Dr. Dre's Billion-Dollar Estate Revealed In Ongoing Divorce With Nicole Young

Hip Artist Dr. Dre is in the throes of a messy divorce with Nicole Young, and now some details about his $1 billion estate are being made public. As the two fight over a financial agreement, a new court document is exposing his assets.

The rapper, whose real name is Andre Young, made a name for himself in the music business. The 56-year-old found fame with the rap group N.W.A. before he embarked on a successful solo career.

Along with music, the mogul's entrepreneurial endeavors helped pad his pockets. Dre co-founded and co-owned Death Row Records, which at its peak made over $100 million a year.

More recently, the rapper partnered with Jimmy Iovine to form Beats By Dre. The duo sold the company to Apple in 2014 for $3 billion, and both netted a fortune.

Young filed for divorce from Dre in June 2020. Although Dre wanted a 'classy and fair' divorce, it has been anything amicable. Last month the mogul was allegedly served with divorce papers while attending the funeral of his grandmother.

Now court documents are revealing where the rapper turned businessman keeps his assets. HipHopDX has revealed that Dre currently holds over $180 million in cash in his checking accounts, $260 million in property, and $6 million in stock.

The documents sold reveal that the mogul sold off a portion of his Apple stock amid the divorce for over $73 million. As for his Dr. Dre business, he managed to pull in $4 million in 2020 alone.

Young is asking Dre to pay $4 million to cover her legal fees in the divorce and claims he still owes her $1.2 million from a previous court order. And although Dre's business made $4 million last year, the court has ordered him to pay Young $3.5 million in spousal support.

"Andre is doing whatever he wants to do because he is an enormously entitled and well-funded litigant who seeks to exact revenge on his former wife by decimating her financially leaving her without legal representation in this case," Young's team wrote in their documents presented to the court.

The couple married in 1996 and share two children.
