Inside The $50 Million Legacy That Bob Saget Left Behind

Bob Saget has spent four decades entertaining the masses and putting smiles on the faces of all those that tuned in to his comedic performances. In 2022, his net worth was calculated as being $50 million - a true testament of his boundless efforts in the entertainment industry and his enormous success.  He has been most comfortable on the stand up comedy stage, but is more widely recognized for the contributions he has made on the small screen. Generations of fans have grown up with Saget, who is best known as Danny Tanner on the legendary family sitcom, which ran from the late 80s and into the mid 90s. Fans were devastated to hear the sudden news of his passing on January 9th, 2022.

Bob Saget was born  in Philadelphia in 1956, and over the course of his childhood, it was evident that he had a genuine interest in the world of entertainment. He was known as the wisecracker in his kindergarten class that would always make his friends laugh, and with the support of his family, he was able to parlay his talents to the music industry, where he started filming at the age of 9.

As he journeyed through his childhood, Saget expressed interest in pursuing a career in medicine, but his grades weren't strong enough to support that venture. When his family moved from Philadelphia to Encino California, Saget stumbled back into the world of comedy, where he would spend the rest of his life.

He snagged an Academy Award in 1978, during his university years, and continued along the path of  his success.

The biggest role of Bob Saget's career was that of Danny Tanner on Full House, a single dad with 3 daughters that had to navigate his way through their daily routines. Fans were drawn to Saget's comedic antics on the show, and found the family-focused content to be both relatable, and entertaining.

He starred alongside John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodi Sweetin, Dave Coulier, and of course, Lori Loughlin and the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley.  Interestingly, the critics weren't fans of the program, but the show was an undeniable hit with fans across the glob, and reached the top 20 nearly immediately after its release.

Saget's success on the show soon began earning him well over $80,000 per episode, and he was said to have earned an astounding $1.9 million per episode during the final season of the show.

Bob Saget continued to throw himself into a variety of different comedic projects and was known to juggle more than one role at a time.

Some of his most notable appearances include his leading role in Raising Dad in 2001, which was a short-lived comedy that once again saw him playing the role of a widowed father. Fans knew him as Danny Tanner, and when he assumed the role of Matt Stewart on this show that drew many parallels to Full House, fans tuned out and ratings dropped. The show was canceled after the first season.

2005 featured Saget's crass and R-rated role in The Aristocrats which was a dramatic variation from the humor that he had previously displayed on television. Saget also went on to pursue the role of narrator for the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and made a guest appearance on Entourage. He demonstrated his skills behind the camera when he wrote, produced, and did the voiceovers for Farce of the Penguins as well.

Other notable projects Saget participated in include his stand up special Bob Saget: That Ain't Right, The Drowsy Chaperone, Surviving Suburbia, and That's What I'm Talking About.

Bob Saget reprised his role as Danny Tanner on the reboot of the show that ran from 2016 to 2020. Fuller House received lukewarm reviews, as fans flocked to the program to get a nostalgic fix.

In spite of the fact that his fans knew him best from his fame on television, Bob Saget's true love and passion was derived from the time he spent on the stand-up-comedy stage. He thrilled his fans with his very different comedic style, and when he had a microphone in his hand and an audience at his disposal, Saget's humor was known to take a dramatic turn. His content was very X-rated and he was known to push the boundaries of censorship with his vulgar jokes and brazen delivery.

Saget's dirty jokes often branched across the topics of sex and drugs, and were a stark difference from the wholesome image he portrayed on America's Funniest Home Videos and Full House. He was known on the stage as the man who delivered foul-mouthed jokes that were drowning in foul language.

This persona led to the release of Saget's book, Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian, which was a huge success and added yet another icome stream for the already wealthy comedian to enjoy.

Bob Saget was forced to adapt to the global pandemic in a big way. No longer able to entertain his adoring fans by spewing his vulgar venom on the stand up comedy stage, Bob Saget turned to podcasts to keep the dirty jokes coming. Bob Saget's Here For You podcast launched in April of 2020. This became a welcome avenue for Saget to infuse his fans with the laughter and jokes that they so desperately needed in their lives.

Not even a worldwide pandemic could stand in the way of the delivery of Saget's jokes.

Just a few short days into the 2022 calendar, on January 9th, news broke across all major media streams, announcing the sudden death of the beloved Bob Saget.  Shockwaves were felt across the globe as the messages started pouring in all over social media, relaying the message that Bog Saget was found unresponsive in his hotel room after completing a stand up comedy show the night before.

At the age of 65, Bob Saget died peacefully in his sleep. The world lost a beloved comedian far too soon.

After a full career in front of the camera, and endless hours being face-forward in front of his fans, Bob Saget had amassed a $50 million fortune. His earnings were generated from many facets of entertainment, and the impact he had made in the world is an undeniable one. A true force to be reckoned with, Saget was admired by many, and had the unique ability to appeal to fans of all ages.

Gone too soon, the star has left behind 3 children, who will undoubtedly inherit the fortune he worked so diligently to achieve.
