Buccaneers' Super Bowl Odds Increase After Signing Tom Brady

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Tom Brady sweepstakes on Tuesday night, and now it's just a matter of working out the contract details.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that there aren't any "problems" with Brady and the Bucs in contract negotiations, and they'll continue to talk over the deal on Thursday.

Reports suggest that Brady's deal will come in around $30 million annually. The six-time Super Bowl champion announced early Tuesday morning that he was leaving the New England Patriots after 20 seasons.

Now, adding a future Hall of Famer and multi-time Super Bowl champion and MVP quarterback will almost always give a team a better chance at winning the Lombardi Trophy.

And the Buccaneers saw their Super Bowl championship odds increase drastically after landing Brady. William Hill Sports Betting online (h/t Patrik Walker of CBS Sports) gives Tampa Bay 16/1 odds of winning the Super Bowl next season.

The Buccaneers were previously listed at 25/1 before moving to 20/1.

And wouldn't it be something if Brady guided his new team to Super Bowl LV? A friendly reminder here that next year's Super Bowl will be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.

That's right, the Buccaneers have the chance to become the first team to host their very first Super Bowl. The Minnesota Vikings were close in the 2017 season, but they ultimately fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. Philly went on to win the Super Bowl in Minnesota.

Brady will be joining a Tampa Bay team that's led by "quarterback whisperer" head coach Bruce Arians. It consists of two 1,000-yard receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin plus standout tight ends O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate. The talent is unquestionably there for Brady and the Bucs to go on a run in 2020.

But can he go to the promised land without the greatest head coach of all time in Bill Belichick? Most Patriots stars have struggled with new teams after leaving New England, but if there's another player who can show he can win without Belichick, it's Brady.
