The ASUS ROG Phone II Review: Mobile Gaming First, Phone Second

The concept of mobile gaming is still a relatively new phenomenon. The idea that a user can have a smartphone dedicated to gaming that isn’t in of itself a console or handheld platform from Nintendo seems very odd – here’s a device that does everything a phone can do, as well as play the same games, so what makes it a “Gaming Phone”, especially if it has almost the same hardware inside? ASUS’s new ROG Phone II, designed under its Republic of Gamers brand, is ultimately a product designed to showcase that there are things you can do with a phone to make it more gaming focused. We take the device (and some of its accessories) for a spin.

ViewSonic Introduces Elite XG270QG Monitor: WQHD w/DCI-P3 and 165 Hz G-Sync

ViewSonic has introduced a new high-end gaming-focused display, the Elite XG270QG. The 27-inch WQHD monitor uses a Nano IPS panel that offers all the flair you'd expect from a gaming monitor, including a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz with G-Sync support, but ViewSonic is also focusing on color quality as well, supporting a surprising 98% of the DCI-P3 color space. As a result, while the monitor is primarily positioned for gaming, its characteristics should be good enough even for prosumers with color-critical workloads.

The key feature of ViewSonic’s Elite XG270QG display is LG 27-inch Nano IPS panel with a 2560×1440 resolution. The panel and backlighting system supports a maximum brightness of 350 nits, a 144/165 Hz refresh rate (normal/overclocked), and 1 ms GtG response time. Nano IPS panels made by LG feature nanoparticles on the screen’s LED backlighting that absorb excess light wavelengths and according to the company, improve the intensity, purity, as well as the accuracy of the on-screen colors.

Along with a refined backlighting system, the Elite XG270QG can display 1.07 billion colors (8-bit + A-FRC) and covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color space. And, showcasing that ViewSonic isn't just after gamers with the monitor and is looking to tap into the prosumer market as well, the monitor has optional light-shielding barriers on the sides to ensure consistent image quality even in bright ambient lighting.

For gamers, it is important that the monitor supports NVIDIA’s G-Sync variable refresh rate technology with up to 144/165 Hz maximum refresh rate. Regrettably, ViewSonic says nothing about the G-Sync range of its Elite XG270QG.

Given its positioning, the ViewSonic Elite XG270QG comes with an adjustable stand featuring an integrated mouse bungee, headphone hook, RGB ambient lighting on the back, and a brushed aluminum base. Meanwhile, the monitor offers the usual input options, with both a DisplayPort input as well as an HDMI input.

The Irishman Debuts To Perfect Rating On Rotten Tomatoes

Expectations were that the new Martin Scorsese film, The Irishman, would be well-received. Perfect scores on Rotten Tomatoes suggests it could be huge.

If early projections hold, Scorsese's latest project has the potential to be as good, if not better than any of his earlier works: Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, or King of Comedy. It's hard to call anything "perfect" but that's one of the consistent adjectives being used to describe the new film and the early ratings on Rotten Tomatoes seem to match.

With close to 50 reviews The Irishman has debuted with a 100% Fresh score. Essentially, this means pretty much only critics have seen the film and those who have think the world of it. A true-crime movie, speculation is that the film could score some of the highest ratings ever for a film rated on the platform, and the more often and longer the scores stay high, the more fans will line up to see it.

These ratings will mean a lot for a film that is almost four hours long. Asking any movie-goer to sit through such a long feature is a big ask. When the film is so widely acclaimed, it's an easier sell.

What might be of interest to many is the de-aging process applied to a number of the actors, a feature that likely took a sizeable portion of the $156 million in production costs. If the movie can go for such a lofty special effect and get a 100% rating, it must have worked. Not only has it worked, but many are hailing the film a "masterpiece", calling the movie emotional and touching.

Another attraction, of course, will be the lineup of stars featured in the movie. From De Niro and Pacino, to Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, Anna Paquin, Bobby Cannavale, and Ray Ramano, such an all-star cast will attract viewers.

Logically, after such glowing reviews, it makes sense to assume The Irishman could be front and center in Oscar conversations. It will likely join a list of films like Joker and Judy, but Scorsese might have the inside track, considering, after all, he is Scorsese. A master of his craft, he's not won nearly as often as he should and the Academy might try to make up for it. If reviews stay glowing, who can blame them?

Fans who want an opportunity to judge for themselves can watch The Irishman in theaters on November 1, then see it again if they subscribe to Netflix on November 27th.

MCU: The 10 Richest Members, Ranked By Net Worth | TheRichest

Since MCU films are some of the most popular at the box office, and such huge pop culture phenomena, it’s not a surprise that many of the actors and actresses that have appeared in thyme do well for themselves. There have been many actors in the many Marvel movies over the years, and some of them have really built their careers on their appearances in these movies.

RELATED: 10 Top Richest Actors In The World From 2009 To 2019

It’s also true that if you are a main character in these movies, you’ll likely make a good amount of money. We’ve put together a list of the richest actors from the MCU, mostly looking at those who have had main roles, and ranked them leading up to the highest net worth.

10 BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH: $30 MILLION

Benedict Cumberbatch definitely didn’t get his start by starring as Doctor Strange in the MCU, but it did help solidify his superstardom. Cumberbatch has been in many sci-fi movies and other things that make him popular amongst fandom crowds.

His net worth is around $30 million, and this isn’t surprising considering many of the big-name films he’s been in. Some of the highlights include Stark Trek, The Imitation Game, The Grinch, and, of course, Sherlock. He got his start acting in theater productions in London.

9 PAUL RUDD: $30 MILLION

Paul Rudd is another well-known actor that got his start way before he ever appeared in a Marvel movie. He is known for being a comedic actor and has starred in many films such as Knocked Up and I Love You, Man.

He’s also appeared in a variety of television series over the years. So, when he landed the lead role in the Ant-Man films, it just added to his already long and rich career. His net worth sits at about $30 million, and his acting career is still going strong.

8 MARK RUFFALO: $30 MILLION

Mark Ruffalo is another MCU actor whose net worth is about $30 million. While this is quite a big number, he’s actually the actor who played on of the original six Avengers who has the lowest net worth. This makes sense given the fact that Hulk only had one solo movie, and it starred Edward Norton, not Mark Ruffalo.

But, he’s also had a long and varied career before the MCU that includes big films such as 13 Going on 30, Spotlight, Zodiac, and Shutter Island. So, he’s definitely got the acting chops.

RELATED: 10 Richest Marvel Actors, Ranked

7 DON CHEADLE: $35 MILLION

Don Cheadle might be a bit of an underrated MCU actor, but he’s done really well for himself as an actor overall. His net worth is even more than some of the actors in the MCU who have had solo films even though he plays the supporting character of War Machine.

He has been acting for decades, and he has even gotten Oscar and Emmy nominations. Some of his most notable roles include the film Hotel Rwanda and the television series House of Lies. Starring in the MCU has helped his star power, too.

6 CHRIS PRATT: $40 MILLION

Chris Pratt is Star-Lord in the MCU, and he was the main character in two films so far plus being included in two ensemble films. Chris Pratt first got his start in acting by playing the dorky and lovable Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation.

While he appeared in many other films, he didn’t really become super popular until he took the role of Star-Lord. He has also starred in the reboot of the Jurassic Park franchise. With main roles in two large franchises, it’s no wonder he does so well for himself.

5 JEREMY RENNER: $50 MILLION

Jeremey Renner is one of the original six Avengers in the MCU, and so it’s no surprise that he has a rather high net worth. Surprisingly, he has around the same net worth as Chris Evans, even though Hawkeye has never had his own solo movie.

But, Renner’s career has been filled with some other major movies over the years. He had rules in films like Bourne: Legacy and Mission Impossible. He also has been nominated for an Oscar two times.

4 CHRIS EVANS: $50 MILLION

Chris Evans can really thank starring in the MCU for his level of fame and superstardom. While he was acting before this movie, this was his breakout role. His roles before Captain America were mostly less than huge including starring in movies like The Nanny Diaries and Playing It Cool.

Most of his net worth comes from being arguably one of the most popular characters in the MCU franchise so far. He’s also continued to act in a variety of movies including Snowpiercer.

3 CHRIS HEMSWORTH: $90 MILLION

While there might be three extremely famous Chrises in the MCU, Chris Hemsworth is the one who has the highest net worth. It was really being cast as Thor that caused him to have such success in his career and financially. Before he was cast in this role, he’s actually only ever been in a few other movies.

Now, he’s an extremely popular actor and has starred in many other big films such as Snow White and the Huntsman and Men in Black: International. He definitely shows no signs of slowing down in his acting career.

RELATED: 10 Richest DC Actors, Ranked

2 SCARLETT JOHANSSON: $150 MILLION

While there are quite a few women who have had supporting roles in the MCU, Scarlett Johansson has been the main female character in the series for a long time. At least until recently when Captain Marvel was released. She has a huge amount of net worth, and this is likely because of her long career even before Marvel.

She is known for many other roles such as Lost in Translation and The Black Dahlia. And, now that she’s finally starring in her own solo MCU film, her net worth is likely to keep increasing.

1 ROBERT DOWNEY JR.: $25o MILLION

Of all of the main characters in the MCU, Robert Downey Jr. definitely has the highest net worth. This is likely because he has been acting for so long. Before his struggles with drug addiction, he starred in movies such as Chaplin and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.

He’s also been nominated for an Oscar. But, it was really with his role as Iron Man that his career took off once again, and he got a huge second chance as an actor. As the foundational character of the MCU, it’s no wonder he’s done so well for himself.

The 10 Most Expensive Horror Movies Ever Made (& How Much They Made)

Traditionally, horror movies do not have the largest budgets, with many of the greatest scary films being made on shoestring budgets, yet they are always able to make huge sums of money if they are able to provide the scares.

However, every now and then one horror movie comes out that have had massive budgets, with horror becoming one of the most popular genres of film in recent years, seeing bigger budgets isn't uncommon.

RELATED: The 10 Highest-Grossing Horror Movies Of The 80s, Ranked

Of course, much like every other genre, having a big budget doesn't necessarily guarantee the movie will be a big success, but other times they become a big hit. Within this article, we will rank the 10 most expensive horror movies ever produced, and what they made at the box office.

10 IT Chapter 2 (Budget: $79 Million)

After the incredible success of IT, which managed to become the highest-grossing horror movie of all time, there was no doubt that the sequel, IT Chapter 2 was going to have a fairly enhanced budget.

The second time around, there was $79 million to work with, which was grown due to adult actors costing more and more CGI being used to create the amazing monsters that Pennywise transformed into.

While the full box office isn't known yet due to the movie just being released, it managed an impressive $37 million on its opening weekend, so it seems set to once again be a big hit.

9 The Haunting (Budget: $80 Million)

via:www.movpins.com

Remakes are not uncommon nowadays, even in the horror genre, but that doesn't mean they are all smash hits like IT was, with The Haunting being a perfect example of a remake that wasn't well received.

The 1963 movie was remade on a far bigger budget, with $80 million being spent on the film that brought in some major names such as Liam Neeson, Owen Wilson, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

RELATED: 10 Current WWE Superstars With The Highest Net Worth, Ranked

While the movie did manage to make a profit, with a worldwide box office of $170 million, it was panned by critics and fans alike, earning just a 17% positive review on Rotten Tomatoes.

8 Hannibal (Budget: $87 Million)

The adaptation of Hannibal was something that movie fans were incredibly excited about, although it was always clear that it wasn't going to be a cheap to make, with the movie costing around $87 million to produce.

The budget was huge for a movie at that time, however, the fact that the film spent three weeks as number one in the U.S. box office chart proves that it was well worth taking the risk and spending as much as they did.

The movie grossed a total of $520 million, providing a massive net profit, making it one of the most successful horror movies of all time, and a movie that people still love to this day.

7 Hollow Man (Budget: $95 Million)

Anytime a movie uses a large number of visual effects, the budget is going to need to be increased a serious amount, which is one of the main reasons that Hollow Man ended up costing so much to make.

RELATED: The Net Worth Of The American Horror Story Cast, Ranked

$50 million of the budget was spent on visual effect shots alone, with 560 different shots taking place, adding the invisibility to Kevin Bacon's character, which made the movie end up costing a total of $95 million to make.

The major explosion shot also added to the cost, with 14 cameras capturing that at a variety of angles, so it is a good job the movie was able to make $191 million worldwide at the box office.

6 What Lies Beneath (Budget: $100 Million)

Any movie that is going to bring in Harrison Ford is always going to do well, due to the incredible star power that he has, which was well matched by Michelle Pfeiffer, with two blockbuster names being brought in for this horror.

Their combined salary cost $30 million alone, which is why it isn't a major surprise that the budget was in the triple figures, costing $100 million to make when everything was included.

RELATED: Ranking Every iPhone 11 Color From Worst To Best

The movie wasn't the biggest horror success of all time, but it did rank as the 10th highest-grossing film of the year and earned $291 million at the worldwide box office.

5 Prometheus (Budget: $130 Million)

One of the reasons that Prometheus had such a high budget of $130 million was due to the fact the decision was made to use 3D cameras, making things a little more expensive in a bid to make the movie stand out.

Luckily for them, the movie grossed over $400 million worldwide, and even though it wasn't an overwhelming hit amongst moviegoers, the money that the film made cannot be argued.

Having been filmed in a variety of locations across Europe, the movie had a very distinct look and while it might not be at the top of everyone's horror lists, it certainly ticked the box in terms of making money.

4 I Am Legend (Budget: $150 Million)

I Am Legend is still considered to be one of Will Smith's most memorable roles, with the experienced actor being forced to pull out an incredible performance, spending vast amounts of time alone.

The horror movie cost $150 million to make, with Smith earning $25 million for his role, and was seen as a risk before it was released, but the movie gained fantastic reviews and had a brilliant box office.

RELATED: 10 Ridiculously Expensive Things That Johnny Depp Bought

The movie went on to make $256 million in America and an impressive $585 million around the world, setting a December opening record at the time, which is massive for a horror movie.

3 The Wolfman (Budget: $150 Million)

The Wolfman, which was released in 2010 was a remake of the original 1941 classic movie, that is still remembered as one of the best horror movies of all time, but the remake didn't quite live up to that.

Despite an impressive cast that featured Emily Blunt, the movie flopped at the box office, only making $140 million worldwide at the box office, despite winning an Oscar for Best Makeup.

Costing $150 million to make, this movie was considered to be a real bust, which is a shame because the Wolf transformation within the film is actually incredibly impressive.

2 Van Helsing (Budget: $160 Million)

While Van Helsing might not be the first movie you think of when it comes to horror, there is no doubt that is what the genre is of this movie, which was made back in 2004 and was given a huge budget of $160 million.

Following the success of The Mummy movies, the decision was made to put plenty of money into the movie, with the aim of making Van Helsing another major hit, yet that isn't what took place.

Despite the high budget of the film and the fact they brought in the talented, Hugh Jackman for the lead role made no difference, as the movie only grossed $120 million domestically.

1 World War Z (Budget: $190 Million)

Any movie that is going to feature and be produced by Brad Pitt is always going to have a high budget, with the A-list celebrity only attaching himself to major projects, which is why the movie had a huge budget of $190 million.

Originally, the movie was slated to have a $125 million budget, but due to some serious issues with production and scripts being rewritten, the budget grew quickly, putting major pressure on the film to be a success.

Thankfully, the movie was a smash hit, earning $202 million domestically and a major $540 worldwide, becoming one of Pitt's greatest successes, which had sparked many rumors that a sequel could be happening.

10 Easy Ways To Save Money In Disney World | TheRichest

Walt Disney World might be known as the 'Happiest Place On Earth,' but it also happens to be one of the most expensive, making this a trip that is simply unaffordable for many people.

Some save money away for years in order to experience the magic that the theme parks are able to offer, but even once flights, hotels, and theme park tickets have been bought, there are other costs such as food and merchandise to consider.

RELATED: Net Worth Of The 10 Biggest Disney Child Stars

While it is simply impossible to make a holiday to Walt Disney World 'cheap,' there are some tips and tricks to make the trip a lot less expensive, and within this article, we will reveal 10 ways to save money in Disney World.

10 Take A Water Bottle

Orlando is hot, and humid, and even if you're from somewhere that is warm when you are constantly moving around in the heat going from various rides to standing and watching shows in the sun, it is important you stay hydrated.

While Disney has plenty of vendors and quick-service dining locations to pick up sodas and water from, as you would expect, they are more expensive than you are normally used to paying, and when you're buying lots of them, it quickly racks up.

This is why taking a reusable water bottle is always a wise idea, as there are plenty of water fountains all around the theme parks, meaning you can save money in that sense, plus, it's more environmentally friendly!

9 Free Ice Water

On the topic of staying hydrated and saving money, should you not purchase a reusable water bottle, or perhaps you simply forgot it, then don't worry, as there are other ways you can get water!

RELATED: The 10 Most Expensive Pieces Of Walt Disney World Merchandise, Ranked

Disney is well aware of its own prices as well as the necessity for people to by hydrated, so if you go to any food stall or dining area and ask for a cup of ice water, they will gladly provide that for you.

Not only is this a good option, but the water is always ice cold, which is something you cannot guarantee from a water fountain that has had the hot sun on it for a full day.

8 Pre Pack A Poncho

Speaking of the weather and how it can impact you, it isn't just the heat that you need to consider, as Florida has a tropical weather climate which is why it's so humid, and with that comes tropical storms.

Sometimes, these can be huge storms that will have a serious impact on your trip, but others are much smaller and will pass in a day or two. Either way, you can expect it to rain on a daily basis for at least one hour at some stage.

While that might seem annoying, it really isn't that bad if you have a poncho, but don't be caught emptyhanded having to pay Disney prices for one, pre-buy yourself a poncho and save tons of money.

7 Free Balloon Options

If you've ever walked on Main Street U.S.A, then you will have seen the classic Disney balloons that make an incredible picture and are sold for a high price, but you best believe your child will want one.

However, if you don't want to spend tons of money on a balloon that could end up flying away, then Disney do actually have some freebies for guests at their resort front desks, giving everyone the chance to have a balloon.

RELATED: 10 Most Expensive Rollercoasters (& Where To Find Them)

You won't get a balloon quite as amazing as the ones pictured, but having one is better than nothing, and it will certainly save you a little bit of money as well.

6 Autographs

One of the big things that people first want to do when they get to Dinsey World is meet the characters that they love so much in the movies, whether it be Peter Pan or the big cheese himself, Mickey Mouse.

People want a photo, and many also want to collect an autograph in the process, with Disney selling tons of different autograph books, which is one way that people can end up spending unnecessary money.

When you arrive at the meet and greet, the cast member who is working with the character will actually already have a pre-signed piece of paper if you don't have a book, meaning nobody needs to miss out.

5 No Room Service Option

If you happen to be staying at any of the Walt Disney World hotel resorts, then one way of saving money is by making the most of the new service that Disney is offering guests, which is to opt-out of room service.

RELATED: The 10 Most Expensive Disney Park Hotels

While that might not seem like something you necessarily want to do when you think about the small amount of time you actually spend in the room, and the fact Disney has washing services means this isn't as bad as it may seem.

Disney will pay $10 per night of your duration that you opt-out, meaning you can gain quite a lot of money if you have a two-week vacation, which can then be spent on a nice meal or some merchandise.

4 Don't Use Photopass

The Disney Photopass service is an incredible thing. Not only does it mean you don't have to take your camera around, but it means everyone can be in the photo and the pictures are always guaranteed to look good.

Disney hires professional photographers to take pictures of guests, with the option of paying a lump sum for all the pictures, on-ride, and around the park being available, but just because they are around doesn't mean you have to use them.

RELATED: The 10 Most Expensive Disney Park Restaurants

One way to save money would be utilising the skills of the professionals, by asking them to take a picture on your phone, which they will oblige to, meaning you get a great shot and you don't waste the money!

3 Entree Only

When you head to a Dinsey quick-service dining location, there is always a vast variety of options, which is great as a guest as it means you are not limited to only one thing, however, it can also lead to guests picking a more expensive option.

Disney tends to push 'combo' meals on their menus, meaning you pick an entree option such as a burger, or a wrap, and then you also get fries, salad, and a dessert with that, which obviously starts to grow the cost.

Instead, simply go for the entree only option, getting just the burger, for example, as this is going to save you plenty of money in the long run, and it should still fill you up.

2 Salad Bars

While having an entree only meal is certainly a wise option as a method of saving money, there are other ways to save cash when it comes to dining inside Walt Disney World's popular theme parks.

While taking your own food is certainly an option, many people don't want to find a grocery store to pay for food and then prepare it, so another option is looking for dining areas that offer a salad bar.

One example is the popular, Tortuga Tavern in the Magic Kingdom, which is a great way of filling up. Not only can you purchase an entree, but you can also use the salad bar to get even more food, for no extra charge!

1 Plan A Cheap Day

If you're going to Disney World for a limited amount of time, then this might not be an option, but if you're going for a two-week vacation then having a day off from the parks is a good idea.

Not only will it relax and conserve your energy, but it will also make sure you save some money as you will not be tempted by major merchandise or snack options, which gives you the chance to save some money.

A day at the pool relaxing is certainly going to make you save money, and you don't even need any special tips of tricks in order to make this happen, but because people want to cram so much in, this often gets overlooked.
