Inside Serena Williams' Stunning Florida Home | TheRichest.com
Serena Williams was only nine years old when she moved from Compton to Florida to attend a tennis academy that launched her career. Today, she holds the record of winning 23 Grand Slams in the Open Era, the most for any player. Along with being a tennis legend and one of the best athletes in the world, she has also become a savvy businesswoman with her multiple brand endorsements and business ventures. Williams has amassed a $210 million net worth and continues to work in different fields. One of her most ambitious projects was a home she built in Florida and her sister Venus Williams’ design firm V Starr.
A home built for a true champion, Serena Williams’ Florida home is built with warmth and has a lot of surprise elements that truly increase the beauty of the abode.
Serena Williams had lived on and off at her Palm Beach Gardens property since 1998 with her sister while also having residences in cities like Los Angeles and Paris. In 2015, the tennis star decided to purchase a property of her own and snagged a gorgeous waterfront estate in North Miami that offers breathtaking views from every direction and is just a walk away from her sister and parents’ residencies. Williams consulted with her sister Venus Williams and her design company V Starr to design the interior, as stated by Hello Magazine.
The home covers 14,500 sq. ft. of the area and has a Spanish Mediterranean-style exterior. Williams combined her love for modern art and technology to create a minimalist yet comfortable family home. It took three years until June 2020 to conduct a gut renovation and build the home of Serena Williams’ dreams.
The Florida home is a combination of sleek lines, warm woods, and high-end features that reflect the tennis star’s laidback yet bold personality. Unique in every way, V Starr designed an entrance unlike anything seen before. As mentioned by Hommes Studio, instead of decorating the foyer with a formal seating area and chairs, it has colorful art pieces on display that exudes the appearance of an art gallery. It is Williams’ favorite part of the home, and she enjoys living with art.
Following the colorful entrance is an open floor plan that is airy and drenches the room in sunlight from the 28-foot windows. One of Serena's most important rooms to design to perfection was the kitchen. With the consultation from her private chef, V Starr created a stand-out kitchen that submerges the home's aesthetics. Equipped with the finest appliances, the kitchen has an Officine Gullo cooktop, Gaggenau wall ovens, and a gold and black marble backsplash as a wow factor.
While many homes are decorated with exceptional detail provided to the Master Bedroom, Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian agree that their daughter Olympia has the most eye-catching room in the house. Her luxurious room has a customized castle bed with a slide and a glass chandelier hand-blown by artist Josh Fardis, as reported by People. While Williams has not released photos of all the bedrooms in the house, viewers glanced at one of the guest bedrooms painted in River Blue by Benjamin Moore and decorated with furniture from West Elm.
Along with a show stopping room for daughter Olympia and important rooms in the house, there is enough space to accommodate recreational spaces for the young family. The home has a sauna-equipped gym, expansive terraces that combines the indoors and outdoors, and a private trophy room for Williams to accommodate her many trophies and Grand Slam titles. Additionally, there is an expansive wine cellar and 620 sq. ft. of closet space to store clothes and accessories. The outdoors is equipped with an infinity pool that has submerged chaise lounges.
Every stunning home is special in its way, and Serena Williams took matters to the next level when she installed a secret karaoke room in her new home. According to Architectural Digest, it is located next to the entrance gallery, and the secret doorway to the karaoke is disguised as a built-in bookshelf. The beautiful karaoke room features a small stage for performance, foliage surrounding a neon sign that reads Sérénade, and a plush aquamarine velvet banquette. Williams decided against installing a tennis court in a home that features every amenity as she wanted to separate work from home and create a relaxing living experience.
Serena Williams and her sister Venus Williams have created a majestic home with the contribution of V Starr Interiors. The home is stunning inside and out and features every possible amenity that the family needs. While Williams has not released official photos of her house, viewers can glimpse the rooms through her social media posts.
