Stephanie Seymour's Son Harry Brant Dies Of Overdose At 24
Harry Brant, the son of supermodel Stephanie Seymour and industrialist Peter Brant, has died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs at the age of 24. On Sunday, Brant, who had struggled with addiction for several years, was found dead, just days before he was set to enter rehab.
His parents released a statement to The New York Times that read, "We will forever be saddened that his life was cut short by this devastating disease. He achieved a lot in his 24 years, but we will never get the chance to see how much more Harry could have done."
"Harry was not just our son," the statement continued. "He was also a wonderful brother, loving grandson, favorite uncle and a caring friend. He was a creative, loving and powerful soul that brought light into so many people's hearts. He was truly a beautiful person inside and out."
Brant worked as a model and a teenage columnist for his father’s Interview magazine. He also founded a unisex makeup line with MAC with his older brother, Peter Brant Jr. The two were known for frequenting fashion shows and rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous.
In 2016, Brant was arrested for refusing to pay a cab fare in Greenwich, Connecticut, and charged with larceny, interfering with an officer and drug possession. He briefly attended Bard College but did not graduate.
In addition to Peter, Harry is survived by a younger sister, an older half brother from his mother’s previous marriage to the guitarist Tommy Andrews, and four half siblings from his father’s previous marriage to Sandra Brant. His half brother Ryan Brant died in March 2019, at the age of 47, due to cardiac arrest caused by aspiration.
Seymoure, 52, and Brant, 73, were married in July 1995. In March 2009, the supermodel filed for divorce after 14 years of marriage but the couple reconciled in 2010. The couple live on a 300-acre estate in Greenwich, Connecticut, that houses dozens of ponies, a polo field, and a 41-foot sculpture by Jeff Koons in the front yard.
