He’s appeared in a total of 43 films and has a career full of ups and downs. However, actor Dennis Quaid has ultimately come out on top with a net worth of $30 million and several classics under his belt.

Quaid has portrayed Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Balls of Fire!, Doc Holliday in Wyatt Earp and President Ronald Regan in a yet-to-be released biographical drama, Reagan.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Quaid hasn’t been so lucky in love, currently on his fourth marriage but the 67-year-old actor isn’t afraid to take risks, as seen in his range of television and movie roles.

The 1987 film was one of Quaid’s first roles and reviews weren’t half bad. Along side a young Martin Short, Meg Ryan and Kevin McCarthy, Quaid plays a test pilot who becomes miniaturized in a secret experiment and is accidentally injected into a store clerk. Not a classic for sure, but a good start for several young and upcoming stars.

13 Wyatt Earp – $25 Million

It’s surprising this film wasn’t more successful given the cast of Kevin Costner, Gene Hackman and Quaid depicting the thrilling adventure of the wild west. They travel from Kansas to Oklahoma as viewers watch the man become a legend.

12 Legion – $40 Million

According to IMDb, the fantasy/horror film follows Paul Bettany as Michael, an archangel, helping a group of strangers defeat a war against demonic forces. Quaid plays a supporting role, Bob Hanson and the critic behind the strange happenings.

11 Frequency – $45 Million

In a sci-fi drama starring Quaid and Jim Caviezel, the father/son pair use radio frequencies to connect over a 30-year period of time. In what Biography calls one of Quaid’s more “meaty” roles, the son attempts to save his father’s life, but must deal with the consequences of changing history.

10 Jaws 3D – $45 Million

Another early film by Quaid has him in the role of Mike Brody, the police chief of a small town when a 35-foot shark becomes trapped in a SeaWorld theme park. The heroes of the story, however, are the sons of the chief who have to rescue the town.

9 Dragon Heart – $51 Million

The 1996 film stars Sean Connery as the voice of Draco the dragon and is the story of one last dragon and one dragon slaying Knight (Quaid) who must work together to stop an evil King. The adventure and fantasy movie was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
