Serena Williams has been sparkling at the 2022 US Open (and not just because of her performance). The tennis star’s diamond-encrusted outfit has been getting almost as much attention as her game.
According to ESPN, Serena worked with Nike months before the competition to design a special look for what will be her final time competing in the tennis championships.
The athlete reportedly took inspiration from figure skating outfits in designing her look. The black one-piece features long, mesh sleeves and a short skirt featuring six layers. This is a nod to the six U.S. Open championships she’s won since 1999.
The upper bodice of the one-piece features hundreds of tiny crystals organized in an ombre pattern. Serena completed her look with a matching jacket and tote bag, both covered in the same crystals.
But the real showstopper of Serena’s look were her matching Nike sneakers. The shoe featured 400 diamond crystals, which were expertly placed by hand.
The shoes feature a variety of special details. The laces feature the phrase “Queen Mama” in gold lettering, while her initials “SW” cover the bottom part of the shoe laces.
Serena wasn’t the only one dressed to the nines. Her daughter, Olympia, was spotted wearing an equally lavish outfit as she watched her mother from the crowd. Photos show the 4-year-old in a black outfit covered in crystals. Both Serena and Olympia were spotted with crystals in their hair.
The athlete shares her daughter with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The couple have been married since 2017.
Serena has been the face of Nike for almost two decades. She originally signed with the sports company in 2003, and this outfit was the perfect way to celebrate their partnership.
Although Serena may be ending her tennis career, she sees retirement as a positive decision. Speaking to PEOPLE, the tennis champion says she was surprised by her daughter’s reaction to her decision to leave the sport, admitting the toddler gave her a "fist-pumping 'Yes!'"
"It's hard to completely commit when your flesh and blood is saying, 'Aw,' " she continued.
Serena went on to reveal that more children may be in her future. "When I look at Olympia, I'm really not performing at my peak by not trying harder to give her that sibling," she shared.
"Coming from a big family, and coming from five, there's nothing better,” Serena concluded.
Last week, Sylvester Stallone’s wife of 25-years filed for divorce amid a dispute about their marital assets. The actor has now responded by denying that he improperly used their assets.
On August 19th, Jennifer filed paperwork in a Florida court accusing Sylvester of engaging “in the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate." Under Florida law, this reasoning is often given if one spouse has excessively spent or borrowed money.
Jennifer is requesting “unequal distribution of the marital assets" as well as sole ownership of the Florida mansion they bought in 2020. She is also asking that all of her attorney fees and legal costs be covered by her estranged husband.
Now, Sylvester has responded to his wife’s accusations, which have caused a stir online. In the filing, his legal team says the actor "has not engaged" in the behavior he’s been accused of.
He’s also challenging his wife’s request that he cover her divorce-related expenses, noting that she "hired counsel to represent her and agreed to pay them their legal fees."
But it doesn’t seem as though Sylvester is opposing the divorce, as he referred to their relationship as “irretrievably broken.”
Initial reports suggested that a dog came in between the long-time couple’s relationship. Sylvester reportedly got a rottweiler, which led to an argument between the pair. The theory gained further traction when it was revealed the Rocky star covered up a tattoo of his wife with an image of one of his dogs.
However, Sylvester has responded to the controversy to deny the dog fuelled the divorce. "We did not end the relationship on such a trivial argument," he told TMZ.
"We just went in different directions. I have the highest respect for Jennifer," he continued. "I will always love her. She's an amazing woman. She's the nicest human being I've ever met."
Sylvester and Jennifer share three daughters, and the actor also has two children from previous relationships. The couple began dating in the late ‘80s, and though they were on-and-off for several years, they tied the knot in 1997.
“While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters,” Jennifer said in a statement after their divorce was made public.
Sylvester also issued a statement, which said, "I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues."
Kim Kardashian’s brand SKIMS is at the center of a new lawsuit, which was brought forth by a woman who claims her body tape is damaging. But Kim’s team has responded by arguing the woman is the victim of a counterfeit product, not a faulty one.
According to The Blast, Noelle Smith failed a lawsuit against the company in hopes of receiving compensation for medical expenses.
Court documents reveal that the plaintiff argues the body tape is “dangerous and unsafe for its intended use,” and that “reasonable careful companies seek to design body tape that don’t rip off the user’s skin.”
The lawsuit says the body tape was “carelessly designed using inadequate materials and compounds […] [and the] defective condition made the body tape dangerous and unsafe for its intended use.”
The plaintiff also alleges that SKIMS is aware people have had similar reactions to the body tape.
“[SKIMS] failed to warn the public of the dangerous body tape, and instead continued to sell the product to the public,” the documents continue. “After releasing the body tape to the public, the consumers started lodging public complains about the body tape damaging skin.”
Smith allegedly suffered a series of injuries after using the body tape branded with SKIMS packaging, though the details are unclear.
SKIMS has already responded to the allegations, and they deny their products are responsible for the woman’s reaction. Rather, the company argues that she purchased the body tape off Amazon, which does not carry SKIMS body tape. It appears the woman purchased a counterfeit product designed to look like the SKIMS tape but was not authentic.
“Upon further review of this specific complaint, we have discovered that the customer purchased what appears to be fake tape from Amazon, who is not an authorized or official retailer of SKIMS products,” a spokesperson told TMZ.
SKIMS body tape is designed to keep clothing in place. It features a double adhesive – one side is attached to the garment, the other to the skin. Kim developed the product after she previously opened about using fashion tape in her red carpet looks.
The SKIMS website recommends folks soak the tape with a damp cloth when removing it. This loosens the adhesive, making it easier to peel off like a band-aid. However, a reviewer from Best Products says that they didn’t follow this step but the tape still “slid off painlessly.”
Possibly entirely by accident, Mike Myers has single-handedly made the legendary spy action comedy moniker, Austin Powers, one of the most famous and iconic movie franchises of all time. He is, without a doubt, a highly-functioning, multi-talented man whose unique approach to comedy had put him in a bracket with some of the legends of character roleplay such as Jim Carrey and Martin Lawrence. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Myers had acquired international success and has helped to produced truly unforgettable films alongside celebrities such as the Queen of Pop, Beyoncé Knowles, Seth Green, Elizabeth Hurley, Rob Lowe, Dana Carvey, Nancy Travis, businesswoman and actress Jessica Alba, and musician/actor Justin Timberlake. Here are 10 of the highest-grossing films of Mike Myers.
10 Shrek 2 - $935.253 Million
Shrek 2 is a computer-animated fantasy comedy film that was released in 2004.The Shrek franchise is based on the 1990 picture book, Shrek!, by William Steig, and has a total of five films, including the Puss in Boots spin-off, which together has grossed $3.5 billion. The film follows Shrek (Mike Myers) and his newly-wed wife Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) who have been invited by Fiona's parents, King Harold (John Cleese) and Queen Lillian to a royal ball following the couple's return from their honeymoon. Shrek is immediately dismissive of the idea of attending, but is later convinced by Fiona and Donkey, played by comedy king Eddie Murphy. As an ogre, Shrek is not accepted by Fiona's parents, who had planned for her to marry Prince Charming (Rupert Everett), and with the help of Fairy Godmother (Jennifer Saunders), still intend to do so. The film grossed a whopping $935.253 million, almost doubling that of the original Shrek in 2001.
9 Shrek The Third - $807.330
As the title might suggest, Shrek The Third is the third installment of the Shrek film franchise and was released in 2007. Trouble in Far Far Away land continues as Shrek (Mike Myers) and Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) are scheduled to succeed a dying King Harold (John Cleese). While on medical leave, Shrek practices for his new royal position as a Regent but fails miserably, prompting King Harold to seek after a more suitable heir: his nephew and Fiona's cousin Arthur "Artie" Pendragon, voiced over by Justin Timberlake. While Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots voiced over by Antonio Banderas went to fetch Artie to become heir, Prince Charming vows to take the throne as King of Far Far Away and also repay the death of his mother, Fairy Godmother.
8 Shrek Forever After - $756.244 Million
The 2007 release of Shrek Forever After also did not fail to deliver, grossing $756.244 million at the box office against a $165 million budget. The film continues to follow the lives of Shrek and Princess Fiona, and gives a flashback of King Harold and Queen Lillian, played by Julie Andrews, who years ago almost signed the kingdom of Far Far Away over to Rumpelstiltskin (Rumpel) (Walt Dohrn) in exchange for removing the curse from Fiona. But the deal was later cancelled when Shrek rescued Fiona, causing Rumpel to devise a scheme to have Shrek sign a deal that gives him one day from Shrek's childhood - the day he was born. The alternate reality now puts Rumpel as the King of Far Far Away along with his witch army, and only Princess Fiona's love can turn things around.
7 Shrek - $491.812 Million
Although the book Shrek! was authored by William Steig and released in 1990, film director, producer, and screenwriter Steven Spielberg purchased rights to the book in 1991 with the intent of producing a traditionally-animated film adaptation. However, it was bought to DreamWorks Pictures in 1994, a company which was also majority-owned by Spielberg. There, it gave birth to the film surrounding a green ogre named Shrek who lives in solitude by a swamp. However, when Lord Farquaad of Duloc (John Lithgow) exiles a mass of fairy-tale creatures who emigrate to Shrek's peaceful swamp, he decides to confront Farquaad and demand that they relocate. The Magic Mirror then tells Farquaad that if he wished to be king, he must marry a princess, and he chooses Princess Fiona, voiced by the elusive Cameron Diaz. Although he is disgusted by the ogre, Farquaad summons him to rescue Fiona and return her to him so they can marry. But along, the way, they fall in love.
5 Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me - $312.382 Million
Every film installment written by Mike Myers, whether it was an actual film or a computer-animated film, has become a massive success at the box office for obvious reasons. Like many of the world's best comedians, he completely immerses himself in the characters he plays, and in the Austin Powers franchise, he plays the role of many characters. Also, similar to the Shrek franchise that saw its highest grossing with Shrek 2, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) is also saw the highest earning at the international box office, raking in $312.382 million at the box office. Myers played the roles of the protagonist Austin Powers, the main villain Dr. Evil, as well as another villain named Fat Bastard. Other main actors included Heather Graham, Rob Lowe, Elizabeth Hurley, and Seth Green.
Out of all the successful film franchises starring Mike Myers, Wayne's World was the most short-lived and the least financially robust at the box office. The film follows Wayne Campbell (Mike Myers) and Garth Algar acted by comedian Dana Carvey, best friends who are also rock music fans. Together they host a public access television show from Wayne's parents' basement called Wayne's World which grabs the attention of major television producer Benjamin Kane (Rob Lowe). Simultaneously, Wayne is attempting to curve his unstable ex-girlfriend Stacy (Lara Flynn Boyle) while showing interest in a lead vocalist for a band named Cassandra Wong (Tia Carrere). Benjamin tries to stay Cassandra from Wayne with his wealth and handsomeness while trying to buy Wayne's television show for $10,000. The film grossed a total of $183.897 million internationally.
2 Dr. Seuss's The Cat In The Hat - $133.818 Million
Loosely based on the 1957 book of the same name, Dr. Seuss is a fantasy comedy film which was released in 2003 and was the directorial debut of Boo Welch. It marked the second and final live-action film since the 2000 release, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, starring the eccentric Jim Carrey. The film follows Conrad (Spencer Breslin) and Sally Walden played by the young and talented Dakota Fanning, the children of single mother Joan Walden (Kelly Preston) who encounter The Cat in the Hat one day while they are at home with their lackadaisical babysitter, Mrs. Kwan (Amy Hill).

However, they manage to restore order just before Joan arrives home. The film grossed a total of $133.818 million at the box office.
1 Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery - $67.683 Million
The film is set in 1967, where the flamboyant and promiscuous Austin Powers is introduced as he thwarts an assassination attempt by his nemesis Dr. Evil, who escapes via rocket into space. There, he cryogenically freezes himself, and Austin does the same in case Dr. Evil return in the future. Dr. Evil returns three years later and straightaway plots to steal nuclear weapons and hold the world hostage for $100 billion. Powers is then unfrozen by the British Ministry of Defense upon hearing of Dr. Evil's return, and he and Vanessa Kensington, performed by Elizabeth Hurley, team up to stop Dr. Evil's doomsday plot. The film went on to gross $67.683 million at the box office.
During AMD's 'together we advance_PCs event, the company unveiled its latest Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 processors to the world, as well as its AM5 platforms, including X670E, X670, B650E, and B650. AMD also announced what it calls AMD EXPO, a new technology for overclocking DDR5 memory. In conjunction with this announcement, AMD has partnered with memory manufacturers including ADATA, Corsair, G.Skill, GeIL, and Kingston Technology to bring AMD Ryzen 7000 optimized kits of DDR5 memory to the market, with 15 (or more) of these set to be available on launch day on September 27th.
AMD EXPO stands for EXtended Profiles for Overclocking and is designed to provide users with high-end memory overclocking when used in conjunction with AMD's Ryzen 7000 series processors. Similar to Intel's preexisting X.M.P (Extreme Memory Profile) technology found on most consumer-level memory kits designed for desktop Intel platforms, AMD's EXPO technology aims to do the same, but as an open standard with an emphasis on providing the best settings for AMD platforms.
AMD EXPO Technology: Like X.M.P, but Optimized for Ryzen 7000
The premise of AMD EXPO is that it will be a one-click DDR5 overclocking function for AM5 motherboards, and AMD claims that EXPO overclocked memory kits will offer up to 11% higher gaming performance at 1080p, although it hasn't quantified how it came to this figure. AMD did, however, state that it is expecting (at least) 15 kits of DDR5 memory with AMD EXPO at launch on September 27th, with rates of up to DDR5-6400.
AMD EXPO, on the surface, is essentially an X.M.P profile specifically designed for AMD's Ryzen 7000 (Zen 4) processors. Although AMD hasn't gone into finer details on how it differs from X.M.P, beyond the fact that it will be royalty and licensing fee free.
G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5 memory with AMD EXPO certification
It is worth noting that DDR5 memory with X.M.P profiles will be supported on Ryzen 7000 platforms. Still, AMD EXPO adds an additional layer of 'compatibility' with AMD systems, as EXPO DIMMs will be optimized for use on AMD platforms (as opposed to X.M.P. kits chiefly being optimized for Intel platforms).
AMD EXPO does have one caveat associated with it; AMD EXPO is classed as overclocking in AMD's own eyes, and according to its footnotes, it does void the warranty.
Overclocking and/or undervolting AMD processors and memory, including without limitation, altering clock frequencies / multipliers or memory timing / voltage, to operate outside of AMD's published specifications will void any applicable AMD product warranty, even when enabled via AMD hardware and/or software. This may also void warranties offered by the system manufacturer or retailer. Users assume all risks and liabilities that may arise out of overclocking and/or undervolting AMD processors, including, without limitation, failure of or damage to hardware, reduced system performance and/or data loss, corruption or vulnerability. GD-106
Similar to how Intel operates with X.M.P profiles being applied, using AMD EXPO will technically void the warranty, which seems odd given this is AMD's technology designed to offer adopters of Ryzen 7000 and AM5 an additional boost to performance through certification. When overclocking, doing so is always at the user's risk. Still, with a certification such as AMD EXPO offers, it seems a little odd that AMD is recommending optimized memory for its platform but also voids the processor's warranty.
AMD EXPO: 15 Different DDR5 Kits Available At Launch
As we previously mentioned, AMD says that there should be 15 kits of DDR5 with support for AMD EXPO ready to launch when Ryzen 7000 is released on September 27th. Some of these kits include ADATA Caster RGB and Lancer RGB models, with GeiL EVO V models and Kingston Technology Fury Beast and RGB enabled models.
G.Skill Flare X5 Memory in black with AMD EXPO certification
Corsair and G.Skill sent us information on what it is launching alongside Ryzen 7000 on September 27th. Starting with G.Skill, it announced three new kits of DDR5 for Ryzen 7000, including its Trident Z5 Neo RGB, regular Trident Z5 Neo, and the Flare X5 series. The flagship for its AMD EXPO memory is the Trident Z Neo, with four different varieties of DDR5-6000 set for launch, each with different latencies and capacities, as outlined in the table below.

The Trident Z5 Neo and RGB Neo share the same specifications, but the RGB version includes a customizable LED lightbar. The top SKU from G.Skill with AMD EXPO at launch will be the DDR5-6000 CL30-38-38-96 kit, which is available in capacities of 2 x 16 GB (32 GB). The Flare X5 replaces the older Flare X series for DDR4 and features a lower profile heatsink at just 33 mm tall; this makes it more compatible for users with space restrictions of large tower coolers that restrict larger and more aggressive heatsink designs such as the Trident Z5 Neo.
New Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5 for AMD Ryzen 7000
Focusing on what Corsair has announced for its AMD EXPO certified memory, it has two new varieties of DDR5 memory. This includes new premium Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5, Vengeance DDR5, and non-RGB enabled Vengeance DDR5, all designed specifically for AMD and Ryzen 7000. The top SKU from Corsair is the Dominator Platinum RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) kit with speeds of DDR5-6000 and latencies of CL30-36-36-76. The Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5 memory for AMD EXPO will also be available in 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) kits, with speeds of DDR5-5600 CL36 and DDR5-5200 CL40 varieties.
The Corsair Vengeance RGB with AMD EXPO profiles will reach up to DDR5-6000 CL30 but will also be available in DDR5-5600 CL36 and DDR5-5200 CL40. At the time of writing, the non-RGB enabled Vengeance for AM5 will max out at DDR5-5600 CL36, with options also available in DDR5-5200 CL40 in both 2 x 16 GB (32 GB) and 2 x 32 GB (64 GB) kits.
The AMD EXPO DDR5 memory kits will launch at the same time as AMD's Ryzen 7000 desktop processors and AMD X670E and X670 motherboards: September 27th. None of the memory vendors have provided us with any pricing at the time of writing.
Olivia Newton John was a multi talented person as she was a star in the music and acting world. Her most notable acting role was in the 1978 musical film alongside her co-star John Travolta. During Newton John's lifetime, she released 23 solo studio albums, 40 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and her most successful song being Physical. Not only was it her most successful song, it spent No. 1 for 10 straight weeks from late 1981 into 1982. It was the top song on Billboard's greatest songs of the 80s and spent the most time in Hot 100 charts in during that decade. Besides being talented as a actress and singer, she had talent when it came to the business side of things.
In 2005 Newton John co founded the luxury resort Gaia Retreat & Spa. What interested her in the property was the appearance and color of the landscape. Forbes reported, "Olivia fell in love with the property fell it possesses a magical quality and even dreamt about calling it Gaia Resort." Before selling the resort this past October, they received notable achievements like being named the world's leader retreat by world travel, the world travel awards, and the best spa hotel in the world in 2015. The property was sold for $30 million and bought by a private Australian investment group named Tattarang.
Olivia Newton John has homes in Florida, California and Australia. Her Santa Ynez home cost around $4.69 million. In 2019, she sold her New South Wales home for 3.9 million and the majority of her properties as a result of her stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis a year prior. Her husband John Easterling has full ownership of her California horse ranch and Newton John spend the last days of her life over there. A month later, her Australian vila, located in Dalwood, sold for $4.6 million. With all the money she acquired from selling her properties, she was able use it for her philanthropy efforts. She was able to launch the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Center with the help of government funding, which costed $189 million in total. She also started the Olivia Newton John Fund and spent her time animals rights and environmental causes.
This is a venture many including her devoted fans may not know or remember that she was involved with. Back in the 80s, she was a co-owner of a fashion label and boutique stores. The idea for her boutique Koala Blue, short for Korner of Australia L.A., was inspired by her missing being home and the food in Australia during the concert tour for the album Physical. She wanted to create a place where she can find these treats that she missed so much from her native home. Her friend Pat Farrar agreed to form Koala Blue as she was also considering opening a shop before their conversation about it.
Newton John explained how the idea came together and said, "we went back to Australia last Christmas, and we looked at the clothes and saw designs with kangaroos and koalas and wallabies; it was the perfect timing for us since these things were very different, very novel." The first business opened doors in 1983, located at Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, and included the Australian snacks that she was craving for and missing out on at home. They had aspirations to have 120 stores, but the highest amount they had at one point was 60. All their businesses shut down in 1993 as the recession during that time was too much of a blow for them to recover from. This was not a venture that lasted for decades, but it still served Newton John a way to still experience Australia through fashion and food while being away from home for long periods at a time.
Her personal battles with cancer inspired her to create the Olivia Newton John Fund, which is a charity that sponsors worldwide research for plant based cancer treatments. The research will be used to educate both caregivers and patients gentle ways to combat cancer. The fund is currently involved in five studies related to breast cancer and cannabis. It is currently involved with five studies with some of them being related to the relationship between breast cancer and cannabis and how that could help counter it.
According to the National Cancer Institute about 35,000 plant species have been researched to see how effective they are as cancer treatment. Out of those 35,000, 3000 have been found as effective treatment. On the fund's website there is a store that has not been opened yet, but with the death of Newton John might give extra inspiration to launch it as soon as possible.
Over the last couple of months, the rumor mill surrounding AMD's impending Ryzen 7000 processors for desktops has been in overdrive. Although Lisa Su unveiled Zen 4 back at CES 2022, it's been anticipated that the new AM5 platform would include multiple chipsets, much like AM4 has over 500+ motherboard lifespan from X370, X470, X570, and every chipset in between.
AMD announced its X670E, X670, and B650 chipsets during the AMD Keynote at Computex 2022, and this evening, AMD has announced a fourth chipset for Ryzen 7000, the B650E chipset. The B650E chipset will run alongside the already announced B650 chipset, but as it's part of AMD's 'Extreme' series of chipsets, it will benefit from PCIe 5.0 lanes to at least one M.2 slot, as well as optional support for PCIe 5.0 to a PCIe graphics slot, features not available with standard B650 boards.
During AMD's Keynote at Computex 2022, AMD's CEO Lisa Su unveiled three AM5 chipsets designed to harness the power of its 5 nm Zen 4 cores within the Ryzen 7000 processors. We already knew the AM5 socket was based around a Lane Grid Array (LGA) socket with 1718 pins, aptly named LGA1718. Some of the significant benefits coming to AM5 include native PCIe 5.0 support from the CPU, not just for use with the PCIe slots, but also in the way of PCIe 5.0 storage, where the first consumer drives are expected to start rolling out in November 2022.
AMD's latest announcement of the B650E (Extreme) chipset gives motherboard vendors and users the option of a lower-cost platform but without sacrificing the longevity and expansion support of PCIe 5.0. The X670E chipset is reserved for its most premium models, such as the flagship ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme motherboard, unveiled at Computex 2022.

Using PCIe 5.0 lanes requires a more premium PCB, usually with more layers which allows the tracks to keep signal integrity, but this typically adds cost. The existence of the B650E chipset will enable vendors to use more expensive PCIe 5.0 laning with more modest controller sets, which allow vendors to offset the cost. Ideally, it gives users a broader and more future-proof platform to upgrade with, but without breaking the bank on unnecessary controller sets; users wanting the best controller sets should opt for X670 or X670E.
This ultimately means that AMD will have a mainstream platform that has PCIe 5.0 by default (B650E) and a lower-cost alternative with just PCIe 4.0 lanes to the PEG and M.2 slots. AMD is strongly prodding motherboard vendors to offer at least one PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot for storage on most of their boards, as this is one of the main benefits of AMD's AM5 platform.
As announced by AMD during its together we advance_PCs event, the Ryzen 7000 processors for desktop will launch on September 27th, with both motherboards from the X670E and X670 chipsets. The motherboards featuring the B650E and B650 chipsets will be available to purchase at a later date in October.
During the time that she was a struggling single mother, J.K. Rowling is rumored to have written the first Harry Potter books on an ancient typewriter in a cafe in Edinburgh. However, because Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was such a smashing success, it wasn't long before she becamethe epitome of the "rags to riches" story. As of 2022,J.K. Rowling has a net worth of $1 billion. So, let’s see the inside look of J.K. Rowling’s $2.5 million mansion that inspired the Harry Potter books.
J.K. Rowling's first novel has now sold a staggering 120 million copies, despite the fact that it was turned down for publication by a total of 12 different publishing houses until she ultimately signed a contract. Even though she has donated tens of millions of pounds to various charitable causes, she is now a fixture on the lists of the wealthiest people in Britain.
And even though she had a hard time making ends meet, the best-selling authorwas eventually able to purchase her own magnificent estate for the price of $2.25 million, which is where she wrote a number of the books in the magical series. J.K. Rowling, her husband, Dr. Neil Murray, and their three children made their home in one of the city of Edinburgh's most affluent neighborhoods in the beautiful period property.
There was even a writing room in the property's beautiful garden, which is sure to have served as a source of motivation for the author as she finished penning the Harry Potter series. When the house was first placed up for sale in 2009, it was sold within the first six weeks, and the real estate agent's website received more than 16,000 views during that period.
The detached two-storyluxury mansionhas an office structure in the backyard that could have been JK's place of business. The home has a total of two levels. Despite the fact that it had been remodeled, the real estate agent, Rettie, stated that the changes had been made to "complement retained Victorian era characteristics." The garden is referred to as a "discreet planted and walled garden," It also features a bright summer house ideal for passing the time during beautiful summer evenings when the weather is pleasant.
There is a two-car garage in addition to a number of outbuildings.Rettie director James Whitsonmade the following statement: "It was an honor to be entrusted with the sale of such a storied home in Edinburgh, which is known for its rich history. The fact that we were able to find a buyer in such a short amount of time illustrates that even in the most difficult of economic conditions, we are well-positioned to meet the demands of our customers who are at the highest end of the market.” She added, “in addition to this, it also demonstrates that there is a shortage of quality supply in Edinburgh and that when any property is correctly priced and located in a prime position, it will draw significant interest and, in the majority of cases, a buyer.”

AMD’s "together we advance_PCs”l ivestream presentation just wrapped up moments ago, where AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su set the stage for the release of the next generation of AMD Ryzen desktop CPUs. Building off of AMD’s Ryzen 7000 announcement back at Computex 2022, the eagerly anticipated presentation laid out AMD’s launch plans for their first family of Zen 4 architecture-based CPUs, which will see AMD kick things off with a quartet of enthusiast-focused chips. Topping out with the 16 core Ryzen 9 7950X, AMD’s Ryzen 7000 chips will be launching in just over 4 weeks’ time, on September 27th, with AMD expecting to handily retake the performance crown across virtually all categories of the PC CPU space, from gaming to content creation.
Driving AMD’s gains in this newest generation of desktop CPUs is a combination of architectural improvements underpinning the Zen 4 architecture, as well as moving production of the CPU core chiplets to TSMC’s leading-edge 5nm process. The combination of which will allow AMD to deliver what they are saying is now a 13% increase in IPC over their Zen 3 architecture – up from an 11% claim as of Computex – as well as a sizable increase in CPU clockspeeds. The top-end Ryzen 9 7950X will have a maximum turbo clockspeed of 5.7GHz, 800MHz (16%) higher than the equivalent Ryzen 9 5950X. As a result, AMD expects to deliver a 29% generational increase in single-threaded performance, and even more in multi-threaded workloads.
Russell Westbrook has had a successful career in the NBA with many accomplishments including a MVP in 2017, 9 All-Star appearances and a probable first ballot Hall of Famer when his career is all finished. Westbrook in the back end of his career and it seems that he has plans on what to do after basketball. Not every former NBA player can say they figured their retirement plans and possibly go broke. Instead of waiting for retirement to decide what to do after basketball, he is getting a head start right now. His smarts on the court have translated into the business world as well.
According to Forbes, Westbrook's net worth is a total of $59 million. He earned $44 million during the 2021-22 NBA season, meaning he has possibly made more through his investments and other business ventures. Last year, he made $63 million investment with the digital platform Varo Bank. They stated their mission is to assist people who are haven't been properly treated by the American financial system and are in need of affordable banking. Westbrook said, "I am excited and ready to work with Varo to be a part of an economic revitalization for those who never had the access they deserved."
In June 2021, Westbrook formed a partnership with Hennessy to form a project called the "Make Moves That Start Movements." It is intended to elevate the NBA's Unfinished Business program, which was started to help out minority small business owners that got affected during the pandemic. Through this business relationship, he is also using it as a way to spread the word of his fashion Honor The Gift. He said on a Hennessy commercial, it's to inspire "inner city" and "under served communities" through fashion as that's one of one his biggest passions outside of basketball.
Westbrook said his business relationship formed with Hennessy due to him resonating with their motto "never stop, never settle." It's a message that he applies to whatever he does whether it's playing basketball, fashion or other ventures that he is passionate about. When he discovered what Hennessy was doing in unprivileged areas, he wanted to utilize this collaboration opportunity to make positive changes in those communities.
Russell Westbrook has been associated with car dealerships for the majority of his NBA career. His first few years in the league when he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, he would do commercials with local car owner Bob Nouri. Over the years, the years they started to bond and the light heart commercials transitioned into a serious business move. When Nouri relocated his business to California, Westbrook bought it and gave the store a twist that only a NBA player could think of. He installed a basketball hoop and Nouri said, "you’d be amazed how many customers, after they make their deals [and] while they’re waiting to finance, go there and start shooting basketball." In total, Westbrook owns 10 car dealerships in the Southern California area.
It is the name of the production company Westbrook launched in order to give a platform for black storytellers to tell their truth. This year, he has produced two projects through Zero World Media. One titled Why Not? showcases the disadvantages that the youth in Crenshaw, Los Angeles deal with in a world that has become more on dependent technology. This film illustrates these realities by focusing on a high school basketball who no longer can play and finds a alternate route to make an impact on his community.
The second release Tulsa Burning is documentary about the 1921 Tulsa race massacre, which was an attack orchestrated by white supremacists on black people. Westbrook said "this is one of many overlooked stories of African Americans in this country that deserves to be told." He added that he was never taught about the massacre when he went to school. The documentary accomplished an incredible feat by receiving three Emmy nominations for writing on a nonfiction piece, music in a documentary and sound editing.
On his company's website it states "Russell Westbrook Enterprises brings together Russell's relentless work ethic and his earnest pursuit to positively impact his communities. RWE works to inspire and uplift global communities through investments and strategic partnerships." Recently Westbrook along with Casual IQ teamed up the form a new advertising venture called RW Digital. They have an impressive set of clients as a new member of the industry with companies like PepsiCo, American Airlines Group , At&t and A + E Networks. Westbrook may become another NBA star that earned more outside of their basketball career as he slowly transitions into the next phase of his life.
At long last the date is here. AMD this evening will be broadcasting their "together we advance_PCs” event, which will be focused around the upcoming launch of their next-generation Ryzen 7000 processors.
AMD first unveiled their Ryzen 7000 platform and branding back at Computex 2022, offering quite a few high-level details on the forthcoming consumer processor platform while stating it would be launching in the fall. The new CPU family will feature up to 16 Zen 4 cores using TSMC's optimized 5 nm manufacturing process for the Core Complex Die (CCD), and TSMC’s 6nm process for the I/O Die (IOD). AMD has not disclosed a great deal about the Zen 4 architecture itself, though their Computex presentation has indicated we should expect a several percent increase in IPC, along with a further several percent increase in peak clockspeeds, allowing for a 15%+ increase in single-threaded performance.
The Ryzen 7000 series is also notable for being the first of AMD’s chiplet-based CPUs to integrate a GPU – in this case embedding it in the IOD. The modest GPU allows for AMD’s CPUs to supply their own graphics, eliminating the need for a discrete GPU just to boot a system while, we expect, providing enough performance for basic desktop work.
Tonight's presentation, in turn, should finally see AMD moving on to talking about launch details for the Ryzen 7000 CPUs and the associated AM5 platform. That should include performance expectations and a bit more on the motherboards. And, of course, information on the specific chip SKUs that will be hitting the market, including core configurations, clockspeeds, and prices. With any luck we may get a bit more on the Zen 4 architecture as well, as alongside CEO Dr. Lisa Su, CTO Mark Papermaster is slated to present part of the event.
The event is set to kick off tonight, August 29th, at 7pm ET (23:00 UTC). So be sure to join us for our live blog coverage around the announcement of the next generation of AMD desktop CPUs.
Hailing from a working-class family, Mark Cuban found his entrepreneurial spirit at 12 when he sold coins and stamps. After graduating college and working at a software retailer, Cuban opened his software reseller company MicroSolutions which was sold in 1990 for $6 million, with him making $2 million from the deal. After starting his company Broadcast.com in 1999, the business grew until it was sold to Yahoo! for $5.7 billion. Known for making intelligent decisions, Cuban sold his shares soon after and made $2.5 billion in cash before the Dotcom burst. With a net worth of over $5 billion, Mark Cuban has spent millions buying an NBA team, private jets, arthouse movie theatres and investing in businesses throughShark Tank.
While the mogul does not spend much on real estate, one of his latest purchases was an exclusive beach house in California that cost him a whopping $19 million. A luxurious home unlike any other, let’s look inside Mark Cuban’s Laguna beach residence.
When Christmas was around the corner in 2018, Mark Cuban added a second real estate property to his list with the Laguna Beach residency. Located on the Southern California coast, the estate is one of the only 13 properties at The Montage, an exclusive gated neighborhood that offers limited residences. The stone-finished house was constructed in 2010 before renovating with various owners and purchased by the billionaire mogul in 2018.
The beach house was first put on sale in January 2018 through a listing service for $25.995 million. However, through several negotiations, the price dropped before Mark Cuban purchased it for $19 million. The listing was held by Villa Real Estate’s John and Tyler Stanaland, while Cuban was represented by Tim Smith of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, as noted by the LA Times. It became the highest sale in the Montage Residences community for 2018. The contemporary-style home is the ideal vacation residence for Cuban and his family to enjoy downtime.
Featuring six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, the Laguna mansion offers scenic views of the Pacific Ocean from each direction. According to Mansion Global, the estate is surrounded by walls to provide privacy, and a paved entryway leads to the entrance of the 8,000 square feet of home. With high ceilings, mahogany finishes, and eye-catching artworks, each common area offers glass doors that disappear to connect the indoor and outdoor spaces. Along with the cozy rooms, the additional amenities feature two family rooms, an office, a library, a theatre, and a gym. The lower level in the house has a bar and built-in wine cellar that holds 800 wine bottles.
The media room has ample seating space with three widescreen-LED televisions that Cuban can use to watch a Mavericks match. The kitchen is on the main floor is designed with a splash of white, featuring matching cabinets, marble countertops, and a comfortable breakfast bar, as stated by Forbes. The outdoors features another kitchen that has a pizza oven, wine cooler, and a glass grill. Outside, the home offers stunning ocean views and lush trees surrounding the estate. No lavish home can be completed without a pool overlooking the view, and Cuban’s estate also has a linear fireplace with a seating area for optimum relaxation.
Using comfort and technology, Cuban’s estate is equipped with integrated electronic systems that control the environment, audio/visual, and lighting. The home offers chic and luxurious decor, with some of the architecture nodding to the ocean. According to Business Insider, as it is built inside the exclusive oceanfront community Montage, Cuban has access to hotel amenities, including housekeeping, room service, concierge, and a space. The artistic colony where the mogul resides during his off-time is worth more than $350 million today.
Soon after becoming a millionaire, Mark Cuban set his roots in Dallas and purchased a $13 million home in 1999. Spanning seven acres of land, the home is a more traditional chateau-style estate compared to the modern aesthetics of his California beach home. More recently, Cuban purchased a small town in Texas called Mustang which is 55 miles away from Dallas and has a population of 21 people. Bought for an undisclosed amount, the mogul is not sure what plans he has with the property yet.
Known for just the three real estate purchases, the Laguna Beach home owned by Mark Cuban remains his most expensive property and comes with a myriad of technological amenities, from an indoor-outdoor blend of living to integrated switches for various controls. Cuban often spends summers with the family at his Southern California comfort estate.
Born on November 18th, 1970 in Indiana, Mike Epps is part of the new school of stand-up comedians who also crossed over into Hollywood acting, along with others of his era such as Adam Sandler, Katt Williams, Kevin Hart, and the multitalented Jamie Foxx. Although he does his best to stay out of the limelight, it hasn't stopped his success as a comedian, an unexpected actor, and even a rapper. His breakout role came in 2000 in the second installment of rapper/actor Ice Cube's stoner comedy film, Next Friday, which grossed $59 million at the global box office. While his jokes and actions have landed him in trouble with the law, Mike Epps has still managed to amass a $8 million net worth in addition to a lavish lifestyle. Here is a look at Mike Epps' insane car collection.
As a middle-aged man with a multi-million-dollar bank account, Epps can afford to buy himself a few trinkets for all his hard work in making others laugh. While he may not have the boastful real estate portfolio of his fellow comedian and original Friday star, Chris Tucker, Epps has done well for himself in his profession. He is especially proud of his car collection, which consists of one of his most prized vehicles, a 1964 Buick Riviera. According to Automotive Mileposts, the vehicle is powered by a 425 cubic inch 340 horsepower engine, but the custom finishing done by Epps is what made this classic automobile truly unique. In addition to its light-gold painted color, he decked the interior out with Gucci headliner and suede, matching the golden exterior and bringing its overall price to $70,000.
The popularity of Range Rovers among Hollywood celebrities and even Her Majesty the Queen has been broadcast through rap and pop songs for years now. Not only are they epitome of style and class in a luxury SUV, but the 5.0 liter V8 supercharged engine with 8-speed automatic transmission that peaks at 510 horsepower, giving it speed and swiftness that stands out compared to other SUVs in its class. With ability to reach 0-60 MPH in only 5.1 seconds, it's no wonder adrenaline junkies like James Bond's star actor Daniel Craig and soccer legend David Beckham, as well as renowned music artists like Justin Bieber and the rap extraordinaire Jay Z also keep a Range Rover in their garage, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 2013 model would've run Epps roughly $125,000.
Undoubtedly the most expensive luxury vehicle on Epps' garage list, the 2013 Rolls Royce Ghost is another staple in the car collections of the rich and famous. The massive four-door Sedan is backed by a twin turbo 6.6 V12 engine, boasting 563 horsepower with 8-speed automatic transmission. And, as you might have expected, only the wealthiest celebrities and media personalities own this elite specimen of a vehicle, from GTM Boxing Promotions CEO Floyd 'Money' Mayweather and Shaquille O'Neal to Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Jenner. Despite being of an older model, the average price tag on the 2013 Rolls Royce Ghost is $246,500.
From Resident Evil: Extinction in 2004 starring Milla Jovovich and Iain Glen to All About The Benjamins - there isn't a part you could offer Mike Epps that he wouldn't be able to execute. However, movie parts aren't the only thing he is skilled in. He is also good with car parts and has been spotted on social media showcasing the work of his hands with stunning vehicles he has crafted from start to finish. One of those vehicles is the 1932 Ford "T-Bone" Roadster which he mounted himself, powered by a three-stroke 350 Chevrolet V8 engine with 26-inch wire rims that effortlessly stands out.
According to Classic Auto Mall, the T-bucket is a two-seater and the front wheels are much smaller than the rear wheels, often using motorcycle wheels. Given all the interior and exterior work Epps did on the Roadster, it would be estimated at $70,000.
Despite owning a few of the more modern examples of luxury vehicles as per the standard in celebrity circles, it's clear to see that The House Next Door: Meet The Blacks 2 actor has a love for vintage and classic cars. His next beauty is a 1996 BMW 850i which Epps explains in a video that he has brought back to life from scratch using his own hands. Also known as a 1996 BMW 8 Series, the coupe holds a 4.4 liter V8 engine with 282 horsepower at 5700 RPM. The selling for one of these starts at $20,400, but after installing a brand new Rolls Royce interior and a swanky paint job, its value increased to $200,000. Who would've thought that a class act like Epps could be a mechanic?
Mike Epps revealed in his car collection interview with GQ that his new car project at the time was a 1957 Chevy Bel-air Convertible which he fitted with a new Chevrolet Camaro custom chrome 6.2-liter V8 engine that can generate up to 520 horsepower and go accelerate from 0-60 MPH in under 6.6 seconds. That's a lot of power under the hood of an old Chevy model, but it's clear that Epps is as passionate about revamping cars as he his about his career as an actor/comedian! At least now we know that Aquaman's Jason Momoa isn't the only person who values cars that look like they were featured in an Elvis Presley movie.
While Roberto Cavalli initially showcased his fashion through commissioned projects under big fashion houses, he launched his namesake brand in 1994 during the Milan Fashion Week, bringing a fresh wave of trends and style to fashion. Opening several boutiques and launching different lines of fashion. Roberto Cavalli, as the brand name, has designed some of the most iconic dresses in recent times and continues to work in the field of fashion actively. With his $500 million fortune, Cavalli loves to splurge his net worth on rare cars, stunning residences, and a fine art collection. Another expensive purchase made by the designer was a stunning superyacht he commissioned which cost him more than a whopping $14 million.
Brooding and sleek on the outside but colorful and lively through its interior, the Freedom Superyacht is a unique combination of elegant comfort. An award-winning motorboat built to perfection, let’s take a look inside Roberto Cavalli’s $14 million Freedom Superyacht, often seen on his vacations.
Cerri Cantieri Navali is an Italian luxury shipyard company known for commissioning some of the most exclusive yachts in the world. In 2017, CCN announced that its 28-meter superyacht was sold, but the details were kept under wraps until it was completed in 2019. As mentioned by Boat International, Roberto Cavalli gave a first glimpse at his yacht at the 2019 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards designed by Tommaso Spadolini. Inspired by Batman, the Freedom Superyacht comes with aggressive lines, spacious rooms, and refreshing architecture, standing true to its name.
While standing on the bow, it is clearly understood that the boat has a unique design with an upward slope. Despite its limited length, Freedom is low on the water and offers more volume than expected. The bow offers a large garage to store 3.8 meters of tender. With a lower deck and main deck, each floor is divided into various areas of function. The Bridge on the main deck has the wheelhouse of the yacht that can be directly accessed from the Master Cabin, allowing Cavalli to drive the boat when he wants, as noted by Auto Evolution. With 160-degree visibility, it offers stunning sea views and direct access to the crew quarters.
Roberto Cavalli is known for his love of animal prints, most notably leopard and zebra, and Spadolini incorporated those elements while designing the Master Cabin. The room has access to a small flybridge deck and the lounge area. The interior showcases his bold personality through the prints, and parts of the room come with green walls. One of the cabins in the superyacht is designed all black, inspired by the Dark Avenger. The lower deck features a VIP cabin, two guest cabins, and one twin cabin.
As mentioned by Maxim, Freedom has two kitchens, one indoor and the other one located outdoors, and features leopard-printed seating areas. The unusual galley of the boat sees the kitchen on the lower deck as Cavalli loves to cook and needs larger space. The galley is bigger than his bedroom. The interior has printed sky decor around the open space. The outdoor dining space has a sliding glass door that offers a direct sea view. Designed in white, the couch comes with another set of leopard-printed pillows.
While the initial designs of Freedom showcase expansive lines and structures, it took many iterations to achieve the final result of the sleek yacht. Not only is the superyacht designed to perfection, but due to its compact size, it is fast. Robb Report states that Freedom is powered by three strong engines connected to the water jet that reach a maximum speed of 40 knots. The life at sea for Cavalli is showcased in every aspect of the design of the superyacht through sea, sky, and clouds as motifs for the standard room designs.
An ambitious project by CCN, the superyacht surpassed expectations after showcasing the final result to people worldwide. The unique design of Freedom propelled it to win the Best General Arrangement and Best Exterior Styling Awards at the 2019 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards. Inside and out, the superyacht is a stunning design of innovation that viewers and critics appreciate. Additionally, Freedom is the ideal superyacht for Cavalli to throw his legendary and unforgettable parties in port or out in the sea.
Robert Cavalli actively helped design Freedom, a superyacht he believes depicts the personality of Batman. Breaking stereotypes of typical large vessel boats, the fashion mogul designed the boat, so he could not only use it for leisure, parties, and cooking but also drive it by entering the wheelbase accessible from his wonderful master cabin.
