Meet NORD Superyacht: The Tuxedo'd Warship | TheRichest.com

The NORD Superyacht is a tuxedo'd warship that is becoming widely popular because of its distinct appearance compared to others in its category. Yachts might be called mega yachts, Giga yachts, or superyachts, depending on their length. The most expensive superyachts are priced at around $1.5 billion and $4.8 billion and include the Eclipse and History Supreme, respectively. Lurssen built the NORD superyacht. Nuvolari and Lenard have designed the interior and exterior of this superyacht. It was launched at Lurssen's yard at Vegesack. The Moran Yacht and Ship team were in charge of supervising the building of this superyacht for Mordashov.

The price of this superyacht is estimated to be around $500 million. The current owner of this motor yacht by Lurssen is Alexei Mordashov, and it has not been listed for sale or rent. Here are some features that make this superyacht a matter of discussion.

The fine architect Carlo Nuvolari and the designer Dan Lenard are the Nuvolari and Lenard designers who designed the Nord Superyacht. It belongs to the motor yacht class of Germanischer Lloyd AG. The naval segment of this superyacht has been designed by Lurssen Superyachts. This beast looks like a warship in a tuxedo, which explains why Alexei Mordashov takes much pride in being the exclusive shipowner.

This superyacht is about 142 meters or 466 feet in length, and it has a volume of about 10,154 gross tonnages and approximately 2,785 net tonnages. Its beam is about 9.5 meters or 64 feet long, and its draught is about 5.4 meters or 17.7 feet long. The superstructure of this yacht is built using aluminium, and the decks are teak laid. It is a monohull ship, and the hull is made up of steel. The number of decks on this ship is 5.

Besides its superior build, this overqualified yacht can also run at an impressive speed of 20 knots or 37 km per hour. MTU diesel engines power this beast, and its cruising speed is about 15 knots or 28 km per hour. With a total of 20 guest cabins, the generous capacity of this yacht is about 36 guests, along with a crew exceeding 40 members.

On-anchor stabilization or zero speed stabilization is one of the attractive features of Nord's vessel. Besides special mechanical specifications, it also comes with luxury amenities that an individual would fancy to have on their expensive boat.

There are swimming pools for a refreshing time and gymnasiums with the most modern cardio equipment to not miss out on their fitness regime while cruising. There are even elevators to offer the ultimate luxury experience.

Air-conditioned rooms and movie theaters are there to keep the passengers perfectly comfortable and entertained. A tender garage stores Nord's small boat collection if a passenger decides to go on a boat ride for a bit while cruising. The passengers also feel pampered with its sauna, spa room, and beauty salon.

What makes a ride on the superyacht Nord even more exciting is its beautiful underwater lighting system. It also comes with two huge helipads, which always something billionaires like to flaunt about their vessels. One of these is located on the ship's top deck, while the other is on the vessel's bow. Overall the vast space of Nord superyacht is pretty well optimized.

Lurssen has built several superyachts that have been the most popular ones over the decades. Sometimes these are the most expensive or the largest. The Azzam is estimated to be around $600 million, Al-Said, about $300 million. But Nord is their latest creation and is genuinely one of a kind.

Bravo Eugenia, Seven Sea, and the Black Pearl are some of the beauties designed by Nuvolari and Lenard alongside the Superyacht, Nord. All of these ships have their distinctive features, but Nord stands out with its unprecedented Tuxedo appearance.

The co-founder of Nuvolari and Lenard designers, Dan Lenard, notes that the Nord is special because it was made to articulate a strong emotion. It might not be the largest superyacht globally, but it is irreplaceable in terms of its extraordinary architecture. It is supposed to revolutionize the perception of superyachts. Superseding the ancient language of superyacht designing, this vessel is a severe design feat for Nuvolari and Lenard.

The entire team of Lursssen, Nuvolari & Lenard, Moran Yacht and Ship, and the owner, Alexei Mordashov, are immensely proud to be closely associated with this new creation. The Nord superyacht was launched in 2020 and is still going through sea trials in 2021. It is stationed in Germany at present.
