2020 World Series Odds Released, Yankees & Dodgers The Favorites
On Tuesday, Major League Baseball and the MLBPA reached an agreement on a 60-game season, which will reportedly begin on July 23.
The regular season is slated to run through Sept. 27, with the playoffs beginning two days later. Game 7 of the 2020 World Series, if necessary, will take place on Oct. 28. The league hasn't released the complete schedule yet.
With the 2020 season now official, the 2020 World Series odds have been released. Unsurprisingly, two perennial powerhouses - the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees - are the primary betting favorites.
According to Caesars Sportsbook (h/t David Purdum of ESPN.com), the Dodgers and Yankees are the two favorites at 7-2, followed by the defending AL Champion Houston Astros at 11-1.
After those two teams, the reigning NL East Champion Atlanta Braves and AL Central Champion Minnesota Twins carry the best odds at 15-1.
The Yankees and Dodgers made the two biggest moves of the 2020 offseason. New York signed former Astros ace pitcher Gerrit Cole to a nine-year contract worth $324 million - the richest deal ever for a pitcher.

As for the Dodgers, who endured another untimely and heartbreaking playoff defeat, they added 2018 AL MVP Mookie Betts and former Cy Young pitcher David Price in a blockbuster trade with the Boston Red Sox, who were looking to clear salary.
The Dodgers were the best team in the NL last year at 106-56, while the Yankees went 103-59. Both clubs have added plenty more star power to their rosters, so it's no surprise that they come in as the betting favorites. For the Yankees, adding Cole was a double whammy, as he was instrumental in helping the rival Astros reach the World Series last season.
Los Angeles won the NL pennant in 2017 and 2018, but they fell in the World Series to the Astros and Red Sox, respectively. We'll find out soon enough if Betts and Price - both members of the 2018 World Series champion Red Sox - can help the Dodgers finally get over the hump.
