Natalie Portman Sells California Home For $8 Million After House Hunting In Australia
Natalie Portman is moving onto bigger and better things, as it’s been revealed the actress recently sold her Montecito, California home for an impressive $8 million.
According to Architectural Digest, the Black Swan alum and her husband, dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, listed their home late last year, though the news was only made public earlier this week. The mansion wasn’t on the market for long, however, as it reportedly sold quickly in an off-market deal. The buyer’s identity hasn’t been revealed.
The couple haven’t lived in the house for very long, though they earned a slight profit on it. Benjamin and Natalie were first reported to have purchased the property in 2017 for $6.5 million.
Located in Santa Barbara County’s Montecito, the property features 10.4 acres of land. The 3,991 square foot home was designed by famed architect Barton Myers, and features four bedrooms and five bathrooms. Its other features include floor-to-ceiling windows, glass garage doors, and sweeping views of the Pacific coast,
Additionally, it boasts a variety of outdoor amenities, including an assortment of trees and other foliage, an outdoor swimming pool, an outdoor fireplace and entertainment area, and numerous balconies with ocean views. There’s also an outdoor kitchen feature a bar and dining room with a retractable roof.
At this time, it’s unclear where Natalie and her family have moved to, though reports last year said they were looking into buying property in Australia.
Speaking to Women’s Day last July, real estate agent Gabin Rubinstein of Luxe Listings confirmed he showed the celebrity couple a home Sydney’s suburbs. The real estate agent confirmed the house Natalie looked at was “beautiful” and “expensive,” but declined to share whether she put in an offer.
Other reports claim that Natalie was seen looking at an Australian home in Mulbring at the Hunter Valley in May, and was offered a private inspect by Modern House’s Marcus Lloyd-Jones. The house in question is said to be valued at $3 million, though it’s unclear if Natalie expressed interest in purchasing it.
It's been reported that Natalie fell in love with the idea of living in Sydney, Australia after living there temporarily while filming for the Thor: Love and Thunder. The actress and her family rented a home during the temporary relocation, which Daily Mail claims cost them a cool $7,000 a month.
Natalie and Benjamin have been married since 2012 after meeting on the set of Black Swan. They lived in Benjamin’s native France shortly after marrying, but since then have spent the majority of their time in Los Angeles. The couple share two children – son Aleph (born in 2011) and daughter Amalia (born in 2017).
