This very special rose has been bred and specifically grown in honor of the late Prince Phillip and comes packed with special significance and symbolism. It has been named the 'Duke Of Edinburgh Rose,' and CBS News reports that it was "bred by Harkness Roses and gifted by the Royal Horticultural Society, of which the queen is patron... It honors all the marvelous things that he did over his lifetime," and serves as a reminder for all that this honorable and widely respected man stood for.

The flower itself is deep pink in color and reportedly is "dappled with white lines and a delicate fragrance," and quite simply, it's a perfect way to commemorate Prince Phillip's incredible life, and tell the tale of his journey.

In a deeply poignant, emotional moment, this incredibly special flower was planted in the East Terrace Garden at Windsor Castle, as the Queen watched on.

In true Royal fashion , this beautiful flower is one that the Queen will cherish, and there have been a number of others that have been grown for sale, to benefit a charity that was deeply meaningful to Prince Phillip.

CBS News reports that; "Royalties from the share of each rose sold will go towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award's Living Legacy Fund, which Philip originally established in 1956. It supports young people in more than 130 countries."

Those who wish to purchase a rose for themselves are now able to feel truly, and personally connected to the late Prince Phillip, and will know that their purchase has gone towards bettering the lives of young people across the globe. To be part of the process of appreciating, sharing and donating to such a degree, truly embodies everything that Prince Phillip so proudly stood for.
