Rose McGowan Accuses Alyssa Milano Of Toxic Behavior On Charmed

Rose McGowan, who is known for her strong opinions, has recently vented about her experience while working on Charmed. The 46-year-old actress accused her former co-star, Alyssa Milano, of contributing to a "toxic AF" work environment when she joined the show in 2001.

On Friday, Milano, 47, tweeted "a thread of all the things the Democratic Party has done to make the world a better place," such as granting women the right to vote. Shortly after, McGowan chimed in, tweeting, "Ummm... did you conveniently forget only WHITE WOMEN got the right to vote? They betrayed all others."

Milano responded that McGowan was lying and hurting less privileged people, claiming she was going “on with your hyperbolic attention-seeking tweets" while people are dying. The tweets then moved onto the #MeToo Movement, which McGowan accused Milano of appropriating.

McGowan famously released a memoir, Brave, and starred in the four-part documentary series Citizen Rose, both in 2018, in which she spoke out about sexual assault and harassment. The New York Times revealed, in October 2017, that she received a $100,000 settlement from Harvey Weinstein as a cover-up of an alleged rape in 1997.

On February 7, 2018, Jill Messick, McGowan's manager at the time of the alleged rape, died by suicide. Messick's family blamed Weinstein, the media, the public, and McGowan for her death. They stated that she had become “collateral damage in an already horrific story" in part due to McGowan’s criticism and harassment.

Eventually, McGowan got around to her alleged experience on the set of Charmed with Milano, saying, “I cried every time we got renewed because you made that set toxic AF. Now, get off my coattails you f--king fraud."

McGowan then uploaded an interview from 2018 in which she told Nightline that she didn’t like Milano because she thought she was “a lie.” Milano responded to the video saying she hoped #AlyssaMilanoIsALie would trend to number one before she went to bed.

Milano later said in a statement to E! News that "Hurt people hurt people. Commenting any further doesn't align with my wellness plan." McGowan hasn’t responded to that statement though. Charmed, which ran from 1998-2006, originally starred Milano, Piper Halliwell, and Shannen Doherty, until McGowan joined the cast after Doherty left.
