Patriots Will Reportedly Pay Tom Brady $30 Million Annually To Stay

One of the hottest NFL storylines since the start of the 2019 season has centered around New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and for good reason.
You don't often hear about a perennial Pro Bowler and future Hall of Famer potentially hitting the free agent market. And Brady, a three-time MVP and six-time Super Bowl champion, is the most accomplished quarterback in NFL history.
If he hits the market, there will be no shortage of interested teams. And if money truly matters to Brady, he will have every incentive to stay in Foxborough.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Patriots "are willing" to give Brady "in excess of $30 million per year" in order to retain his services. Rapoport added that No. 12 would want the Patriots to upgrade the offensive supporting cast if he were to re-sign, however.
Brady and head coach Bill Belichick have remained quiet about contract talks without giving any major hints on the former's future. Brady admitted that he's "unlikely" to retire, so the only question now is where he'll suit up in 2020.

There have been reports about some possible tension between Brady and Belichick. If the former winds up leaving New England, it will only fuel speculation about a rocky relationship between the two centerpieces of New England's 21st century dynasty.
The Los Angeles Chargers, Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans are among the teams who've been linked to the Brady sweepstakes. If he decides to test the open market, there will be quite the bidding war for the soon-to-be 43-year-old.
Brady signed a two-year extension with the Patriots last offseason, but it was essentially a one-year contract, as the deal was set up in a way that allows him to enter free agency this offseason. We'll find out soon enough what the future holds for Brady, and if he'll finish his career where it started.
