We’ve seen some of Hollywood’s finest step away from the limelight to follow the needs of their family in the past and ledged comedian Rick Moranis is one of them.

Moranis stepped back in the mid-nineties after a string of successful comedies when his wife passed away in 1991. He had two young children and chose to focus on raising them, versus the travel and fast-moving life of a celebrity.

According to TODAY, fans are excited to see the Ghostbusters star tiptoeing into the A-listers pool again with a recent MintMobile commercial alongside fan and celebrity in his own right, Ryan Reynolds.

He’s also been reportedly talking with Disney about reprising his role in an upcoming addition to the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids franchise starring Frozen’s Josh Gad. A release date has not been announced, but look out for the tentatively titled, Shrunk to hit theaters soon.

While it’s been more than two decades since Moranis has starred in a feature film, fans won’t forget the cult classics he gave them over the years. Take a look at Moranis’ top grossing box office films to date.

11 My Blue Heaven – $23 Million

Moranis stars alongside Steve Martin, in another film in which the pair worked together as an uptight FBI agent protecting a mobster (Martin) under the witness protection program.

10 Brewster’s Millions – $38 Million

According to IMDb, Moranis teams up with comedy geniuses of the 80’s and 90’s, including John Candy, in a film about a minor league baseball player (Richard Pryor) that has to spend $30 million in 30 days in order to inherit $300 million. He can’t own any assets, destroy the money, give it away or donate it to charity.

9 Little Shop of Horrors – $38 Million

While not a huge hit at the box office, over the years, the film has become a classic with fans. Moranis starred Seymour Krelborn, a shy man with a green thumb who creates a human-eating plant. Lots of cameos and special characters grace the film including Steve Martin, John Candy, Jim Belushi, Bill Murray and Christopher Guest.

8 Spaceballs – $38 Million

The film was not super successful at the box office yet created a following well beyond it’s time on the big screen. The Sci-Fi comedy was a spoof on the Star Wars franchise and again, put Moranis alongside some fellow comedians and good friends. Moranis is hard to miss as Dark Helmet, a hilarious version of the Darth Vader character.

7 Honey, I Blew Up the Kid – $58 Million

The cast returns in a sequel following the Szalinski family, when in an unfortunate turn of events, Wayne Szalinski (Moranis) causes their toddler son to grow many stories taller than the world has seen.

6 Brother Bear – $85 Million

In one of his last roles in Hollywood, Moranis lent his voice to the character Rutt, one of two comedic Canadian moose in the film. Dave Thomas voiced the second moose, Tuke. Moranis reprised his role in Brother Bear 2, scoring another $85 million at the box office.

5 Parenthood – $100 Million

Alongside good friend, Steve Martin, the film follows the Buckman’s, a midwestern family dealing with daily pressures of life; relatives, children, work and the goal of trying to be the best parent and spouse possible. Moranis plays Martin’s brother-in-law, Nathan and part of the Buckman family issues.

4 Ghostbusters II – $112 Million

Moranis reprises his role as Louis Tully, a talkative accountant and inexperienced attorney for the Ghostbusters team. Audiences flocked to watch the second installment of the hit film and even today, remakes and new versions have brought out fans of the popular franchise.

3 The Flintstones – $130 Million

The classic re-make of our favorite Hanna Barbera cartoon followed John Goodman as Fred Flintstone and Moranis as Barney Rubble alongside their wives, played by Rosie O’Donnell and Elizabeth Perkins. 2 Honey, I Shrunk the Kids – $130 Million

The Disney, family classic follows scientist Wayne Szalinski (Moranis) and the story of four children that were shrunk to the size of an ant to find their way through the Szalinski’s backyard and back to their father to solve the mystery and bring them back to full size. The film is perhaps the biggest starring role of the 67-year-old’s career and according to Celebrity Net Worth, one of the reasons he can boast a net worth of $10 million today.

1 Ghostbusters – $238 Million

The 1984 classic starred funny men Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. Moranis plays Louis Tully, an geeky accountant that gets possessed by Keymaster Vinz Clortho, causing trouble wherever he goes.
