How To Watch Tonight's Parks & Rec Reunion Special
Parks & Recreation returns tonight for a one-off reunion episode. Here's everything you need to know about the special and how to watch it.
There aren't many TV shows that have known when to call it a day at the perfect time. The temptation of shooting new seasons once a show is at its peak can be all too tempting. So many have fallen foul of trying to squeeze out one or two more seasons and ended on a sour note. Or, even worse, gone with the dreaded leap into the future for its final season.
Scrubs, The Office, How I Met Your Mother. Arguments claiming those shows should have come to an end long before they actually did can most certainly be made. When it comes to Parks & Recreation, that argument might be harder to make. It did make that leap into the future, but not very far, and many fans of the show were indeed clamoring for more when it came to an end.
Five years later, and those Parks & Rec fans who wanted an extra dose of their favorite show are actually going to get one. The cast is reuniting for a one-off special to raise money for Feeding America's Covid-19 Response Fund. Although details have been kept close to the chest, TechRadar reports that the special has been taped remotely.
It will feature Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) checking in on her friends in Pawnee from wherever she has made it to in her burgeoning political career. Those friends will reportedly include Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott, and Rob Lowe. NBC has also teased that others from Parks & Rec history will be making cameo appearances.
Which brings us to the most important detail of all: how and when fans of the show can watch the special. The best place to go will be NBC where the special will air at 8:30 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2020. People in select areas of the US can take advantage of Sling TVs happy hour and watch the show for free if it offers NBC where you are. As for international Parks & Rec fans, unfortunately, the special is only airing in the US for now.
