Michael Brockers' Contract With Rams Carries Max Value Of $31.5 Million
Michael Brockers' three-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens was never completed, so he's heading back to the Los Angeles Rams.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Brockers will receive a three-year deal with a base value of $24 million. The maximum value of the contract for the 29-year-old is $31.5 million.
This deal is similar to the one that Brockers was about to sign with Baltimore (three years, $30 million). But per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, the two parties couldn't finalize the contract since free agents are currently disallowed from participating in physicals.
So while Brockers decided to go back to the Rams, the Ravens wound up signing former Denver Broncos pass rusher Derek Wolfe to a one-year deal worth $6 million in order to get a boost on their front seven.
Brockers has spent his entire career with the Rams; they drafted him 14th overall in 2012. He was instrumental in helping the Rams reach Super Bowl LIII, where they lost to the New England Patriots.

Keeping Brockers was a huge win for the Los Angeles front office, because they've lost plenty of key contributors here in the offseason. The cap-strapped Rams released Pro Bowler and oft-injured running back Todd Gurley, who wound up signing with the Atlanta Falcons soon after. They did manage to re-sign respected offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth to a three-year deal, however.
The Rams also saw pass rusher Dante Fowler Jr. sign a one-year deal with the Falcons. The former Jacksonville Jaguars' first-round pick had tremendous success with the Rams, but they weren't in position to match the three-year, $48 million Atlanta gave him.
Brockers has recorded 23 sacks through his first eight NFL seasons, including three last season. Brockers and Aaron Donald round out one of the league's best front seven units, and the Rams will rely on them once again in 2020 as they try to get back into the postseason.
