Once Upon a Farm was initially formed in 2015 by two San Diego entrepreneurs Cassandra Curtis and Ari Raz, it was only in 2017 when John Foraker and Jennifer Garner joined their team. It was in late 2017 when actress and philanthropist Jennifer Garner has met up with an investor and CEO John Foraker to discuss a small yet visionary business which was built with the idea of making healthier options for kids. It is an organic family food company which offers a line of organic cold-pressed foods for babies. The company was established to provide a better and healthier food options for babies and kids by offering delicious and nutritious snacks and meals to them. John Foraker is the one who runs the farm and makes sure that their produce is in line with their mission, Jennifer Garner guides the Farm vision and oversees the overall branding of their product, Ari Raz on the other hand manages the farm and handles the distribution and Cassandra Curtis has dedicated her time to the farm kitchen to develop delicious recipes with the helping hand of the Certified Holistic Nutrition Expert to ensure that the kids get the nutrition their body needed.

It took them awhile to finally launch in across the U.S and only rolled out in 2018. According to Ari, they decided to take an aggressive posture since they thought that the association of chief brand officer Garner with the product will create opportunity for them to break through the market. During this time, their distributors and retailers have enough great demand for their product during the initial distribution. Early on, Once Upon a Farm have some top tier investors such as Venture Capital firms, Cambridge Companies SPG, Harbinger Ventures Group, Beechwood Capital and S2G Ventures.

Once Upon a Farm takes their business seriously and they make sure that they only use the best product to come up with nutritional food for kids. They make sure their products are clean and intentionally crafted in every recipe with the kids in mind. Once Upon a Farm is aware that the first bites for babies are important and they make sure that they provide all the kids’ need while giving them the most delicious food. As they aspire to drive more improvements on their products, they have been carefully studying each product before they release it to the market. The owners of the farm are committed to provide more than just the kid’s nutrition as they are passionate towards doing this in the best way possible as they strive to be among the purpose-led companies that nurtures the children of the generation.

Once Upon a Farm makes sure to pick the fresh fruits and veggies to make their products and the ingredients are immediately frozen to ensure that the nutrients are retained. It will go straight to packaging after being frozen for the parents to cook at home but there is also an option for pouched and cold pressed foods. When they first launched, they are only offering cold pressed organic baby food, however, with their goal to cater to more babies and kids, they have diversified their product portfolio. They are currently offering twelve types of products which are cold-pressed and ready-to-eat baby food pouches. They have also added three varieties of applesauce. Once Upon a Farm pouches are cold pressed through the use of high-pressure processing in order to maintain a higher nutritional content and retain its freshness.

The company’s currently food offering is just the initial implementation of a much bigger vision of the owners. They want to respond to the growing needs in terms of nutrition of the kids and families. Once Upon a Farm’s main goal is to grow into the new categories of food to provide the highest quality the best-tasting and most nutritious foods to as many children as possible using the most sustainable method. As of the moment, the products of Once Upon A Farm are being sold at the supermarkets in the U.S. however consumers can order through numerous online shops like AmazonFresh, Instacart, FreshDirect, GoPuff and Shipt. As of the moment, Once Upon A Farm goods are not yet available for international consumer however with their vision to feed nutritional foods to as many children as possible, they are looking into expanding worldwide as well.
