Kamala Harris' Inspiring Story Of Many Firsts | TheRichest.com

Kamala Harris has been credited as being a true trailblazer, achieving a variety of successes, titles, and special positions of honor. She has been able to secure many 'firsts' during her journey, and her career has come to include a long list of achievements and titles that she has been the very first to hold. Truly an idol to millions of women across the globe, and an inspiration to people from all walks of life, cultures, and ethnicities, Kamala Harris has paved the path of her own success and has opened many doors for others along the way.

Everyone that has come a long way in life credits a special person that inspired them to achieve their very best, and in Kamala Harris' case, the credit goes entirely to her mother. Kamala was born to parents that were both immigrants, and were familiar with the struggles of life. Her father had Jamaican roots, and her mother was Indian. When she was young, her parents divorced, and she was primarily in the care of her mother. During that time, her Hindu heritage was prevalent, but Kamala's mother also identified the need to continue to support her daughters' black culture.

Business World quotes Kamala as saying, "My mother understood very well that she was raising two black daughters. She knew that her adopted homeland would see Maya and me as black girls and she was determined to make sure we would grow into confident, proud black women."

Among many 'firsts' that Kamala Harris has clinched in the span of her life was her ability to become the top prosecutor for San Francisco. It was 2003 when she took this top honor, and little did she know, this would be just one of many moments in her life that she would be admired for her ability to carve a special place for herself in the world.

The door was now wide open, and Kamala Harris' successful career was seeing a huge upswing. The momentum continued well into 2017, during which time she marked another position of honor and was able to mark another 'first' under her belt.

This was when the hard-hitting, quick-witted professional became the first Black and Indian American woman to represent California in the United States Senate. The honor was commemorated by a number of news outlets which boasted her newfound success. "Kamala Harris grew up believing in the promise of America and fighting to make sure that promise is fulfilled for all Americans," was the first of many headlines she would grip.

Harris remained laser-focused and kept making huge strides in advancing her career. It seemed that just as she would mark one milestone, she was already well on her way to marking her place in yet another historical manner.

Adding to a very long and seemingly ever-growing list of accolades is the fact that Kamala Harris is one of just three Asian Americans in the Senate, and markedly, she is the first Indian-American to have ever served in Chamber. She went on to mark a variety of other 'firsts' as a County District Attorney.

The pattern was clear. Kamala Harris would continue to gain traction on every path she aspired to travel. Everything she touched turned into a wild success story, and that was not by chance. Harris's ability to zone in on the tasks at hand and her innate desire to overcome any and all forms of obstruction or interference were uncanny. She blasted past anyone that ever told her there was something that she wasn't able to achieve.

In a sea of firsts and massive accomplishments, perhaps the most significant role that Kamala Harris has ever filled is as the Vice President of the United States Of America.

The moment deserves pause.

When Biden selected her as his running mate in a direct effort to overhaul Donald Trump from The Oval Office, she instantly became the third woman to be selected as the VP on a major party ticket. The other two women that had once held this position were Sarah Palin and Geraldine Ferraro.

As far as credentials go, Kamala Harris had many on her belt. She was already widely recognized and respected, and as she transitioned to her new fight to become the Vice President of the USA, she was respectfully and wholly backed and supported by none other than the former President of the country, Barack Obama. Of course, Obama had taken a huge leap in the world of 'firsts,' by becoming the first black American President, and it was truly monumental that he would go on to "endorse her in her various elections including that of the US Senate in 2016."

Kamala Harris now occupies one of the most coveted 'firsts' of her life as the reigning Vice President of the United States of America. She became the first woman and the first Black and Indian-American Vice President of the United States. She is also the first woman of South Asian descent and the first daughter of immigrants that has ever been elected to national office in the USA. She inspired women across the world with her Vice Presidential acceptance speech and continues to pave the path for future generations with the passing of every day in office.

On November 19th, 2021, President Joe Biden underwent a medical procedure, and Kamala Harris snagged her most current claim to being 'first.' She became the first woman with Presidential Power.
