Kim Kardashian Is Merging Her KKW Beauty Brands Under One Name
Kim Kardashian is the force behind several successful beauty brands – KKW Beauty, KKW Skin and KKW Fragrance. But the reality star recently revealed her plans to incorporate her KKW brands under one name for simplicity's sake.
During an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast on Tuesday, the mother-of-four revealed her plans to rename the three companies. Kim said that having three brands (with separate websites) featuring KKW in their name was hindering the customer experience.
"What I really wanted to do was, I felt so bad that the customer had to go from KKW Beauty, then would go to KKW Skin, then would go to KKW Fragrance — that's shipping costs at three different websites,” she explained to host Amanda Hirsch. “And I felt so bad. And then Skims, you know what I mean? So, I wanted one beauty brand."
Though the makeup mogul declined to reveal the name for the new brand, she confirmed it will house all of her beauty brands. However, her loungewear company SKIMS will remain a separate endeavour.
"It'll just be my beauty brand where you can [buy] everything beauty," Kim explained. "It's like starting my own brand. You know, like a new brand and that makes me so happy. It's just like, I love the process of the whole thing of starting something new."
During the podcast episode, Kim confirmed the renaming has nothing to do with her divorce from Kanye West, despite fans speculating she wants to drop the ‘W’ from KKW "Everyone thinks like, 'Oh my God, it's just to get the 'W' off,'" she shared, adding, “That’s not it.”
The news of Kim’s plan to merge her KKW brands into one may not come as a surprise to many, as she previously announced two the brands were undergoing big changes.
Last August, KKW Beauty released a statement via Instagram that it would be shutting down to develop a “new, more modern, elevated and sustainable brand and customer experience.”
Similarly, earlier this month, KKW Fragrance shared on Instagram its website will be shutting down to “relaunch the fragrance in the future under a new brand name.”
As of now, it remains unclear when the website for the unified beauty brand will launch or what its name will be.
Kim’s latest business move is likely in effort to expand her global empire. The reality star has seen great success with her numerous brands, especially SKIMS, which was valued at over $3.2 billion earlier this year. More recently, the brand launched a swimwear line on top of its original intimates and loungewear pieces.
