Disney Reveals The Release Date Of The Mandalorian Season 2
The second season of Disney's lauded The Mandalorian finally has a specific release date. Episode one of the show will debut on October 30, 2020.
It takes a number of different ingredients for a company to assemble a successful streaming service. One of the most important things to do is to strike a balance between old content and new. The easiest way to keep the new content coming is for the company running the service to create it themselves. Netflix is all the proof anyone should need that creating quality content equals success in the streaming world.
Disney+ had to strike up that balance last year when it launched in the US, and then in 2020 elsewhere. When it comes to old content, Disney has no issues. It added pretty much everything it has ever had a hand in creating dating all the way back to the 1930s on day one. It also had the luxury of including the Star Wars franchise and the MCU on its platform too.
It might seem crazy on the surface, but all of that is still not enough. Disney clearly knew that as it used some of its high-profile acquired content to make something new. The Mandalorian, a TV show set in the Star Wars universe sometime between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The Mandalorian was an unmitigated hit, and fans of the show have been waiting for season two ever since the first came to an end.
Despite various shows getting plagued with delays thanks to the global pandemic, season two of The Mandalorian's production got in just under the wire. Disney promised that it would be released on schedule, it just wouldn't tell us when that day would be, until now. It has finally been revealed that The Mandalorian's second season will debut on Disney+ on October 30, 2020.
For anyone unfamiliar with the Disney way of doing things, viewers will not be able to watch the entire season all in one go as has become the custom with Netflix shows. Although not yet confirmed by Disney, it's assumed that season two of The Mandalorian will be released one episode at a time. That means after watching episode one on October 30, it will be a full week until episode two drops.
