Pharrell Williams may be best known for his contributions to the world of music, and for being able to entertain the masses over the span of his decades long career, but that's not all he does. He happens to be part of a philanthropic effort to help inspire and motivate the Black and LatinX community and encourage their growth and development in the business sector. Pharrell Williams and Chanel have partnered up on a 2-part initiative program that will surely spark inspiration among many of the future's potential leaders. Billboard reports that; "Chanel is teaming with Pharrell Williams and his nonprofit Black Ambition on a two-part initiative focused on Black and Latinx entrepreneurs aimed at providing access to knowledge, insights and opportunities from industry-leading experts.”

The project is well underway, and Part One live-streamed on Friday, and was made available exclusively to Black Ambition semifinalists. Part one saw the collaborative efforts of Chanel and Williams come together to present the panel called 'Women Who Lead.' Billboard reports it featured; "Tracee Ellis Ross, Medley co-founder Edith Cooper, Good American CEO and co-founder Emma Grede, Imaginary Ventures co-founder and partner Natalie Massenet."

This was moderated by the very influential editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, and touched on topics such as mentorship,  building culture and supporting the larger community. It also taught the critical value of maintaining a laser sharp vision of focus.

Part Two is a much more interactive experience, and will centralize around a workshop format, with advice freely flowing from Chanel's leadership community. The Black Ambition finalists will learn what it really takes to launch a new brand and be able to sustain it in today's economy.

The nature of the conversations and the influential impact of those passing along the priceless information puts the finalists in an advantageous position to be able to better structure, launch, grow, and oversee their ambitious brand ideas. They'll have access to intense workshops and powerful world leaders in their field, and of course, will stand a chance at the $1 million prize, as well.

Pharrell Williams understands that people may have visionary ideas about a brand or concept, but may not have the knowledge or the tools necessary to see it through. The workshop provides finalists with unprecedented access to Chanel’s community of proven leaders and a full network of support from leading brand experts to help them build the skills they need to brand their business in today's cutting edge business world.

Rising to the occasion, Pharrell has revealed  two prize competitions — the Black Ambition HBCU Prize and the Black Ambition Prize.  Hot New Hip Hop indicates the prizes are designed “fund bold ideas and companies led by Black and Latinx entrepreneurs” and the lucky recipient will be offered prize money totaling up to $1 million.
