Creator Of ABC's Full House, Jeff Franklin, Is Selling His Beverly Hills Mansion For $85 Million
Seemingly in conjunction with the death of famed Full House comedian, Bob Saget, which sadly took place on January 9, 2022, the creator of Full House, Jeff Franklin, was planning on putting his monumental modern-style mansion on the market for $85 million. Franklin is a screenwriter, producer, and director for a list of iconic movies and television series, such as The Bad News Bears (1979), Malcolm and Eddie (1996-1999), Fuller House (2016-2020), and co-wrote the teen comedy Just One of The Guys alongside Dennis Feldman. Being the executive producer of the Full House paved the way for Bob Saget to become known as a household name, and the same can be said for the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen twin sisters.
While the mansion is an obvious stunner to the naked eye, there lies a disturbing backstory regarding its history. TMZ reported that the house is situated on the land where the Manson Family murders took place in August 1969. Among the slain were Sharon Tate, Abigail Folger, Steven Parent, Wojciech Frykowski, and Jay Sebring. It took a few decades, but the house was finally demolished in 1994.
In its place was erected a marvelous villa overlooking Beverly Hills. But there's even more of an eerie aura surrounding the reconstructed mansion. Reports have it that before putting the property in the market, Franklin hosted the reception for Bob Saget's family at that very residence after his funeral.
Nevertheless, none can argue that the Mediterranean-style structure is a beauty to behold. The vast, expansive home, known as the Cielo Estate, measures 21,000 square feet and is sprawled across 3.6 acres of land, boasting nine bedrooms and 18 bathrooms. Franklin originally purchased the unfinished mansion for $6.3 million in 2007, according to CNN news. Realizing its potential, he upgraded it with the help of architect Richard Landry.
The property now comes equipped with features such as a 75-yard infinity pool with three waterfalls, a 35-foot water slide, 2 Jacuzzis, a swim-up bar, private grotto, lazy river, cabana, BBQ area with fire pits, and a detached guest house for entertainment or extended-staying guests. The home's interior is decked with a home cinema, spa, gym, billiards game room, and even a spa. These details are most likely the reason that the descriptions under the listing of the home are described as 'exuding opulence' and the 'epitome of world-class Beverly Hills luxury living'.
While some buyers may be a bit apprehensive in light of the dark history the structure is built on, Jeff Franklin assures that the murders "...had absolutely no impact on my life whatsoever." Reports also suggest that the sale of the estate is being handled by Josh and Matt Altman, better known as The Altman Brothers, who are also famous for appearing on the Bravo! show Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.
