Inside Leonardo DiCaprio’s $9.9 Million Beverly Hills Home

Leonardo DiCaprio was a child actor who first gained critical acclaim for his performance in the 1993 coming-of-age movie What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? The film also earned him his first Academy Award nomination. He has been a sought-after lead actor ever since and starred in many critical and commercially successful movies throughout his career. The star has made over $300 million throughout his acting career and an additional $100 million through brand endorsements. Leo has spent a fortune on real estate ever since he was young. While many celebrities prefer to renovate and flip homes, DiCaprio has retained many of his homes. His latest purchase is a Beverly Hills mansion that he bought in December 2021 for $9.9 million.

Tucked away in a celebrity-packed neighborhood, the actor managed to bag a beautiful home that adds another estate to his already sprawling property portfolio.

A home that combines an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, Leo’s Beverly Hills estate was first built in the 1930s and remodeled in the last few years. Randy Fred and Rana Desar from Rodeo Realty Brokers first shared the property's listing, as noted by Observer. The property had an original asking price of $10.2 million when listed, but the actor received a small discount of $300,000, and he acquired it for $9.9 million. It is still a hefty profit for its previous owners, who had bought the place in 2016 for only $6.1 million. The house has been through a trendy restoration to enhance the estate's charm.

Located in the Beverly Hills Flats, the 5,000 sq. ft of the estate is tucked away behind secured walls and tall gates to offer utmost privacy. The interior is decked with steel-case doors, pleasing lighting fixtures, and chevron and white oak floors. At the entrance, the traditional structure is greeted with high ceilings and a curved spiral staircase that leads to the home's upper level, as stated by The Sun.

Inside, the living room has a gray wood-paneled interior with tall built-in bookshelves, and adjoining the room is an entertainment area with an open concept that has access to the wet bar and the backyard. The gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream, featuring top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances. Along with a beverage center, a kitchen island accented with black granite and white Carrara marble for an austere look. Next to the kitchen is a breakfast nook with an al-fresco dining terrace connected to the expansive backyard.

The Beverly Hills home has five bedrooms and six bathrooms on the spacious property. The Upper Floor has three bedrooms, including the Master Suite, which has a dramatic Cathedral ceiling and a mini-bar. According to Yahoo News, the Master Bathroom is designed with luxe marble with an oval soaking tub, a freestanding shower, and a lounge that leads to the balcony. The bedrooms and additional storage rooms offer ample space to secure personal items. There are several seating areas throughout the house if any guests come over.

No home is complete without a furnished backyard, and Leonardo has a well-equipped area outdoors to enjoy a day in the sun or host a party for friends and family. The area outdoors is surrounded by dotted and mature olive trees that drench patches of land with comfortable shade. Alongside the grassy yard is a large rectangular pool decked with sun loungers. Behind the lounge space is an expansive fire pit area with a canopy and gray armchairs. As mentioned by Dirt, the estate has a one-car garage located next to the guest house. The guest house also has a patio area for outdoor dining and grilling.

The Beverly Hills home is not the only purchase made by the actor in 2021. Earlier that year, he bought a Spanish colonial home in Los Feliz from Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson for $7.1 million. The house was designed by Ferguson and his husband, Justin Mikita, in collaboration with Peter Gurski, who was the former set designer on the sitcom Will & Grace. The Los Feliz property was also once owned by Gwen Stefani and later Robert Pattinson. The star’s property portfolio includes a Belize Island, a Battery Park apartment in New York City, a Malibu home, and another Los Feliz mansion.

The Beverly Hills estate will remain an additional home to Leo’s collection. He still has a primary residence in the infamous Bird Street neighborhood in LA, a coveted location for celebrity homes. His newest purchase in Beverly Hills will offer the star privacy and luxurious yet straightforward amenities.
