David Beckham Surprised His Son With A $500,000 Wedding Gift

Brooklyn Beckham and his new wife Nicola Peltz are driving off into the sunset with a new set of wheels thanks to dad David Beckham who surprised the newlyweds with a $500,000 1954 Jaguar. The new ride is icing on the cake for the couple who tied the knot at a $3.5 million wedding hosted at a billionaire’s compound in Florida.

Becks purchased the classic car for the lovebirds as a wedding gift. It’s a 1954 XKX140 Jaguar painted a gorgeous baby blue. If it looks familiar, that’s because it’s incredibly similar to the one Prince Harry and Meghan Markle used for their big day at Windsor in 2018.

Nothing about the car was left to chance. Becks even specifically requested the unique shade of baby blue and also demanded that its name stay confidential. Lunaz, the world's leading restoration and electrification company, electrified and re-engineered the British classic.

The 46-year-old father of the groom is an investor in the company. The company's work impressed Beckham, and he took a 10% stake in the company last year. And, even if he did splash $500,000 on a custom set of wheels, the gift is grabbing plenty of headlines and generating media attention for the athlete's investment.

Posh and Becks took the custom Jag out for a spin on Sunday, but their joyride didn't last long, and the couple handed the keys over to the newlyweds. Brooklyn and his bride sped off to a lavish brunch but later returned to tie the knot.

Lunaz founder and CEO David Lorenz said the reworked Jaguar was the perfect wedding gift for the couple.

He said: "This remarkable car is the perfect gift to his son Brooklyn and daughter-in-law, Nicola on their wedding day. In every respect, this extraordinary electric classic car by Lunaz symbolizes a bright, positive future.”

The smitten couple said 'I do' in a star-studded ceremony at the Peltz family’s $103m ocean-side family estate. The $3.5 million wedding saw no expense spared. The 300 guests enjoyed an endless stream of Bollinger champagne, cordon bleu grub, and tables adorned with $65,000 worth of rare orchids.
