These Are The Highest-Grossing Hip-Hop And RnB Tours Of The Last Decade

The music industry has changed dramatically since the turn of the century. In fact, it’s been almost entirely transformed. From the rise of streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music to the emergence of social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter, the way we consume music has gone through several major shifts. And one of those changes has been the rise of live touring. While there are artists who prefer smaller venues where fans can see them up close, plenty of big name artists still perform in huge arenas around the world.

However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the industry ground to a halt as people avoided congregating in large numbers. The industry suffered a loss because the majority of planned live events did not take place. According to a report by Pollstar, they lost nearly $30 billion in revenue from sources like transportation, merchandise sales, ticket sales, concession sales, hotel stays, concert sponsorships, and other ancillary income.
