Nene Leakes Being Sued By Boyfriend’s Wife For Homewrecking
Nene Leakes may have found love after her husband’s death, but her new boyfriend’s wife isn’t going to back down without a fight – a legal one, that is.
According to TMZ, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum is being sued for $100,000 by Malomine Tehmen-Sioh, who is still legally married to Nene’s boyfriend, Nyonisela Sioh. Court documents reveal that Malomine is alleging Nene and her husband had an affair, which has ruined their marriage.
Malomine also claims that Nene’s constant boasting of the relationship on social media caused her further anguish and stained her marriage.
The lawsuit was filed in North Carolina, 1 of 7 American states in which a person can be sued for adultery. Malomine is claiming she suffered “emotional distress, mental anguish, and a loss of affection,” TMZ notes, and is seeking a six-figure settlement.
Nene and Nyonisela were first publicly linked in December 2021, which was only 3 months after Nene’s husband Gregg Leakes passed away from colon cancer. The former couple were married twice, first from 1997 to 2011 and then from 2013 to his passing in 2021.
"She can't stop smiling around Nyonisela. It's still very new but she's almost like a teenager with him, just light and giggly and feeling those new relationship butterflies," a source told PEOPLE of the new relationship.
"It was obviously very hard for NeNe after Gregg's death, but she had been his caretaker for so long, she really lost what it was like to have a partner who prioritizes you," they added.
Nene is going to be spending a lot of time in court in the near future, as this isn’t the only lawsuit she’s involved with. In April, the reality star filed a lawsuit against the producers of The Real Housewives of Atlanta over a toxic workplace and discrimination.
The television personality names Bravo, NBC Universal, True Entertainment, Truly Original, and Andy Cohen in the ongoing lawsuit.
Though she’s not listed as a defendant, Nene mentions her former co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann in the case. She claims that Kim subjected her to years of racist treatment, but when she brought it up to the producers they pushed her instead of Kim.
“From the day the series began filming, NeNe was the target of systemic racism from co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann, which was tolerated by Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen and other executives,” Leakes’ lawyer, David deRubertis, stated.
Nene was a regular cast member on the show from 2008-2015 as well as 2017-2020.
