Inside Superyacht Moneikos: Leonardo Del Vecchio's $40 Million Superyacht

Italian billionaire businessman and the founder Luxottica, Leonardo Del Vecchio, has amazingly amassed a net worth of $33 billion. Luxottica is considered to be the world's largest producer and seller of frames and glasses worldwide. Del Vecchio owns about 62% of the shares in the company and holds the shares through his company called Delfin SARL. The company has over 77,734 employees and about 8,000 stores and branches across the world.

As of last year, Del Vecchio is estimated to be the second richest man in Italy and the 41st richest man in the world. With this kind of money, it is safe to say that Leonardo Del Vecchio can buy whatever he wants and can do whatever he pleases. Among his purchases is the magnificent superyacht named Moneikos which he bought in 2006. Take a peek at the stunning superyacht owned by Leonardo Del Vecchio.

The luxurious yacht that was designed by Anna Dellarole of Della Role Design has a lot of features to offer. Anna Dellarole of Della Role Design is also the person responsible for the beautiful interiors of the yacht. The Moneikos is owned by the second richest man in Italy, Leonardo del Vecchio, who made his wealth and fortune through the company Luxottica. The founder and owner Luxottica bought the superyacht Moneikos for $40 million in 2006. The modern interiors of the yacht are one of the reasons why Leonardo del Vecchio decided to make the purchase. Among the great features of the yacht that can make the millions of dollars spent on it are the humungous swimming pool with a continuous water flow generator, an elevator and its lavish design. Although the superyacht is already beautiful on its own, Leonardo del Vecchio decided to commission the Genoese Amico & Co shipyard to do the repair work that he wanted to be done on the vessel.

There can be about sixteen guests that can comfortably be accommodated by Leonardo Del Vecchio’s Moneikos and crew members totaling to sixteen people as well. The luxury motor yacht was built in 2006 at the Viagerrio shipyard by the Codecasa Yachts, an Italian shipyard. The exteriors of the yacht were done by the collaboration between Codecasa and Studio Dellarole. Studio Dellarole also did the interiors of the boat. The sizeable luxury motor yacht has about 62 metre of space and has a massive space for all its five levels. It offers ample space for accommodating all the people onboard who can easily access the deck of the yacht.

Moneikos is powered by two 3516B diesel Caterpillar that can bring a maximum speed of 17 knots and a normal cruising speed of 12 knots. The luxurious yacht also has a range of 6,000mm with an aluminum superstructure and steel hull. It also utilizes twin screw propellers and can approximately store 30,000 liters of fresh water on board. The yacht utilizes an HP of 4520 HP and the total kilowatts used by the yacht are about 3650. Moneikos is listed as 419th largest yacht in the world and said to be the seventh largest yacht which was built by Codecasa. The superyacht is currently not available for charter.

Moneikos can be described as a luxurious modern and minimalistic yacht. The interiors of the yacht have ultra-modern juxtaposition of some dark wood flooring with some pale joinery and bulkheads. The interiors of the yacht give off a vibe of serenity and calmness. The soft furnishings of the yacht provide some comfort to the people on board without much unnecessary clutter. There is eight luxurious cabins that comprises an indulgent main suite, 4 deluxe cabins and 3 twin cabins. The main deck house of the yacht has two double bedded cabins and a twin room while the lower deck houses the two double bedded cabins with a spacious walk in closet and two twin rooms. The indulgent main suite has a stunning 180 degree sea view with a sprawling bathroom and an eye-catching walk-in cupboard. All the cabins on board are equipped with private bathrooms and some writing desks.

Aside from the cabins, there are also two salons on board which are located on the upper and main decks of the yacht. The location of the salons is ideal for some meetings and gatherings that can be held at the yacht. The upper deck of the yacht also houses a stunning dining area which can sit up to 16 guests that has some oversized pool with a spacious sun-bathing area. The lower deck has a garage where the tenders are being stored. There is an extraordinary staircase on the yacht and some internal lift service available to the people on board that can take them on all five levels of the yacht.
