Cardi B Covers Funeral Costs For Victims Of A Bronx Fire
Cardi B has often commanded the headlines, and is no stranger to the spotlight when it comes to her musical empire, her movie roles, and her entrepreneurial skills as an artist. This time, however, she is being credited for rising to the occasion in a very different way. Many residents of a residential building in the Bronx succumbed to their injuries after an intense, fatal fire in the Bronx. Cardi B has stepped up to offer her support to grieving families. As a native of the Bronx, this story hit home for her, and she is providing this critical financial support in a time of dire need.
On January 9th, the flames and smoke bellowed through a 120-unit residential apartment in The Bronx, and many victims were rushed to the hospital for critical care. Sadly, 17 people did not survive the blaze. The victims ranged in age from 2 years old, to 50 years old, and the shock and horror of this tragedy continues to haunt the loved ones left behind.
Cardi B currently sits atop a massive fortune, but in spite of the fact that her future is secured by her current $40 million net worth, she has still not lost sight of where she came from. She routinely flaunts her wealth on social media, and she is now putting her money to use in a very different way. When the New York City native learned of the devastation left behind in her native community, she immediately took action to alleviate the financial burden felt by families whose loved ones had perished in the blaze.
Cardi issued a statement saying; "I send my prayers and condolences to everyone affected by this horrific tragedy." She backed her words up with actions shortly thereafter. The star has joined forces with The Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City to ensure that the wishes of the victims' relatives are met. She has generously offered to cover both the funeral costs as well as the burial expenses for everyone that lost their lives as a result of this horrific fire.
She went on to say; "I cannot begin to imagine the pain and anguish that the families of the victims are experiencing, but I hope that not having to worry about the costs associated with burying their loved ones will help as they move forward and heal."
