Chris Evans & Ryan Gosling Go On Date To Raise $200,000 For Cancer

A hot date for a good cause? Apparently, this is a recipe for success, after Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling raised several hundreds of thousands of dollars to support childhood charity.

According to TMZ, the actors recently participated in red carpet fundraiser that brought in over $270,000. The campaign was done to support Chris’ charity Christopher’s Haven Inc., which provides short-term, affordable housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Interested participants were instructed to enter their names into a raffle for the chance to be flown out to the premiere of Chris and Ryan’s new film The Gray Man in true VIP style. The all-expenses paid trip included a stay at a 4-star hotel and a chance to join the actors on the red carpet for the premiere.

The winners have already been chosen, and it’s reportedly a woman named Lula H. from Columbus, Ohio, who will be joined by her daughter Mariah.

It was reported last month that the sweepstakes were opened for people to enter. All folks had to do was make a donation to Chris’ charity, and they would be automatically entered into the raffle.

“Chris Evans [and] Ryan Gosling’s personal guest at the premiere of The Gray Man,” the contest described.

The contest was held in partnership with Omaze, a fundraising platform that helps host contests in order to raise funds for a variety of causes. “We give everyone a chance to dream big and win once-in-a-lifetime prizes while helping to make the world a better place,” Omaze says of its goals.

“This sustainable approach to fundraising means that nonprofits can spend less time and money raising funds, and instead focus on serving the needs of their communities,” the company continues.

To date, Omaze says it’s helped raise $150 million to support 350 international charities. The platform promises to raise 40 times the amount that can be earned at traditional auctions and galas, and in a more time and cost efficient manner.

Christopher’s Haven isn’t the only pediatric cancer charity Omaze is supporting. The platform is currently hosting a contest to raise funds for Oscar’s Kids, which supports research into childhood cancer. Folks currently have a chance to win an Audi RS e-tron GT by donating to the charity.

The contest closes on October 14, 2022, and the winners will be announced on November 2, 2022.

The Gray Man drops on Netflix on July 22.
