Umbrella Academy's New Trailer Reveals Where, Or When, Season 2 Takes Place

Turns out traveling through time to escape the apocalypse worked, but not as well as the Academy members would have hoped.
Suffice to say before we get started, major spoilers lie ahead in regard to season one of The Umbrella Academy. The start of season two is fast approaching and fans of the show are eager to find out where, or when, the Academy's heroes have wound up. The first season came to an end as Five transported himself and the rest of his siblings away from the end of the world.
Five managed to do that just in the nick of time after he and the rest of the Academy tried and failed to stave off the apocalypse. Five warned his brothers and sisters that time traveling is unpredictable, and there was no way of telling where and when they would all end up. Turns out that when is the 1960s, but not all of them turned up at the exact same time.
In fact, Alison, Luther, and the other cast members have been scattered across a five-year period. By the time Five shows up, some of them have established lives for themselves in this new time period. Klaus is the leader of a cult, and Diego appears to have landed himself in some sort of prison or asylum. That's not the worst part. It turns out that the disruption they've caused by changing the timeline has brought the end of the world forward by quite some way.
When Five arrives in the past, he is informed by a much older Hazel than the version fans will recognize from season one that it is ten days until the end of the world. Once Five has gathered up his siblings, he explains that they have brought the end of the world back in time with them. The trailer ends with the heroes detailing their skills to their father, who won't know who they are since they have traveled back to 26 years before any of them were born.
We're not sure if the trailer for season two has made us more or less confused. Any TV shows and movies brave enough to tackle time travel certainly need to be very careful when doing so. It also allows deceased characters to return from the dead (fingers crossed for Pogo). However, Ben, the Academy member who died before season one had even begun, remains dead despite heading back to the 1960s with everyone else. All ten episodes of The Umbrella Academy season two will be available to stream on Netflix from July 31, 2020.
