Tyler The Creator Drops New Album & Buys $500K Pendant

Tyler The Creator is known to lavishly treat himself to the finer things in life, and this time, he truly went all out.  On the heels of the release of his brand new album titled, Call Me If You Get Lost, he decided now was the time to celebrate, and he did so without any hesitation. The artist took it upon himself to pre-order some very expensive bling, and customized a brand new $500,00 chain and pendant. TMZ reports that this took a lot of time to produce and custom design, and Tyler is now sitting back with his brand new jewels, as the world soaks up the sounds of his hard-hitting new album.

Celebrities are known to lead luxurious lifestyles, and they have more than enough money to buy anything their hearts desire. Tyler The Creator just took this mindset to a whole new level, by customizing a chain and pendant like no other. The jewelry piece is dripping with diamonds and sparkles as far as they eye can see.

He didn't hesitate to task famed jeweler Alex Moss, who says he has been working on this piece for a solid 7 months now. In fact, he reveals that the diamonds requested by Tyler The Creator were so rare and so hard to find, that it took him a whopping 4 months just to source them and get them in his possession.

The pendant features diamonds in clear white, gold, blue and pink. The colored diamonds are perfectly assembled to create the visual effect of a bellhop carrying  a suitcase in each hand. Tyler The Creator is said to have worked on the design with Alex Moss, who then went on to tweak it and provide stylistic suggestions that would be executable for the design of the expensive piece.

Of course, all of this work contributed to the very expensive $500,000 price tag. TMZ revealed that; "the piece has more than 186 carats in diamonds, 60 carats in sapphires and a whopping 23,515 stones were hand-set!!!"

If that's not impressive enough on its own, there's one more tidbit fans should know about this very expensive gift that Tyler bought for himself, and this one is guaranteed to make anyone's  jaw drop. The tiny little diamond suitcases... well, they actually open and close.

After spending half a million on the jewelry, Tyler The Creator still has not revealed what the meaning of the diamond belhop and suitcases is. He declared that he wants to keep that private.

Child Honoring: Raffi's Inspiring Path To Fame, Fortune, And Positive Change

Children’s singer/songwriter Raffi makes up the soundtrack of many 80’s and 90’s childhoods and he’s still going strong. With an estimated net worth of $12 million, Raffi has touched the lives of millions of children (and still releasing music today) but he’s also worked as an author and activist for subjects dear to his heart.

From silly songs to child welfare and environmental activism, his life choices are far beyond rhymes and laughter but cemented in changing those lives he’s entertained for generations.

Born in Cairo, Egypt and raised in Toronto, Raffi Cavoukian got his start creating music for adults, playing folk music and covers in bars and cafes across Canada. His first record, in fact, is a folk-country album, “Good Luck Boy” in 1975.

His wife at the time, Deb, was a teacher and asked him to entertain the children in her classroom with some original songs. One single gig led to many more elementary school visits through a program sponsored by the Mariposa Folk Fest.

It was in a classroom of 30 when suddenly the lightbulb in his head went off according to MentalFloss. In his autobiography Raffi explained, he suddenly saw each individual child as a person versus a large group of children and never again “missed the individual child within the group again.”

Calling his children’s music his “accidental career” by the early 1980’s “Baby Beluga”, “Bannanaphone” and “Down By The Bay” was playing on record players in houses across the world and Raffi continued to make those choices that made kids individuals instead of a large group of dollar signs.

RELATED: The 10 Richest Children's Authors Of All Time, Ranked By Net Worth

In light of his hyper focus on his child audience, Raffi was careful not to lose sight of his young fans and declined when asked to play at Madison Square Garden. As many as 18,000 fans would have attended the show, however, Raffi said the experience for his preschool fan base wouldn’t be “quality”. He understood that so many young people felt his songs playing on VHS and record players at home were just for them and the bigger the concert, the less connection.

He also chose to decline merchandise production, never selling t-shirts at his concerts and turning down corporate endorsements. According to The Washington Post, Raffi refused to put his product on candy, toys and cartoons for the mere sake of making money.

As years past, the iconic children’s singer/songwriter began to feel an urging to go back to his folk music roots and he became frustrated with his audience getting younger and younger. No longer, could he share messages through his music because toddlers and babies were attending concerts and he longed to push several important issues to the forefront.

The famous “Baby Beluga” song was inspired by a real beluga whale and Raffi’s life-long environmental activism. By 1988, he was taking the song about a baby beluga swimming wild and free and sharing the true struggle of the whale’s population dropping from 5,000 to just 450 in a few short years. In 1990, his “Evergreen Everblue” album was a mix of familiar tunes with new lyrics, plus new songs – all dedicated to environmental education. It wasn’t received well by parents expecting the typical child-friendly message, however, Raffi was turning a corner and becoming more serious about his passions.

He founded Centre for Child Honouring, a non-profit aimed at changing kids lives for the better and co-founded Red Hood Project, in response to the online bullying epidemic. He’s been an avid protester against marketing to children and can proudly say he has never done so.

In 2013, he wrote a novel, Lightweb Darkweb: Three Reasons to Reform Social Media Before it Re-Forms Us, discussing how social media was changing youth and the dangers involved in becoming immersed at a young age.

After an extended hiatus and nearly a decade pursuing his activism, Raffi found a middle ground. While he continues to lead and support several environmental and child activism organizations, he’s also found love and peace in new children’s music, concerts and collaborations.

In 2017, “The Best of Raffi” was released, bringing the now-adults favorite hits to a new generation. According to Raffi News, in 2018, the famous musician dropped “Dog on the Floor”, a new album of 15 inspiring children’s songs and in 2020, he collaborated on mom, Lindsay Munroe’s new album, “I Am Kind: Songs for Unique Kids”, lending his voice and expertise for the first-time venture.

The 72-year-old recently told Vulture the energy and love for children and music was back (thought it never really left) and he believed he’d make ten more children’s albums by the time he’s 80. The news will certainly please generations of old fans and those new ones, still to come.

Jay-Z & Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Discuss Plans For Tidal

The prolific rap legend, Jay-Z has been making quite the bit of buzz lately. From releasing a new NFT commemorating the 25th anniversary of his debut album, to taking people to court over likeness disputes, the entertain has had a strong presence in entertainment news headlines these past few weeks.

Well, his name made headlines one again when he and Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey discussed the prospects of Jay's music streaming platform, Tidal.

RELATED: Jay-Z Officially Closes $350 Million Sale Of Tidal

Tidal was as a artist led alternative to other popular streaming services such as Spotify and Soundcloud. According to Variety, Jay-Z curated a consortium of his A-list pals, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Kanye West among others to purchase a similar Norwegian based music streaming called Aspiro. The cost of the purchase - $56 million.

Though things changed when billionaire Jack Dorsey bought the Tidal platform for around a whopping $300 million stake in 2015. The stunning purchase was made by Dorsey's payment company Square and solidified the relationship between the savvy business duo. Dorsey and his team were cajoled to commit to this venture for the prospects of a more direct communication the platform's music loving audience.

The two business moguls left their adoring audience in baited breath for any information about the upcoming collaboration. That was until they sat together to discuss their ventures in a recent conference.

It can be gathered from their discussion that they're certainly looking into capitalizing on the phenomenon of NTFs.

"The spirit of what NFTs represent, the spirit of just looking critically at how artists are compensated," the Twitter CEO says according to Coin Telegraph, "and of proving that, is something that we want to spend a lot of time and a lot of our focus on going forward."

Jay-Z is certainly no stranger to the NFT game. Just recently, he released his first NFT with the prominent online store Sotheby's to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt's   release.  This came on the heels of the rapper's record label filing a couple lawsuits against folks using Jay-Z's likeness for the same commemoration.

Because Tidal is still a relatively new platform, it understandably falls behind the giants of its contemporary music streaming giants that average yearly revenue in the billions. But, by the dialogue presented in the conference, the duo has a couple tricks up their sleeves: one of which being the innovation of the industry's analytic front.

"What really dawned on me was how weak some of the tool sets are for artists, with analytics and data, to understand what they’re doing and help them inform their decisions," Dorsey continues.

How Barenaked Ladies Made A Million Dollars...And More

It's hard to believe that it has been a whopping 33 years since the Barenaked Ladies launched their musical careers in Toronto, Canada. Out of sheer desperation to get paid by playing music, and the definite need to start turning profits fast, Steven Page and Ed Robertson jokingly called themselves the Barenaked Ladies. Exclaim reports it was a feeble effort to get noticed during their contributions to a charity show, and the gentlemen had absolutely no idea that this name would not only stick, but would become legendary in Canadian history, and in the history of music, on a global scale. Best known for their iconic song $1,000,000, during which they aspire to earn a million dollars,  the band went on to make much, much more money than that as they climbed the ladder of success.

It was 1988, in a city called Scarborough which is just east of the big city of Toronto, when Ed Robertson and Steven Page began a band that would one day become synonymous with Canadian fame, and would shatter music records across the globe.

The unsuspecting friends were humbly introduced to one another after they both happened to come from a Peter Gabriel concert and head to Harveys for a burger. They bumped in to one another and started chatting about the concert, and their mutual love of music. It turned out that they went to school together, and became closely bonded over their ability to harmonize perfectly as a pair.

While attending a Bob Dylan concert, the young boys became silly and pretended to be rock critics. They created a fictional band called the Barenaked Ladies, and mocked the name as they role played.

Shortly thereafter, Robertson was asked to play a gig, he jokingly gave the name The Barenaked Ladies as the name of his band, and invited Steven Page to join him.

It was all fun and games at first, but it didn't take long before the name of the band became a highly controversial topic of discussion in the streets of Toronto, and the newly and accidentally formed band called The Barenaked Ladies truly took flight.

RELATED: Anarchy Meets Luxury: The Big Money Of Punk Music

Their name originated from a joke about how they'd look at women's underwear in Sears catalogues, but when push came to shove, the success of the Barenaked Ladies was absolutely nothing to laugh about.

The more music they released, the better they were received, and before they knew it, even bad press... was good press. When they were kicked off the roster for a huge gig in Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, due to the name of the band, people seemed to pay even more attention to them. A little bit of controversy went a long way, and the band saw the addition of the Creegan brothers to the group.

They began to pump out hits like Be My Yoko Ono and If I Had $1,000,000, which were catchy, and picked up well on mainstream media. During their visit to theJust For Laughs Festival in Montreal, Robertson discovered the musical comedy troupe named Corky and the Juice Pigs, which went on to be a pivotal influence on the band's style and form.

Their roaring success was soon marred by their inability to connect with their American audience, and the death of Robertson's brother in a tragic motorcycle accident left him unable to commit to music in a fruitful manner. The pressure of the 2nd album, the follow up to the hugely successful first one, Gordon, proved to be too much for Andy Creeggan, who ended up leaving the band. Maybe You Should Drive went double platinum in Canada, but flatlined in the United States, and in spite of its North American success, the overall success of the album still paled in comparison to Gordon.

The band began to fall from grace, and Page began to drink heavily. A failed tour was followed by Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow pulling out their promise to star in the video for Shoe Box, and it seemed the group couldn't regain traction.

After a series of ups and downs, and changes with management and band members, the group starts to see a change. Born On A Pirate Ship, and Rock Spectacle failed miserably, but soon enough, after many wild rides,  success came their way.

According to Exclaim; "On June 2, 2015, Barenaked Ladies release their 11th studio album, Silverball, which is produced by Gavin Brown. The title and album cover are a reference to Robertson's love of pinball machines. In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Robertson explains that this album found the band relieved of the stress they felt with previous albums."

This stress continued to build with the very publicized departure of Steven Page. in 2009. He was arrested for possession of cocaine and eventually released a statement saying his departure from the band was 'mutually amicable,' but fans weren't ignorant to the strain it put on the success of the group. Gavin Brown stepped in to lend his talents in the area of production, and the band continued to release a series of albums with huge success. Creating the theme song for The Big Bang Theory was a huge money-maker for the band, leading them to wild levels of fame and fortune beyond the wealth they had already accrued.

In March of 2018, the band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the band reunited again to play alongside former members Steven Page and Andy Creeggan.

In response to their cancelled tour amid the pandemic, the band began releasing performances from their webcams which they called the #SelfieCamJam, as a way of continuing to entertain the masses while isolating.

Their thirteenth studio album is nearing its release date, and fans are eagerly awaiting the drop. Detour De Force, is set to be released July 16, 2021. That's a far cry from two young boys that made up a fake name and didn't have any cover songs or singles to share with the world. The Barenaked Ladies have defied the odds, and have truly managed to find the way to the top, and stay there, in spite of conflict, controversy, and the fact that well over a= $1,000,000 had already been earned.

Coco's Fortune: How Conan O'Brien Amassed $150 Million

Conan O’Brien is famously known for hosting late-night TV shows like Late Night With Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien. He has also worked in the writing team for shows like Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons.

Fans began being on the lookout for some news on the host when O’Brien went on a hiatus suddenly. However, there was news about him buying and selling real estate in New York. O’Brien has been one of the most influential stars in the entertainment industry while also being a famous producer and comedian.

RELATED: Mark Burnett: Reality TV's $500 Million Winner

Born in Brooklyn, Massachusetts, in 1963, Conan O’Brien was an outgoing kid in school. He worked as the managing editor of his school magazine called the ‘Sagamore.’ He was an erudite student at Brookline High School who later interned with Congressman Robert Drinan. As a child, he composed a short story called ‘To Bury The Living’ and won the National Council Of Teachers Of English writing contest.

After graduating from Brookline High School as a valedictorian, O’Brien got selected to study at the prestigious Harvard University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History and English Literature. Conan's writing skills came from his training as the editor of the school magazine, being part of different writing contests, and being an author for the Lampoon humor magazine at Harvard. He even became the president of the Lampoon magazine when he was in his sophomore year at Harvard.

When it came to making a career in the entertainment industry, Conan wasted no time getting started. After his college graduation, he moved to LA and landed a job in the writing team of HBO’s show titled ‘Not Necessarily the News.’ As a part-time occupation, he also worked with the Groundlings.

In 1988, Conan joined Saturday Night Live as one of the writers, which lasted for almost three years. When it came to writing, Conan proved his genius as he had in his previous years. After working for SNL, he and the rest of the writing team bagged an Emmy for ‘Outstanding Writing In A Comedy Or Variety Series.'

Sometimes, Conan O’Brien appeared as an extra in the SNL sketches. For example, in a sketch written for TomHanks, he appeared as a doorman. Conan became a known face on SNL through such gigs, but O’Brien’s ambitions were way higher for his television career. His next career upgrade was when he collaborated with Robert Smigel to write the television pilot for ‘Lookwell’ - starring Adam West. The show was not very successful and got rejected by the network after its pilot, following which Conan quit Saturday Night Live in 1991.

The next big opportunity came for O’Brien as a writing job for the animation series - The Simpsons. For two whole years, from 1991 to 1993, Conan wrote and produced the sitcom. Meanwhile, he was contacted by the executive producer of the Late Night Show, Lorne Michaels, for hosting the show post the retirement of the former host David Letterman. He was selected for the role in 1993 while he was still in contract with Fox to write The Simpsons. As a result, NBC and O'Brien split the cost and got out of the contract.

Conan’s career with NBC’s Late Night Show did not start with a bang. Things were rather tight in the beginning. Critics and fans poorly received his performance as the host, and there were times when the interns on the show had to fill the empty seats. However, in a short span, his stars changed, and Conan grew popular among the audience, and the Late Night Show began gathering its momentum once again.

Once again, Conan, with the rest of the Late Night Show’s writing team, received an honorary Emmy for being the ‘Best Writing In A Comedy Or Variety Series.’ In 2005, The Late Night Show With Conan O'Brien attracted an average of 2.5 million viewers. Despite which O’Brien gave it up to grab the opportunity to host The Tonight Show.

John Leno previously hosted the Tonight Show until NBC decided to move Leno to a different slot and gave O’Brien the right slot. Once again, things were not very smooth at the beginning of this transition. Later NBC put Leno back from his prime-time slot to the night slot because of the show’s less viewership. Conan negotiated a settlement with NBC, giving him a pay stub of $32.5 million. It is speculated that his yearly salary was somewhere between a grand $12 million to $15 million.

In 2011, O’Brien announced his new show called Conan to be aired on cable TV station TBS. He made around $12 million every year for 11 years. In this time, Conan also established his own production house called ‘Conaco’ through which he has produced shows like Andy Barker, PI, and Outlaw.

He is also the founder and owner of the production company ‘TeamCoco.’ The company collaborated with Earwolf in 2018 to launch the weekly podcast called Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend. It has received honorary awards such as the ‘iHeartRadio Podcast Award For Best Comedy Podcast’ and ‘Best Ad Read.’

Coco took a sad but heartfelt farewell from the late-night TV shows in 2021 after 11 successful seasons of Conan. With a jaw-dropping net worth of $150 million, he advises people to chase the things that make them happy and to do it in the company of their loved ones.

Netgear Launches WAX630 AX6000 Wi-Fi 6 Access Point for SMBs

Netgear has been slowly building up its Wi-Fi 6 business portfolio over the last couple of years. Today, the company is launching its flagship SMB access point in its Insight-managed series - the WAX630. The consumer Wi-Fi market segment has received extra focus over the last year or so with the onset of the pandemic-induced work-from-home (WFH) trend. As businesses move towards reopening in many parts of the world, there is bound to be an investment in upgrading the networking infrastructure of many SMB / microbusinesses to gear up for the increased workloads. Netgear is hoping to ride this upgrade wave to increase the market share of its Insight-based networking equipment in the SMB market.

In 2020, Netgear released the Orbi SXK80 and the WAX610 AP to introduce Wi-Fi 6 into their SMB portfolio. The company has been far more busy this year, with the launch of the WAX214 AX1800 and WAX218 AX3600 APs under the Essentials brand, the Orbi SXK30 AX1800 mini and the WAX620 AX3600 Insight-managed AP back in March. Today's WAX630 launch rounds off its launches for the first half of 2021.

The WAX630 is the new flagship, and builds upon the 802.3at as well as 2.5GBASE-T support of the WAX610 and WAX620. A second wired LAN port (GbE) is included. It supports up to 600 active clients with 100 concurrent devices. The coverage area is also more, coming it at 3500 sq. ft. compared to 2500 for the WAX610 and 3000 for the WAX620. This tri-band solution (2x 5GHz + 1x 2.4 GHz 4x4) comes under the AX6000 class (1200 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and 2 x 2400 Mbps in the 5GHz one), pointing to the use of a Qualcomm chipset. The lack of full 160 MHz support is not a big deal in this market segment, at least not until Wi-Fi 6E becomes more widespread.

Almost all SMB and enterprise Wi-Fi solutions are enabled with cloud-management. This greatly simplifies management on-the-go by IT administrators. However, this carries a premium for the additional firmware features and cloud servers maintenance from the vendor's perspective. Netgear's business lineup also includes an 'Essentials' product line that does away with the app and cloud-based management for a lower price point.

On the Orbi Pro front, one of the challenges for market acceptance has been the pricing due to its multi-device nature. The SXK80 was introduced last year at $770 for a router and a satellite. Last month, the SXK30 Orbi Pro Wi-Fi 6 Mini was introduced at $300 for a pair. To meet this price point, the SXK30 does away with the second 5GHz band and the 2.5GBASE-T port. The coverage area and capacity metrics are also a notch lower than the SXK80.

In SMB Wi-Fi, the focus is not on peak throughput - rather, security and reliability are primary concerns. Scalability and ease of management come in a close second. With their current portfolio of products and suggested pricing structure, Netgear is carving a niche for itself in this market segment. While not going head-to-head against the Cisco Merakis and Arubas, it does need to compete against other vendors such as Ubiquiti Networks, Linksys Business, EnGenius, and the like. However, none of these vendors seem to have a product in the market currently to go head-to-head against the WAX630's specifications. It will be interesting to track how the market evolves over the coming months. The WAX630 is priced at $330 and available for purchase today.

New Gerber Baby Chosen, Family Receives $25K Prize

Zane Kahin is officially the new Gerber baby. The announcement came on the morning edition of TODAY, as the four month old and his doting parents, Michael and Erin, learned the exciting news live on the air.

The victory might seem like a miracle to most moms and dads, but the Kahins are no strangers to miracles. Zane's birth itself feels like one as the couple were fearful they would be unable to conceive following Erin's treatment for breast cancer at 27 years old.

Our family continues to enjoy every moment and look at life with appreciation and a sense of humor."

The Tale Of Dar Robinson: The World's Richest Stunt Double

The late Dar Robinson was not a Hollywood actor, but the legendary stunt double certainly gained as much fame as one.

Born in 1947 in Los Angeles, California, Dar was the idol for all stunt doubles looking to stand out in Hollywood and beyond. The directors and producers of big-screen superhits were so fond of him that they would often offer him small roles out of admiration for his astounding performances in stunt scenes.

But the career of this legendary stuntman ended too soon while he was hardly 39 years old. The confidence that Dar inspired in aloof his colleagues and friends makes it impossible for them to believe what happened on that fateful day of his demise. He is, however, remembered for his previous achievements that took the world by surprise and established him as the best stunt double Hollywood has ever had.

This is how Dar Robinson rose to fame and became the wealthiest stunt double in the world.

RELATED: Before The Billions: The Life Of Jeff Bezos Prior To Amazon

Dar Robinson became a sensation at the age of thirteen when he made it to the cover of Life Magazine after making some unprecedented accomplishments on the trampoline. His father, Jess Weston Robinson, was already quite famous for his stunts on the trampoline and his son naturally fell into his footsteps. The reason Dar achieved tremendous success at a tender age was his years of rigorous training in his father’s Gymnastic Supply Company. He became an expert on the trampoline by instinct and muscle memory and soon secured the third rank in his division.

Robinson’s big-screen breakthrough was with a stunt scene in a movie called Papillon that came out in 1973. Dar was playing the stunt double for the actor Steve McQueen, and he had to do a 100-foot jump from a high cliff. Robinson was also the stunt double for Clint Eastwood in a motorcycle stunt scene in the movie called Magnum Force.

Even as a young stunt person, Dar showed more promise than anybody else in the industry. He reached new heights every day, quite literally. One of his first records in stunt scenes was where he drove on the edge of the Grand Canyon and parachuted moments before landing on the ground.

He set a world record in 1979 where he made a successful free fall from a helicopter into an airbag - the height of which was almost 311 feet. One of the biggest highlights of his career was when he played the stunt double for Christopher Plummer in the 1982 film Highpoint. He jumped from the deck of Toronto’s CN Tower, and it was a free fall of almost 700 feet.

This 1970’s stunt became one of the most dramatic ever by a stuntman, and it established Robinson’s position in the industry as the best in his profession. The scene was shot in 1979, and it paid Robison a handsome amount of about $150,000. What made it even more of a spectacle was that the CN tower was officially the tallest building in Toronto back in the 1970s. The scene featured famous actors like Richard Harris, Beverly D'Angelo, Saul Rubinek, and Maury Chaykin, marking the movie's climax.

The performance of Robinson was collectively lauded, and it landed him his next job as the stunt man for another challenging scene in the movie Sharky Machine, directed by Burt Reynolds in 1981. Reynolds spoke fondly of Robinson making a wireless free fall and relying only upon an inflatable mattress to break his fall. This marked one of his 20 stunt records, and nobody could prevent him from being the best High fall man.

Robinson made it to the Guinness Book of World Records in 1988 for being the highest-paid stunt person who performed the single stunt of jumping off the CN Tower. A documentary film was also attempted as a tribute to the brave act, and it was rightfully titled The World's Most Spectacular Stuntman.

Robinson was particularly close to Ky Michaelson, and they often discussed death as that is something that stunt performers often talk about. It is always imminent, and yet the art of their work is to avoid it by inches. During the shooting of this feature-length documentary film, Robinson had a near-death experience when he tried to make the world record of cable length jump. The weather was unfavorable, and the stunt failed, but luckily Robinson survived.

While shooting for the Dino De Laurentiis’ comedy-drama called Million Dollar Mystery, Robinson met with a fatal accident. The crew was shooting for a drive-by scene of 3 motorcycles speeding downhill from a steep cliff. After passing out of the camera range, Dar’s bike failed to balance on a sharp curve, and he fell off the edge down an embankment. Robinson took a 40-foot fall and was still conscious when the crew found him. It took about 2 hours to get him to the nearest hospital. However, he did not live to see the light of the day.

Robinson was one of the loud and chatty stuntmen who liked to talk a lot about their dramatic scenes after accomplishing a successful shoot. This made him even more popular amongst his peers. Dar was 39 when he met with his untimely demise. For his achievements, he will always be remembered as the world's richest stuntman who lived a relatively short life but became a legend.

NVIDIA Unveils PCIe version of 80GB A100 Accelerator: Pushing PCIe to 300 Watts

As part of today’s burst of ISC 2021 trade show announcements, NVIDIA this morning is announcing that they’re bringing the 80GB version of their A100 accelerator to the PCIe form factor. First announced in NVIDIA’s custom SXM form factor last fall, the 80GB version of the A100 was introduced to not only expand the total memory capacity of an A100 accelerator – doubling it from 40GB to 80GB – but it also offered a rare mid-generation spec bump as well, cranking up the memory clockspeeds by a further 33%. Now, after a bit over 6 months, NVIDIA is releasing a PCIe version of the accelerator for customers who need discrete add-in cards.

The new 80GB version of the PCIe A100 joins the existing 40GB version, and NVIDIA will continue selling both versions of the card. On the whole, this is a pretty straightforward transfer of the 80GB A100 over to PCIe, with NVIDIA dialing down the TDP of the card and the number of exposed NVLinks to match the capabilities of the form factor. The release of the 80GB PCIe card is designed to give NVIDIA’s traditional PCIe form factor customers a second, higher-performing accelerator option, particularly for those users who need more than 40GB of GPU memory.
