Rolling Stones Postpone "No Filter Tour" Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

As the world continues to deal with the coronavirus oubtbreak, the Rolling Stones have decided to put the rest of their "No Filter Tour" on hold.

AEG Presents/Concerts posted announcement (you can read it in entirety here) on the Rolling Stones' official website, voicing "disappointment" while adding that "health and safety" were the main priority.

In the statement, they also apologized to the fans while advising ticket holders to retain their tickets for the time being.

Mick Jagger also shared a statement and apology on his Instagram page:

The Stones were slated to begin the tour on May 8 at SDCCU Stadium in San Diego, California, followed by a stop at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The rest of the dates were to take place in the United States, concluding at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on July 9. There were 15 total concert dates planned for the No Filter Tour.

This tour consists of four legs, which began in Hamburg, Germany on Sept. 9, 2017, concluding in Nanterre, France on Oct. 25, 2017. The tour continued on May 17, 2018 in Dublin, Ireland, running until July 8 in Warsaw, Poland.

The next phase of the tour began on June 21 last year in Chicago, Illinois. Aside from one stop in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, the tour consistently entirely of stops in the United States - ending on Aug. 30 in Miami, Florida.

As scientists try to work on a vaccine for COVID-19, countless events across the world have been shut down in order to neutralize the risks of spreading the virus. In North America, the NBA, NHL, MLB and MLS have suspended play in their leagues indefinitely, while NCAA canceled its basketball and hockey tournaments. The PGA postponed the Masters after canceling the Players Championship, and WWE has moved its live shows to the Performance Center in Orlando, without any spectators.

Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 30-day travel ban on Europe. Canada and the United States agreed to close their borders for non-essential traveling.
