Dallas Cowboys Had An Attendance Of 21,708 For Sunday's Week 2 Game

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, no NFL team is allowed to open its stadium to a full capacity. Only a handful of them have allowed some fans at all.

The Dallas Cowboys are are one of the few clubs that permitted fans for its home opener - a thrilling 40-39 comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

Per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, the Cowboys had an attendance of 21,708 for Sunday's game. Since the other teams have had no fans or extremely limited capacity, the Cowboys set the mark for the highest attendance of the 2020 NFL season thus far.

The Cowboys trailed 20-0 in the first quarter following a series of turnovers. Though they slowly chipped away at the lead, Atlanta seemingly had the game on ice when they went up 15 with eight minutes left.

Dallas scored two touchdowns (one in which they failed on the two-point conversion) within the final five minutes to cut the deficit to two points. The home team then recovered the onside kick (the Falcons surprisingly let it go the necessary 10 yards) to give Dak Prescott one more chance.

Prescott quickly went to work in orchestrating the game-winning drive. Kicker Greg Zuerlein kicked a field goal as time expired to give Dallas an improbable 40-30 come-from-behind victory.

So far, only the Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars have allowed some fans this season. Most other teams are hoping to have a limited capacity at some point this season.

The Denver Broncos will allow a small crowd for this Sunday's Week 3 home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Tennessee Titans will have fans for their three home contests in October.

The Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, New York Jets and Washington Football Team have announced that they won't have any fans at their home games this season.
