Baltimore Ravens Sign Ronnie Stanley To Five-Year Extension Worth $98.75 Million
The Baltimore Ravens have signed another core player to a lucrative long-term extension.
On Friday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Ravens have signed left tackle Ronnie Stanley to a five-year extension worth $98.75 million. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the deal carries $70.866 million in guarantees, and it has a maximum value of $112.86 million.
The $98.75 million deal is the largest for an NFL offensive lineman, per Spotrac. It narrowly beats out the eight-year, $97.6 million deal that Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowler Tyron Smith signed during the 2014 offseason.
After those two, Smith's teammate, Zack Martin, carries the richest NFL offensive lineman deal at $84 million. Among all offensive linemen, only Laremy Tunsil of the Houston Texans has a larger average annual value ($22 million) than Stanley $19.75 million), per Spotrac.
Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta also handed All-Pro cornerback Marlon Humphrey a five-year extension worth $97.5 million earlier this month. This comes a year after he signed 2019 trade deadline acquisition and All-Pro corner Marcus Peters to a three-year, $42 million deal.
The 26-year-old Stanley was drafted sixth overall by the Ravens in 2016, and he's quickly grown into one of the league's elite players.

Stanley earned his first career Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro selections in 2019, helping second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson win the MVP award. The Ravens also finished with the NFL's best regular season record at 14-2.
The Ravens have their top young superstars signed to long-term deals now. Up next, DeCosta will have to extend Jackson, whose next deal could easily reach $200 million or more, considering how much the market for quarterbacks has increased over the past year.
Baltimore is the NFL's best when it comes to drafting, and Stanley already looks like a future Hall of Famer. The future is very promising for a Ravens team that should seriously contend for the Super Bowl over the next decade.
