3 Nothing Was The Same (2013)
Breaking the record of his mentor Lil Wayne’s album The Carter IV, Nothing Was The Same saw the highest first-week sales for a hip-hop album with 658,000 copies. It passed one million sales in a month and stayed at the top spot on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Album Hot 100 for five weeks and six weeks on the Billboard 200. Out of the thirteen tracks, Started From The Bottom and Hold On, We’re Going Home were on the Top 10 Billboard 100 chart. At the Grammys 2014, Nothing Was The Same won the award for Best Rap Album.
2 Scorpion (2018)
Drake saw astronomical success with Scorpion, his fifth studio album. Due to its lengthier songs, the twenty-five-track studio album had an A-side and a B-side. Scorpion was on the top spot on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for eight consecutive weeks, a feat never achieved by an artist before. The album sold 3.905 million equivalent album sales, out of which 330,000 were album sales, making it the most-streamed album of 2018, as stated by Forbes. His most successful and record-breaking album to date, Drake’s Views, was his fourth studio album that took the world by the storm. Along with spending 13 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 200 chart, it sold 4.1 million album-equivalent units. Views saw 5.1 million song downloads, 1.6 million traditional sales, and a whopping 3 billion streams, as reported by USA Today. His single Hotline Bling won two Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Performance and spent nineteen weeks in the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
