"The Dark Knight Rises" Voted Top Movie Of The Decade In LADbible Poll

The 2010s are coming to a close, and now's a popular time for everyone to reflect on the best of the best in what was a historic decade for the ages.

Once again, those who follow the Cinema industry were blessed with plenty of blockbuster films. The 2010s consisted of countless superhero films as well as sequels and reboots to some of our favorite films from previous decades.

When it comes to the 2010s, there is obviously no consensus pick for the top film of the decade. There are dozens of movies that made a compelling case as being the greatest of them all.

LADbible decided to have some fun in settling the debate. On their official Twitter page, they asked viewers to vote for the best film of the 2010s. The options consisted of Inception (2010), Toy Story 3 (2010), The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).

By the slimmest of margins, The Dark Knight Rises won the poll, receiving 38 percent of the votes. The Wolf of Wall Street was a very close second at 37 percent, while Inception and Toy Story 3 received 16 and nine percent of the responses, respectively.

The final film of Christopher Nolan's epic Batman trilogy starred Christian Bale (reprising his role as the Caped Crusader), Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle), Tom Hardy (Bane), Gary Oldman (Commissioner Gordon), Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox) and Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth), with the latter three also reprising their roles.

The Dark Knight Rises surpassed the $1 billion mark at the box office, and it's widely considered to be among the greatest superhero films in history. Only The Avengers and Skyfall made more money at the box office than The Dark Knight Rises.

When it comes to debating the top films of the 2010s, there's no denying that Nolan's final Batman movie belongs in the discussion. It was a mega success from financial and critical standpoints, and it set an even higher bar for future Batman films.
