Man Claims To Have Perfected KFC's Secret Recipe At Home

For anyone held up in quarantine right now missing all of their favorite fast foods, we might have the perfect solution.

All of us will be missing a lot of things right now. Due to the fact we are confined to our homes for most, if not all of the day, and the usual services available to us are on hiatus, times are tough. Whether it be family, friends, or fresh air that you're missing, the only solace right now is that most of us are in the same boat together.

Family and friends are the big things that pretty much everyone will be missing right now. However, others may be finding it difficult to go without a few of their creature comforts. Eating at a favorite restaurant, a weekly trip to a bar, or popping out to see a movie. Things we really can go without, but many people would give an arm and a leg for right now, even if it meant doing it just once.

Fast food will be on that list for a lot of people too. Many popular chains have closed restaurants or even shut down completely until all this is over. Until this past weekend, when eleven locations reopened for delivery only, all of KFC's UK restaurants were completely closed. That's when someone named Dan Fell took to Twitter and claimed to have perfected KFC's secret chicken recipe.

This isn't something Dan has only been doing during the pandemic, but a project he has been working on for the past 18 months. Turns out it's not as simple as perfecting Colonel Sanders' specific blend of eleven herbs and spices. It's also about the temperature of the oil, using egg whites for the wash and not the yolks, and even the temperature of the chicken before its cooked is important.

Judging by the pictures Dan has posted online, he certainly looks to have nailed it. What his chicken tastes like is something else entirely, though. Dan has shared the recipe on Twitter for anyone to try so if you are craving some of the Colonel's chicken right now it's gotta be worth a try. Chances are KFC won't be sharing its recipe online anytime soon like some other famous food chains have been doing.
