Tekashi 6ix9ine Sued For $2 Million After Bailing On Concerts

Tekashi 6ix9ine has found himself in hot water again, this time for allegedly skipping out on two concert appearances.

According to TMZ, Streamusic has launched a $2 million lawsuit against the rapper for failing to perform at two scheduled shows in Hollywood in December 2021. The music app arranged to pay Tekashi $150,000 for playing the two shows, which would be live streamed on their platform.

However, shortly before December, Streamusic says the rapper stopped responding when they began pressing him to promote the events on social media. Subsequently, they say Tekashi went on to blow off the concerts without any prior warning.

Court documents reveal that Tekashi reached out to the app in January to reach a new deal. The company alleges he tried to reschedule the concerts for later that month. Despite agreeing to his suggestion, Streamusic alleges that the rapper once again ghost them ahead of the rescheduled concerts.

Now, the app is hoping to receive a million-dollar payout for breach of contract.

As per TMZ, Tekashi’s team hasn’t confirmed or denied the allegations. But they said he’s still yet to receive information on the lawsuit.

"We have no comment at this time. Tekashi has not been served with any legal papers,” his attorney said.

Interestingly, this isn’t the only time Tekashi has bailed on a scheduled performance. Last year, he received backlash from fans for cancelling a Houston, Texas concert last minute, Hip Hop DX confirms.

The rapper turned to the media to defend himself, explaining the cancellation was over a money dispute. According to Tekashi, he was promised $250,000 for the performance, which was to be held at the Humble Civic Center.

But after only receiving $70,000 before the performance, he decided to cancel it entirely (and return the money) only hours before he was supposed to take the stage.

It was so last minute, fans had already filled the stadium – doors opened at 3 p.m. Reports say that concert-goers waited until 10 p.m. when security finally forced the venue to close. Tickets ranged between $500 to $3,000.

Tekashi 6ix9ine only recently announced his return to music after a series of legal troubles. Earlier this month, he teased new music through his Instagram page.

“I hope everybody enjoyed there 15 minutes,” he captioned the post. “THE DEMON IS BACK APRIL 15TH. I’m THE BEAST they couldn’t contain. The industry most hated animal. APRIL 15th the KING OF NEW YORK IS COMING BACK. I’m going back home.”

The upcoming album will be his latest release since February 2021.
