Elon Musk Threatened By Russian Space Chief: “It's Been Nice Knowin Ya”

Elon Musk has been threatened by Russian space chief Dmitry Rogozin, who vowed to hold him accountable. The space chief accused the world's richest man of not only supplying Ukraine with internet service but alleges that he also helped the occupied nation outwit Russia with its drones in the ongoing conflict.

The Tesla CEO shared a note on Twitter that he said Rogozin, the head of Russia's federal space agency Roscosmos, had sent out to Russian media. The note asserted that Musk aided “fascist forces” in Ukraine when he supplied soldiers with SpaceX's Starlink satellite-internet system.

“From the testimony of the captured chief of staff of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Dmitry Kormyankov, it follows that the ground-based subscriber equipment of the Starlink satellite company Elon Musk was delivered to the militants of the Nazi Azov Battalion and the Marines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Mariupol by military helicopters,” Rogozin wrote Sunday night, in a message shared both to the Russian media and Telegram.

“Elon Musk is thus involved with supplying the fascist forces in Ukraine with military communications,” Rogozin continued. “And for this, you will have to answer in an adult way, Elon, no matter how much you'll play the fool.”

Musk first responded to the threat on Monday morning, tweeting, “The word 'Nazi' doesn't mean what he seems to think it does,” alongside a picture of Rogozin’s message.

The statement by the Russian space chief didn’t provide any details on what being “held accountable” meant, but Musk seemingly took the words as a threat.

“If I die under mysterious circumstances, it’s been nice knowin ya,” Musk tweeted. “There are no angels in war.”

According to Fortune, Rogozin directly tweeted Musk a response some hours later, writing, “Nobody needs you. Stop fooling around. Today my country celebrates a great day—Victory Day over fascism.”

He added: “After what you did by supplying the means of communication to the Ukrainian Nazis, unfortunately, I cannot congratulate you on this holiday. Think, Elon, which side are you on?”

Musk sounded unruffled by the threats, tweeting this morning: “Chocolate milk is insanely good. Just had some.”
