The building is currently under renovation revealing an monumental and modern architecture which was emphasized by the use of traditional Roman materials and colors like the burnt red brick and Travertine marble.The said building is facing the Mausoleum of Augustus and the Ara Pacis. The Bulgari chief executive, Jean-Christophe Babin, said in the interview that they are very happy and proud that they were able to secure an extraordinary location for their luxurious hotel.
Bulgari Hotel Roma will be the latest Bvlgari hotel to open along with other Bulgari Hotels properties which the company planned to restore and redesign with the help of the Italian architectural firm, Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. The hotel has 114 rooms in total and most of the rooms will be suites and there will also be an in-house Il Ristorante which was curated by the Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito.
The Bulgari Hotel Roma will be designed inspired imperial splendor of its setting which will blend the past and present. It will chanel the unique legacy of Bulgari blended with the impeccably expressed Roman heritage which was inserted in every design detail of the hotel. The hotel will also have spa, gym, pool and library which were dedicated to the history of jewelry. The management aspires for the hotel to be the home of magnificent Bulgari Suite and the signature Bulgari dining and drinks destination, The Bulgari Bar and Il Ristorante - Niko Romito.
With the help of the principals of architecture firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, they share the process of reimagining the Bulgari Hotel Roma’s distinctive heritage which will be put in the context of Bulgari’s aesthetic which is striking. With the use of the imperial marble designed in a contemporary way, the designers of the hotel have worked with some large blocks of color to evoke the identity of Bulgari as the Roman jeweler. Through the bold vision of the architect, the original 1930s building will be transformed into a stunning and magnificent modern monument.
Bvlgari Hotel Roma will have a unique link with Emperor Augustus’ vision which will highlighted with the interior design balancing the rigor of the stones that were used in the Imperial Rome with concise yet powerful detail. It exudes rich textures which are contrasting with the building’s architectural essentiality.
