The 10 Highest-Grossing Mark Ruffalo Films, Ranked | TheRichest

Mark Ruffalo is best recognized by mainstream audiences as Bruce Banner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a position he assumed with skepticism. The earlier incarnations of the Hulk, portrayed by Eric Bana and Edward Norton, failed to successfully launch the character, and Mark Ruffalo's first appearance as the character was in the big crossover The Avengers. He captivated the hearts of fans immediately and has been a terrific recurrent character in the series for the past ten years. Here is a look at the 10 highest-grossing Mark Ruffalo films.

10 Collateral ($220.9 Million)

If Ruffalo had not become an actor, he would have been an excellent police officer (at least he has that look). In Michael Mann's outstanding Los Angeles-based thriller, Ruffalo plays narcotics detective Ray Fanning, who discovers the connections between the victims left behind by Vincent (Tom Cruise). Fanning does manage to save taxi driver Max Durocher (Jamie Foxx) before meeting his fate, but Ruffalo's presence provides "Collateral" with the necessary weight on the side of the good people.

9 Shutter Island ($299.4 Million)

Mark Ruffalo is an extraordinarily subtle actor, and he helps conceal all of Shutter Island's fascinating story twists until the very end. The psychological thriller directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese follows Leonardo DiCaprio's Teddy Fields, a U.S. Marshall dispatched to investigate a psychiatric facility on a mysterious island with his sidekick Chuck Aule (Ruffalo). Rewatching with the finale in mind demonstrates Ruffalo's ingenuity in his choices to conceal Aule's motives.

8 Now You See Me 2 ($328.3 Million)

One year after outsmarting the F.B.I. and garnering public acclaim with their Robin Hood-style magic acts, The Four Horsemen reappear with the intention of exposing the unscrupulous practices of a tech billionaire. Walter Mabry, a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most improbable heist to date, is the guy behind their disappearance. Their only hope is to pull off one final, unprecedented prank to clear their names and expose the culprit. In the film, Mark Ruffalo's spectacular performance left an enduring impression.

FBI Agent Dylan Rhodes, portrayed by Mark Ruffalo, and Interpol Agent Alma Dray are assigned to investigate how they accomplished it. Despite Thaddeus Bradley's expertise as a professional illusion debunker, this enigma proves to be difficult to unravel. What follows is a weird investigation in which nothing is as it seems, with illusions, dark secrets, and hidden intentions aplenty, while all concerned are reminded of a fundamental reality regarding this puzzle: the closer you look, the less you see.
