Hercules Joins Disney's Long List Of Promised Live Action Remakes

Bless my soul, Disney's on a roll as it adds Hercules to the docket of live-action remakes coming over the next few years.
During the 1990s and early 2000s, animated movies appeared to be the order of the day. Titles such as The Lion King and Aladdin went down as instant classics that are still enjoyed today. Then Toy Story came along and broke the mold, opening the door not only for Pixar but also for non-Disney franchises such as Shrek.
Fast forward 20 years and not only can we continue to enjoy those movies, at least the Disney ones, via Disney+, but also their modern-day remakes. Disney has been creating live-action versions of what feels like pretty much every single one of its animated classics at this point. Considering the success of some of those remakes (The Lion King, Alice In Wonderland, and Beauty and the Beast all made more than $1 billion each at the box office) why would they stop now?
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the next Disney classic getting the live-action treatment is Hercules. What's more, The Russo Brothers, of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame fame, are producers on the project. Other than that, very little is currently known about the project, including whether it will hit theaters or be reserved for Dinsey+ subscribers.
While most of Disney's remakes up until this point have hit cinemas, the recent Lady & The Tramp went straight to Disney+. The same will be happening to 101 Dalmatians prequel Cruella. As for the rest of Disney's live-action slate, it's very busy. The delayed Mulan is still to come, as well as Peter Pan & Wendy, The Little Mermaid, Snow White & The Seven Dwarves, Pinocchio, Bambi, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Considering how busy that schedule is, chances are Hercules fans have a long wait before they get to see the demigod brought to life once again. As for who might play Hercules, even though he has done so in a different telling of the Greek myth on the big screen, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson definitely gets our vote.
