Here's A Insight Into The Overall Finances Of RMS Titanic

The RMS Titanic is one of the most well-known and talked-about vessels ever set out to sea. James Cameron’s movie Titanic (19997) continued the world’s obsession with the ship after romanticizing the Titanic’s story. On April 10, 1912, Titanic set off on its maiden voyage, carrying around 2,233 people aboard, as noted by CNNHistory shared that Titanic’s whimsy was based on being one of the largest ships with “the greatest hull” during its time. It was also ironically known as “The Unsinkable Ship” by its design team, because of the ship's water-tight compartments below deck. If there were a leak, the ship would, theoretically, continue because the water wouldn’t flood into other parts of the vessel.

Unfortunately, on the Titanic’s journey from Brittain to New York, the vessel hit a catastrophic iceberg that proved its engineers, captains, and passengers wrong — the Titanic was sinking. After just two hours and 40 minutes after the hit, Titanic was split into two and was under the Atlantic Ocean. Because of the prestige of Titanic, the number of passengers aboard, and the shocking realities of improper safety regulations at the time, the sinking is still talked about today. This is especially the case considering how much money went into and was on the vessel.

RELATED: Watch A Band Plays The Theme From Titanic In The Middle Of A Flooding Mall

The Titanic had three classes aboard: first, second, and third. Titanic Story explained that the three classes were kept separate aboard, with each class having different luxuries and amenities from the other. Considering how important the Titanic was (the ship was also a mail carrier, carrying thousands of letters and boxes for those in America from Britain), tickets to get on the vessel were incredibly expensive.

One of the more interesting facts about the Titanic is that even third-class tickets were pricey. BBC noted back in 1912, a third-class ticket cost a passenger £7, which is now around £800 in money today (or a little over $1,000). Considering the fee for the time period, $1,000 for a ticket was very expensive for those in third class, which only proves how valued the Titanic was. A ticket for second class in 1912 was £13, which is about £1,500 in today's money (or a little over $1,890). Knowing how expensive third- and second-class tickets were, those in first-class paid a hefty price tag for a swanky stay. The site continued that a ticket in first class cost around £30, which is now over £3,300 (or a little over $4,100).

Because the Titanic was so lavish and made to seem better than other vessels, those on board dressed to impress and brought items to make themselves feel more comfortable. Many on board were going to America in hopes of a new life and had brought only the best with them. On top of regal cargo, the luxurious vessel was also decorated in fine furnishings, carrying pricey bottles of wine and decor.

Designed to carry over 3,300 people and their private items, along with entertainment, food, furnishings, and beyond, the Titanic had $11 million (in today's money) attached to its passengers and their belongings. Another point that many forget that contributed to the thousands of dollars, is the cargo Titanic was carrying as part of its duty as a mail ship.

At the time, the Titanic was one of the most prestigious vessels to set sail. As one of the largest ships of its kind, the world fell in love with the idea of the Titanic and what it could mean for future voyages. Made of steel and housing 16 compartments that were watertight and theoretically ready for battle instead of the seas, it took nearly two years to build, as noted by National Geographic.

Court Theatre shared that within those two years, the British White Star Line (a large shipping company that owned and operated the Titanic) spent $7.5 million building the Titanic to make it one of the best vessels the world had ever seen. In today's dollars, the company spent almost $200 million to make the Titanic a possibility. Considering the resources and the time period, it's amazing the Titanic was the size that it was for being built in just two years. What makes the Titanic so fascinating to the world is that despite millions of dollars, being called "unsinkable," and being incredibly large, the ship was still brought down by an iceberg in the middle of the night.

Very few artifacts have been recovered from the ship. In fact, Titanic's resting place was only founded in 1985. It's quite difficult to dive and recover some of the finer things that went down with the ship some 12,000 feet under the ocean, but adventurists and enthusiasts dream of a world where they're able to access more of the vessel's belongings.

Tia Mowry Wins Divorce As Court Decides She Wont Have To Pay Child & Spousal Support

It’s been nearly a year since Tia Mowry filed for divorce from Cory Hardrict, but the terms of their split were only finalized recently. Fortunately for Tia, it appears to have worked out in her favor.

According to court documents, Cory and Tia agreed to a settlement in which neither of them will have to pay child or spousal support. Rather, they’ll split expenses for their two children on an ongoing basis, including school tuition and extracurricular activities costs.

Additionally, the exes have agreed to share joint and legal custody.

Tia also had another victory in the divorce settlement – she’s allowed to retain full ownership of their $4.3 million Studio City mansion. They originally bought it in 2015 for $2.6 million.

While the divorce settlement seems straight-forward, it includes an interesting clause pertaining to introducing future romantic partners to their children.

"Each party is restrained from introducing the minor children to a new romantic partner until the party has been in an exclusive relationship with the romantic partner for at least six months,” the clause states, court documents reveal.

The settlement also prohibits Cory and Tia from speaking negatively about one another in front of their two children. It also states they have to ensure family and friends respect this, too.

Tia announced they were divorcing after 14 years of marriage in an Instagram post in October.

"I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways," the Sister, Sister actress wrote. "These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children."

Tia didn’t provide a reason for their break-up, but hinted the split was amicable.

"I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives,” she continued.

Cory and Tia married in 2008 after meeting while filming Hollywood Horror. They have two kids: son, Cree, 11, and daughter, Cairo, 4.

The pair signed a prenuptial agreement ahead of their marriage, which likely made the divorce process simpler. When Tia filed for divorce, she asked the court to terminate spousal support, and Cory didn’t challenge her request.

Tia is reportedly worth $4 million, while Cory has a net worth of $3 million.

A Look The Rise And Fall Of NBA Star Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt Chamberlain, a name synonymous with basketball greatness, dominated the NBA during his illustrious career in the 1960s. His incredible athleticism and skill on the court earned him numerous accolades and records, many of which still stand today. However, Chamberlain's life off the court was just as fascinating, marked by a considerable misfortune that ultimately deprived him of earning a staggering $500 Million.

Chamberlain's journey to NBA stardom was nothing short of extraordinary. His talent and determination propelled him to the pinnacle of the basketball world, but an unfortunate event stopped him from reaching the pinnacle of financial success.

Wilt Chamberlain was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 21, 1936. He grew up in a racially segregated neighborhood and attended Overbrook High School, where he excelled in basketball, track, and field. Chamberlain's exceptional height and athleticism made him a standout player, and he quickly gained recognition as one of the country's best high school basketball players.

After graduating high school, Chamberlain attended the University of Kansas, where he continued dominating the competition and set numerous records. In his sophomore year, he led the Jayhawks to the NCAA championship game, where they lost to North Carolina. Chamberlain's performance in college eventually led to his selection by the Philadelphia Warriors in the 1959 NBA Draft, as per Britannica.

Chamberlain quickly established himself as one of the best players in the league. In his rookie season, he averaged an incredible 37.6 points per game and was named Rookie of the Year. He continued to dominate over the next several years, setting records for points scored in a single game and rebounds in a single season.

Chamberlain's NBA career was legendary, to say the least. He played for the Philadelphia Warriors, San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Lakers, earning 13 All-Star selections, four MVP awards, and two NBA championships. His most famous record, scoring 100 points in a single game, remains unbroken to this day, as per NBC Sports.

Chamberlain's impact on basketball is undeniable, and his name will forever be etched in the annals of NBA history. Chamberlain's success on the court translated into financial success off the court. He was one of the highest-paid players in the league, and he also made money through endorsements and other business ventures, leading to an astounding $10 Million net worth.

Wilt Chamberlain's close relationship with Ike Richman, a Philadelphia businessman, and personal attorney, could have made him millions. Richman was a co-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers and offered Chamberlain 25% ownership of the team. However, the deal fell through after Richman suffered a heart attack in 1965, and Irf Kosloff, the other co-owner, refused to honor the agreement. Additionally, an active player is forbidden to own an NBA team, so Chamberlain would have had to wait until his retirement to become a part-owner.

RELATED: Here’s What Led To The Downfall Of NBA Star Ben Simmons

Chamberlain could have made as much as $612 million if the deal had gone through, as the 76ers are now valued at $2.45 billion, according to Basketball Network. This missed opportunity stood out like a sore thumb in his career and resulted in the staggering loss of potential wealth for the NBA legend.

Despite Wilt Chamberlain’s frustrating and unfortunate potential $500 Million loss, he continued to excel in his career. While playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, Chamberlain played a crucial role in leading the team to an NBA championship in 1972, cementing his status as a basketball legend. According to Yardbarker, after 14 remarkable seasons in the NBA, Chamberlain chose to retire from professional basketball at the age of 36 in 1973. His retirement signaled the end of an era, with fans and fellow players bidding farewell to one of the most dominant and influential athletes in the sport's history.

In the years following his retirement from basketball, Chamberlain faced numerous health issues. In 1991, he underwent a heart procedure, and doctors later diagnosed him with an irregular heartbeat. Despite these challenges, Chamberlain remained active in the sports world, participating in various charity events and mentoring young athletes.

On October 12, 1999, Wilt Chamberlain passed away at 63 due to congestive heart failure. His death marked the end of an era as the basketball world mourned the loss of one of its greatest icons. Chamberlain's legacy, both on and off the court, continues to captivate fans and inspire future generations of athletes.

Wilt Chamberlain's story is one of incredible success on the court and one of misfortune that prevented him from potentially amassing even greater wealth. He inarguably impacted the game, and people will forever remember his name as one of the greatest players ever to grace the game. Chamberlain's missed opportunity to become a part-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers serves as a reminder that even the most successful individuals can encounter unforeseen circumstances that alter the course of their lives.

Here's How Shia LaBeouf Became A Hollywood Star | TheRichest.com

While he can't be categorized as most other child stars who didn't transition into being successful adult actors, Shia LaBeouf's life has nonetheless been a bit of a roller coaster ride. There have been moments of extreme highs as well as moments of tremendous lows that he has experienced in his acting career. The actor, performance artist, and filmmaker got his start on the Disney Channel series Even Stevens in the early 2000s before his film career actually took off. Some of his greatest movie collaborations include actress Megan Fox, British actor Hugo Weaving, actor/singer Tyrese Gibson, Harrison Ford, Jon Voight, and Sigourney Weaver. At age 37, he has appeared in at least 41 movies, from which he has made a sumptuous living. Let's discover how Shia LaBeouf built his $30 million net worth as an actor.

Although he began acting at a young age, LaBeouf is anything but a spoiled Hollywood brat. The Disturbia actor was born in Los Angeles, California on June 11th, 1986 to parents that he described as "pretty weird people." His father, Jeffery LaBeouf, was a professional clown from Louisiana and his mother, Shayna Saide, was Jewish and worked as a professional dancer, jewelry designer, and visual artist. Because of his mother's Jewish heritage and his father's Christian beliefs, LaBeouf claimed that he was able to experience both lifestyles.

Because of their unorthodox ways, LaBeouf would describe his parents as having "a hippy lifestyle," but they divorced when he was at a tender age, mainly due to financial difficulties. As a result, he moved to Echo Park with his mother where they lived in meager conditions. It was in those moments that acting came naturally to the talented boy when he would perform for his parents by mimicking his father as a way of uplifting them.

As if life wasn't tough enough for LaBeouf, at the age of ten, his father became addicted to heroin and was placed in a drug rehabilitation center. According to Celebrity Net Worth, around the same time, while he was attending Alexander Hamilton High School, he was also performing stand-up comedy at local comedy clubs, although he never became the next Jim Carrey. With his father recovering from drug addiction and his mother barely able to financially support them, LaBeouf would do whatever it took to improve their financial situation - which is the main reason he got into acting. It was also around this time that he was cast as Louis Stevens in the Disney Channel series, Even Stevens.

By the age of twelve, LaBeouf became a regular on the Evens Steven Show, which ran between 2000 and 2003, winning him a Daytime Emmy Award for his character's role. Right around the end of his tenure with the Even Stevens, he made his acting debut in the neo-Western comedy-drama, Holes, starring the Academy Award winning actor Jon Voight and actress Patricia Arquette, which turned out to be a success at the box office with $71 million in sales. LaBeouf was only twenty-one at the time, but his acting debut was impressive enough to open even greater doors of opportunity. By 2005, his next film would be Constantine, a horror film starring the Matrix trilogy star, Keanu Reeves, and Rachel Weisz, and grossing $230.9 million at the box office.

With not even a decade of acting experience, the ambitious Shia LaBeouf made his directorial debut in 2004 with a short film based on a neighborhood plagued by racial tension titled Let's Love Hate. While fans appreciated the good message in the movie, there were mixed reviews over its overall production. But the young rising star remained focused on his acting career, starring in the drama film A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints as author, filmmaker, and musician Dito Montiel, alongside legendary film stars Robert Downey Jr. and Channing Tatum. The film received decent ratings and grossed a little over $2 million worldwide.

RELATED: 15 Reasons Why Michael Bay Should Never Make Another Transformers Movie

Still at the start of his professional acting career, LaBeouf had just begun making his mark in the entertainment industry. In 2007, he would take the leading role in the psychological thriller, Disturbia, where he portrays a teenager who is put on house arrest for assaulting a school teacher, and uses the down time to spy on his neighbors, one of which he thinks is a serial killer. The film grossed $118 million at the box office and also features actor David Morse and actresses Carrie-Anne Moss and Sarah Roemer.

In the same year, he also lent his voice to the lead character in the computer-animated movie, Surf's Up, which grossed $152 million. It's estimated that he earned $400,000 each for his roles in both movies in 2007. And he was just getting started!

Again, in the same year of 2007, LaBeouf starred in the science fiction action film, Transformers, which was the first installment of the billion-dollar movie franchise. He shared the screen with a cast of other stellar entertainers, such as Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson, Hugo Weaving, and fashion model-turned-actor Josh Duhamel, and the gross box office earnings were a whopping $707 million. Shia took home a $750,000 paycheck out of that massive figure. And for the second installment, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), he received a pay increase of $5 million, as well as $15 million for reprising his role in the third installment, Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011).

Shia also joined Harrison Ford and Cate Blanchett in director Steven Spielberg's 2008 action adventure film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which grossed $790 million worldwide. In 2008, he also starred in Eagle Eye opposite Michelle Monaghan which grossed $178 million. LaBeouf's pedigree as an actor was refined, and it showed through the vast range of roles he could adapt to. His role in the 2010 drama film, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps showed the young actor as an ambitious Wall Street trader named Jacob Moore. The film grossed $134 million and LaBeouf walked away with a cool $8 million for his efforts.

As an established actor in Hollywood, LaBeouf used his influence in other avenues of entertainment, such as in Rob Cantor's music video in 2012. In the same year, he starred in the crime drama, Lawless, starring English actors Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman, which grossed a decent $54 million. He also found time to write three graphic novels and a webcomic series titled Cheek Up's, which were regarded more as passion projects. Then, in 2013 he joined the cast of the erotic art film, Nymphomaniac, alongside Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman, Christian Slater, and legendary actor Willem Dafoe, which grossed $18.5 million.

He then co-starred with film star Brad Pitt in the 2014 war film, Fury, which did well at the box office earning $211 million in ticket sales globally. In 2020, he starred in the action  thriller, The Tax Collector, opposite Bobby Sotto and Mexican comedian/actor George Lopez. However, this proved to be one of the major flops of his career, grossing only 1.3 million in VOD (video-on-demand) sales and $5 million in running digital sales against a $30 million budget.

But despite the legal issues and abuse allegations that were made against Labeouf in 2020, he managed to bounce back. According to Media Mass, he took the number one spot on People With Money's annual list of the highest-paid actors of 2023, stating that he raked in an impressive $58 million between May 2022 and May 2023. Taken from CA Knowledge, he now has an estimated net worth of around $30 million as a result of his recent earnings.

Rihanna Steps Down As CEO Of Savage x Fenty After Turning It Into Billion-Dollar Business

Since launching Savage x Fenty in 2018, Rihanna has turned the clothing and lingerie brand into a billion-dollar company. But it looks like the singer plans to be less involved in the brand, as Rihanna recently announced she’s stepping down as CEO.

“It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years,” Rihanna explained in a statement.

“This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer,” she went on. “I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO — she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”

Rihanna revealed that she’ll be replaced by Hillary Super, former CEO at Anthropologie Group, who officially stepped into the CEO position in June 26.

“I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family,” Super told Vogue Business of her new position. “The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.”

Super joins Savage x Fenty at an exciting time for the company, as it’s expanding its direct-to-consumer format by opening retail stores. The brand reportedly plans to open 7 stores across the U.S. in the coming year.

Last year, Savage x Fenty was valued at $125 million, and these numbers are likely to increase as the company expand.

The lingerie brand has helped Rihanna become one of the most powerful women in the entertainment industry. She’s reportedly worth $1.4 billion, and much of her wealth comes from Savage x Fenty as well as her makeup brand, known simply as Fenty Beauty.

Fortunately for fans, Rihanna isn’t leaving Savage x Fenty completely. Rather, she’s taken on a new position as executive chair.

It’s speculated that the change was motivated by the fact Rihanna is expecting her second child with ASAP Rocky. The couple welcomed their son, RZA, last year.

"s[They were] surprised the second pregnancy happened so fast," a source told Us Weekly in February. "They wanted another baby and were trying, but the pregnancy came sooner than expected!"

As blasphemous as that may be for many religious groups, Morgan Freeman was given the role of the Creator of the universe at what can be considered the height of his career, although he was already sixty-six years old at the time. Now, currently at eighty-six years old, Freeman has received numerous accolades for his outstanding work as an actor, producer, and narrator, such as Academy Awards, Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Golden Globe Award. In addition, he has collaborated with some of the most popular names in entertainment, both old and new, such as Canadian actor Dan Aykroyd, renowned actor Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood, Danny Glover, and the iconic Denzel Washington. Here's the story behind Morgan Freeman and how he amassed his $250 million fortune as an A-list actor.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee on June 1st, 1937, Morgan Freeman is the last son of Mamie Edna who worked as a teacher and Morgan Porterfield Freeman, who worked as a barber. Freeman was born in a time when slavery and segregation were very prevalent in the United States. It was revealed via DNA analysis that his ancestors were traced back to the Republic of Niger in West Africa. His great-grandparents were enslaved people who migrated from North Carolina to Mississippi during the abolition of slavery; the type of dehumanizing slavery you see in movies like Jamie Foxx's Django Unchained.

He moved around quite frequently with his family during his childhood, from Mississippi to Indiana, and finally settling in Chicago, Illinois. During those years, he made his acting debut at the age of nine by leading a school play, and by the age of twelve he came out victorious at a statewide drama competition. It was around this time that he discovered music and theater in school - there was no turning back from that moment on.

In an attempt to run from his calling to act, he rejected a drama scholarship from Jackson State University, choosing rather to enlist in the United States Air Force, where he served as an Automatic Tracking Radar repairman from 1955 to 1959. It was only after this time that he moved to Los Angeles, California and pursued acting classes as well as theater arts, where he also picked up dancing.

According to the Library of Congress, 1964 was the year when the Civil Rights Act was passed, which was meant to prohibit discrimination and desegregation in public settings such as in schools and places of employment. Ironically, this was the same year that Freeman began working as a dancer for the Opera Ring musical theater group in San Francisco. The same year, he acted in the play, The Royal Hunt of The Sun, whose cast also included Oliver Cotton, Graham Crowden, and the legendary Anthony Hopkins. It was after his role in this play that Freeman decided to choose acting over dancing.

With acting as his newfound passion, Freeman made his Off-Broadway debut in the 1967 play The Niggerlovers, starring alongside Viveca Lindfors and actor Stacy Keach. Then, in 1971, he got a break in the children's television series, The Electric Company, which also featured dancer and actress Rita Moreno and the controversial TV personality, Bill Cosby, which gave him much-needed recognition. Also in 1971, he was cast in actor Jack Klugman's family drama Who Says I Can't Ride A Rainbow!, which became his first credited feature film appearance. He went on to feature in multiple other stage productions in the years that followed.

In 1980, Freeman continued to expand his acting prowess with his role in the prison drama, Attica, which grossed $37.1 million at the box office. The same year, he received an Obie Award for his role in the Shakespearean tragedy Coriolanus. His second Obia Award came in 1989 for his role as a preacher in the musical The Gospel at Colonus.

He continued to dabble in soap operas and other television series thereafter, such as Another World and The Atlanta Child Murders, which kept him busy and sharpened his acting skills. The year 1989 proved to be a busy year for Freeman, as he starred alongside the acting legends Denzel Washington and Matthew Broderick, in the historical war drama, Glory, which grossed $27 million at the box office. Following that was the comedy-drama, Driving Miss Daisy ($145 million worldwide). His third dynamite film that year was Lean on Me ($31 million), followed by Walter Hill's Johnny Handsome, starring action star Mickey Rourke and actress Ellen Barkin.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, in 1987, Freeman was cast in the crime thriller, Street Smart, alongside Christopher Reeve, which earned him an Oscar Nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Besides dancing and acting, Freeman also uses his smooth yet powerful voice to narrate documentaries and television series, such as the 1990 television documentary series, The Civil War. In the following years, he went on to star in high-grossing films such as the 1991 action adventure film, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner, which grossed $390 million worldwide; Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven, starring veteran actor Gene Hackman ($159 million); The Shawshank Redemption (1994), and the medical disaster film Outbreak (1995); Seven starring Brad Pitt which grossed a whopping $327 million, and the 1998 science-fiction disaster film Deep Impact, which grossed close to $350 million.

Freeman kicked off the new millennium with a leading role in the black comedy, Nurse Betty, co-starring with comedy king Chris Rock. His next major box office hit came in 2003 with the fantasy comedy, Bruce Almighty, starring the eccentric comedian Jim Carrey, and grossing $484 million worldwide. The following year was Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby starring action actress Hilary Swank, which grossed $216 million, and which earned him an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

As a spin-off following the success of Bruce Almighty, Freeman was again cast as God in the 2007 comedy Evan Almighty, this time starring actor and comedian Steve Carell. However, the film didn't fare as well as Bruce Almighty and was a flop at the box office. The same year, he also starred in the buddy-comedy-drama, The Bucket List, alongside the legend himself, Jack Nicholson. Following that, he again teamed up with director Clint Eastwood in 2009 for the production of Invictus, where he played the role of Nelson Mandela opposite Matt Damon, which grossed $122 million. By this time, Freeman was recognized as an established actor.

As part of his more recent work, Freeman again played the role of an important White House figure in the action thriller, Olympus Has Fallen ($170 million), starring this time beside The Dark Knight star Aaron Eckhart and Gerard Butler. Another box office success for him that year was heist film, Now You See Me, which grossed $351 million. This was the first installment of the movie series, and the sequel, Now You See Me 2 (2016), grossed $334 million at the box office. In the same year, he reprised his role as Allan Trumball in London Has Fallen, a sequel to Olympus Has Fallen, which grossed $205 million globally. Then in 2019, he again reprised the same role in Angel Has Fallen, starring again beside Gerard Butler as well as actress Jada Pinkett Smith, which was another success at the box office, grossing $146 million.

Many of the smaller films Freeman has acted in have not been mentioned, and the total number of movies he has appeared in is around 113. With close to sixty years of acting on his resume, it's no wonder he has a net worth of $250 million!

The Most Expensive Basketball Cards Ever Ranked | TheRichest

Basketball cards have long been cherished by sports enthusiasts and collectors alike. While many basketball cards hold sentimental value, there is a select group that transcends mere sentiment and ascends to astronomical financial heights. This article delves into the realm of elite collectibles, exploring the rarefied air of the 9 most expensive basketball cards ever sold. From Michael Jordan to LeBron James, from iconic rookie cards to limited editions, each entry on this exclusive list showcases the passion, dedication, and deep pockets of those who seek to own a piece of basketball immortality.

8 Anthony Davis Autographed Panini National Treasures PSA 10 ($1.045 Million)

Goldin Auctions handled the sale of this particular card, which commenced with a remarkably high starting bid of $150,000. This card, in high demand, attracted the attention of 26 bidders who bid against each other to secure the winning bid. In the end, the card fetched over $1 million, solidifying its position as the most expensive Anthony Davis card ever sold. The Anthony Davis Autographed Panini National Treasures card will forever hold a special place in the annals of basketball card collecting, serving as a testament to the passionate pursuit of owning a piece of sporting history.

7 Giannis Antetokounmpo Panini Prizm #290 PSA 9.5 ($1.16 Million)

Goldin Auctions was also responsible for managing the sale of this card. Out of a pair of cards featuring the same player, it is one of only two that have surpassed the $1 million mark in terms of value. What sets this specific card apart from the rest? Quite simply, there is no other trading card that matches its unique characteristics. It was intentionally crafted to be a singular and unparalleled item, and it remains in remarkably pristine condition. The combination of these two factors, along with the immense popularity of the player depicted, elevates the card's worth to an exceptional level, as exemplified by its remarkable selling price.

6 LeBron James Upper Deck Ultimate Signatures PSA 10 ($1.2 Million)

Goldin Auctions facilitated the sale of this specific card as well. What makes it intriguing is that it unquestionably stands as the most valuable LeBron James trading card sold in recent years. To be more precise, there hasn't been a card featuring this particular player that commanded such a high price since before 2004. However, there was a card created prior to that date that proved to be even more valuable. The primary factor that contributed to the exorbitant value of this particular card is its exceptional rarity.

5 Giannis Antetokounmpo Autographed Panini National Treasures PSA 9 ($1.8 Million)

Presented here is an additional instance of an exceedingly scarce trading card that fetched a substantial sum of money during an auction. In fact, it established a new record as the highest-priced basketball card ever sold, during the September 2020 auction. This record-breaking sale serves as a testament to the enduring allure of basketball card collecting. It highlights the fervor of passionate collectors who are willing to invest substantial sums to obtain a prized piece of sports memorabilia.

4 Beckett Precious Metal Gems Emerald #81 Kobe Bryant PSA 8.5 ($2 Million)

One of the remarkable aspects of this specific example is its exceptional rarity. Despite receiving a grade of 8.5 out of 10, its value remains significantly high due to the scarcity of its existence. It is unfortunate that the untimely passing of Kobe Bryant further amplified the card's worth, leading to an approximate 600% increase in its value. This significant increase in value underscores the deep emotional connection fans have with Kobe Bryant and the reverence they hold for his contributions to the game. It serves as a testament to his enduring impact on the sport and his status as a basketball legend.

3 Michael Jordan Upper Deck Game Jersey Autograph PSA 8 ($2.7 Million)

Numerous notable milestones were achieved in this case. Firstly, Heritage Auctions oversaw the auction, which notably marked their inaugural event solely dedicated to trading cards. According to the auction house, a total of 69 bidders participated, all exclusively through telephone bidding. The identity of the auction's victorious bidder has remained undisclosed, leaving the general public unaware of the individual who acquired this card. Furthermore, the card bears the signature of the esteemed player, in addition to containing an actual fragment of the jersey worn by Michael Jordan during the 1992 NBA All-Star Game.

2 Luka Doncic Panini National Treasures, Ungraded ($4.6 Million)

As expected, this trading card held the record for being the most expensive basketball card ever sold at the time of its purchase, but that title no longer stands. It is quite remarkable that an ungraded card could command such a high price. Its exceptional rarity greatly enhanced its monetary value, even without a grading assessment. Additionally, its sale as part of a private collection played a significant role in driving the price up considerably, as it did in this instance.

1 LeBron James Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Rookie card #78 PSA 9 ($5.2 Million)

https://www.instagram.com/p/CkOKV5qs0st/

In April of the previous year, this card found its way into the possession of a private collector. Demonstrating the swift pace of the trading card realm, it has already been surpassed by the card currently holding the top position on this list. While the LeBron James Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Rookie card #78 may no longer hold the top spot, its significance remains unchanged. It stands as a symbol of LeBron James' meteoric rise to superstardom and serves as a tangible piece of his enduring legacy.

Stephen Curry National Treasures Logoman Rookie card PSA 8 ($5.9 Million)

At present, this specific card holds the distinction of being the most expensive of its kind ever sold. It is worth mentioning that it claims the second-highest value among all sports cards ever sold, with only a single baseball card surpassing its price. The pivotal factor, in this case, is undoubtedly the autograph. Without it, the card would have had minimal prospects of fetching such a substantial sum of money.

Noah Cyrus Engaged To Pinkus With $600000 Ring After 2 Month Romance

Noah Cyrus is sporting some serious new bling on her wedding finger. On June 26, the singer announced that she’s engaged to designer Pinkus.

“The greatest moment of my entire life was saying ‘yes’ to spending the rest of ours together,” she wrote on Instagram.

“This past month of being your fiancĂ© and being in our own little world of just us two has been so perfect and I wish I could never leave this time,” Noah went on. “I never thought I would ever meet a man like you or someone so selfless and filled with so much love to give.”

“I’ve never felt more loved or in love,” she continued. “I now know the feeling of forever not being long enough. I’m so excited to spend this life with you, our life so far is a life I never thought I deserved or would live.”

“I never thought I’d be looking forward to living as much as I look forward to living with you. I’m so grateful for you,” Noah added.

She accompanied the post with a series of images of herself and Pinkus. The last image in the slideshow gave her followers an up-close look at her new engagement ring.

There are few details known about Noah’s new ring, but estimates suggest it’s easily worth over half a million dollars.

Jessica Flinn-Allen, CEO of wedding and engagement ring specialists Jessica Flinn, estimates that the rock is worth at least $600,000. The main diamond is valued at nearly $100,000 individually, she explains.

“Noah Cyrus’ ring is a diamond set halo on a diamond band, with a round brilliant cut in the centre approximately 2ct centre stone, valued between £50.000 - £80,000,” Finn-Allen said.

There’s no word on when Noah and Pinkus are planning to walk down the aisle, but they’re seemingly thinking about a family, given the fashion designer’s reply on Noah’s post.

“U want kids?” he asked in the comment section, which has racked up hundreds of likes.

It’s unknown how long Noah and Pinkus have been dating. They debuted their relationship in a TikTok in April but may have been seeing each other privately beforehand.

Noah implied they’ve been engaged for a while, as she mentioned in her post she’d been Pinkus’ fiancĂ© for “this past month.”

Noah and Pinkus’ nuptials aren’t the only wedding the Cyrus family will have in the near future. Both of Noah’s parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, became engaged to other people in recent months after finalizing their divorce last year following 28 years of marriage.

2Pac On The Big Screen: The Highest Tupac Shakur Films Ranked

Without a doubt, one of the most prolific, influential, controversial, multitalented, and absolute best entertainers of all time is the rapper, actor, writer, poet, and activists is Tupac Shakur. While Tupac is best known for his profound lyrical content and, as a result, his successful rap career, where he is said to have sold more than 75 million records worldwide, during his short time on earth, he was also recognized for his magnetic appearance on screen as an actor. As a rapper, Tupac has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, such as fellow West Coast rapper/actor Ice Cube, rapper/producer Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Bone Thugs and Harmony, and many other buzzing names during that era. As an actor, he also grabbed the attention of top movie directors, such as the late John Singleton and Jeff Pollack. Here are the highest-grossing films of rap extraordinaire, Tupac Shakur, ranked.

7 Poetic Justice - $27.4 Million

Still in the early stages of both his rap and film career, Tupac Shakur always had an interest in acting and film, and his on-screen presence commanded attention effortlessly. In 1993, he auditioned for the role of the main character in the romantic drama, Poetic Justice. The most exciting thing for Tupac was that he would be co-starring with the popular singer, actress, and sex symbol Janet Jackson. The movie centered around the life of Justice (Janet Jackson), a young and attractive African-American woman living in South Central, Los Angeles who recently lost her boyfriend, Markell, played by rapper Q-Tip, to gun violence. After some time, she meets a postal clerk and single father named Lucky (Tupac Shakur) while working at a hair salon. After their initial encounter, the two go on a trip to Oakland together with Lucky's co-worker, Chicago (Joe Torry) and Justice's friend Iesha, played by Regina King, who is also Chicago's girlfriend. Together, they each experience loss, heartbreak, disappointment, and love in different ways. The film grossed $27.4 million against a $14 million budget.

6 Juice - $20.1 Million

Tupac had every intention of furthering himself in the arts, and when he moved from Baltimore, Maryland from New York, he attended the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he honed his acting skills and also met fellow entertainer and friend, Jada Pinkett. He put his elite acting skills to use in 1992 by playing the role of Roland Bishop in the crime thriller, Juice. Roland is part of a group of young African-American friends which includes Quincy 'Q' Powell played by Omar Epps, Raheem Porter (Khalil Kain), and Eric "Steel" Thurman played by Jermaine Hopkins. Quincy is an aspiring DJ, but is sucked into a plot to rob a convenience store together, with Bishop holding the gun. Things go awry when Bishop decides to shoot and kill the store owner, then later turns the gun on Raheem and kills him. Against a budget of $5 million, the film was a major success, grossing $20.1 million in worldwide sales.

5 Above The Rim - $16 Million

It didn't take long for Tupac to land a role in another movie, this time in the 1994 sports drama, Above The Rim. Like his previous role in Juice, Shakur's character, Birdie, embodies that of an antagonist who is a local drug dealer and basketball team owner. The star of the movie, Kyle-Lee Watson, played by Duane Martin, is a talented basketball player with an arrogant attitude and a short fuse, who is about to graduate from high school with the promise of a scholarship to Georgetown University. However, Watson gets caught up in a deal with Birdie for a basketball tournament, which he later finds out is a trap. He then meets Thomas Sheppard (Leon Robinson), who is also a star athlete who Watson would like to be his coach. It is later revealed that Sheppard is Birdie's older brother, and they have a bitter sibling rivalry that has lasted years. Other quality actors in the movie include the late comedian Bernie Mac, Wood Harris, and Marlon Wayans.

4 Nothing But Trouble - $8.4 Million

At the start of his rap career, Tupac joined the Digital Underground rap group, consisting of Money B, DJ Fuze, its leader Shock G, and many other artists. It was while on the road with Digital Underground that he first appeared briefly in the 1991 comedy horror, Nothing But Trouble. The main characters of the film include actor/comedian Chevy Chase, Canadian actor/producer Dan Aykroyd, the late John Candy, actress and sex symbol Demi Moore, and many others. Shakur appears with the Digital Underground in a short scene in the court room where they are being held for charges of speeding, where they charm their way into the judges good graces by putting on an impromptu rap performance before the entire court. The film grossed $8.4 million against a $45 million budget, which is a major flop. But by the following year, Tupac landed his star role in the movie, Juice.

3 Tupac Resurrection - $7.8 Million

Despite the epic and enduring impression he left on the world in such a short period of time, Tupac Shakur tragically died of gun-inflicted wounds on September 13, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was only twenty-five years old at the time and lived a life full of intrigue, wonder, violence, drama, love, and hate, the latter of which cost him his life, and subsequently the life of his friend-turned-rival The Notorious B.I.G. While there remains much speculation over his actual cause of death, the worldwide fame he attracted led to a documentary film being released in 2003 titled Tupac Resurrection, which details the struggles he encountered from birth, throughout his adolescence, and into early adulthood, ending with his death. According to Wikipedia, as of July 2008, the film grossed $7.8 million.

2 Gang Related - $5.9 Million

From Ice-T to Ice Cube and even the late actor/rap legend DMX, it's quite ironic how many rappers who spoke of the injustices they faced by police in their rap songs ended up playing the roles of police themselves in movies. And Shakur was no exception. During his short and enigmatic life on earth, he was a strong voice against police brutality, having been a victim of it personally. But in 1997, one of his last films, Gang Related, was released showing him as a crooked police officer alongside Hollywood actor James Belushi. Other celebrity actors who appeared in the film include Lela Rochon, actor Dennis Quaid, and the seasoned actor James Earl Jones. The film grossed a total of $5.9 million globally at the box office.

1 Gridlock'd - $5.5 Million

It's safe to say that many of the roles Shakur played in his films, both good and bad, were borrowed from experiences he had personally throughout his life. For his role in Gridlock'd, he embodied that of a heroin junkie named Spoon, struggling to make ends meet as a musician, along with his fellow junkie band members Stretch, played by Tim Roth, and Cookie, played by actress Thandiwe Newton. The film begins with Cookie overdosing on heroin after a successful stage performance, while Spoon and Stretch frantically try to get her help. Realizing that Cookie almost died, Spoon informs Stretch that as a New Year's Resolution, he is also planning to kick the habit. But the two soon realize that it's not so easy to check into rehab as they lack proper government documentation. The film does an excellent job at exposing the futility of the rehabilitation system in America, and the hurdles that addicts have to jump through to get help.
