Drake Rents Out Dodger Stadium For Dinner Date With Johanna Leia
Drake pulled out all the stops on a recent dinner date. The singer reportedly rented out Dodger Stadium so he could wine and dine Johanna Leia in private.
According to TMZ, Drake was spotted with the model last Thursday. A passing helicopter managed to take photos of the couple enjoying a romantic spread set up beside the dugout closest to third base. Both Drake, 34, and Johanna, 40, flashed wide smiles for the helicopter as they enjoyed their meal.
The table was decorated with a white tablecloth, matching flowers, and several tantalizing dishes. They reportedly even had a private bartender. Johanna was wearing a personalized Dodgers jersey that the rapper had made for her just for the special date night.
The couple were able to have the stadium to themselves after Drake made a substantial donation to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. It’s unclear how much the Degrassi alum paid but given that the Dodgers stadium is not typically available to rent, it may have been a pretty penny.
Drake and Johanna have reportedly been dating for close to a year. TMZ says the couple recently celebrated 11-months together. Additionally, Drake is said to have developed a close bond to the model’s 16-year-old son, Amari Bailey.
It’s unclear exactly how the pair met. But Page Six suggests that it may have been through LeBron James. Johanna’s son plays basketball for Sierra Canyon High School and one of his teammates is the legendary athlete’s son, Bronny James. Drake has attended various games to support LeBron’s son, and he may have met Johanna through the high school basketball league. Johanna’s son has reportedly committed to playing basketball in UCLA in 2022, and the rapper has been giving the teen advice on how to handle pressure and fame.
Johanna is no stranger to the limelight. She previously appeared on the lifetime reality show Bringing Up Ballers, which followed the model and other Chicago-based mothers focused on getting their sons into the NBA.
Additionally, according to Elle, Johanna has been modelling for over two decades for brands like Fashion Nova. Her younger child, 7-year-old daughter Savvy, is also a regular in her mother’s brand campaigns on social media. The mother-of-two features almost 300,000 followers on Instagram.
Johanna is one of the first women Drake has been publicly connected to in years. He’s previously been linked to Rashida Jones, Tyra Banks, Rihanna, and NBC Sports reporter Rosalyn Gold-Onwude. The rapper also has a 3-year old son, Adonis, whom he shares with French artist Sophie Brussaux.
