Kim Kardashian Buys 3-Year-Old Son A $200,000 Birthday Gift
Kim Kardashian celebrated her son Psalm's birthday in grandiose fashion by hosting a quirky Hulk-themed bash complete with a massive statue of his likeness. But, it was something else green that stole the show. Heads turned after Kim shared a few shots from the celebration on Instagram —including one which showed off her son’s new $200,000 emerald chain!
In the shot, the youngest member of the Kardashian-West family rocks a stunning emerald-clad chain around his neck. The pricey piece features a jewel-studded “P” initializing the little one’s name, but the precious stones look like they wrap around the entire circumference of the pendant.
Ajay Anand, CEO of Rare Carat Diamond Marketplace, spoke to The Sun about the price of the beauty, where he claimed that the price was of no concern to the billionaire SKIMS founder. He told the mag that the piece appeared to “contain over 40 carats of emeralds” of square-shaped and rectangular cuts —which he says comes at a massive cost.
"Often, jewelry designers will resort to using smaller emerald sizes in the chain to keep prices down; it is clear that no expense was spared here on quite a chunky design," said Ajay, who also noted the uniqueness of the jewels, saying: “That is unusual and not as exclusive about this necklace is that it seems to combine different emerald shades.”
He continued: "Usually, high-end jewelry would stay consistent to one shade and one country of origin. Perhaps that is a sign that their jeweler is cutting a few corners."
Lucky for Psalm, Kim and Kanye West are some of the richest parents in Hollywood. So rich that this isn’t even the first piece of pricey bling they’ve purchased for the tot!
The Kardashian-Jenner fan account Kardashian Social pointed out that little Psalm actually has a growing collection of bling. They shared an old clip of Kim chatting with Ellen on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in which Kim boasts about an enormous gold chain the tiny tyke previously wore.
"He wears this fake, giant chain" Ellen began to say before Kim promptly cut her off: "Wait, did you say fake?"
Kim appeared almost offended by the assumption and insisted that the gold was real.
