Guy Fieri Will Give The Winner Of His New Show Their Own Restaurant

Guy Fieri is fresh off the heels of an $80 million deal with the Food Network and now he's cooking up a new show with a big twist. The last competitor standing on Guy’s Chance of a Lifetime will walk away with one of the celebrity chef's very own Chicken Guy restaurants.

The mayor of Flavortown wants to show a side of the culinary world that is often overlooked on culinary television. The show will focus on marketing and front-of-house hospitality instead of the usual food preparation.

The show is being sold as more of a high-stakes interview than a cooking competition. Fieri is promising the winner will walk away with a franchise location of his Chicken Guy fast restaurant. Currently, the fast-food chain has only a handful of locations with a majority opening this year.

“I’ll tell you right now, this is not your every day, run-of-the-mill competition show,” said Fieri. “No eliminations, no meaningless cook-offs each week. It’s a real deal job interview for a life-changing opportunity. The candidates on Guy’s Chance of a Lifetime have to prove that they are the best all-around talent in the food business and if they can do that, we’re in business — together.”

According to Hollywood Reporter, the show's seven contestants will get a crash course in how the fast-paced chain operates. The show will culminate in a food festival where contestants will be judged on how well they serve hundreds of diners in short order.

Expect frequent Fieri collaborators to appear as judges, including business partner Robert Earl, as well as Maneet Chauhan, Hunter Fieri, Anthony Hoy Fong, Antonia Lofaso, Christian Petroni, and John Thall.

“We rolled cameras around the clock on Guy’s Chance of a Lifetime documenting every aspect of this unprecedented, grueling, 24/7 job interview,” said Courtney White, president of Food Network and streaming food content at Discovery, Inc. “To win, these applicants study through the night, then rise at dawn to apply their new skills on the real-life restaurant line with Guy assessing their every move. The pressure and stakes couldn’t be higher. It’s an intense journey and thrilling to watch.”

The show and Fieri’s new franchise are sure to help inflate the celebrity chef’s net worth, which currently stands at around $50 million.
