Jamie King’s Ex Slams Her For Not Paying Child & Spousal Support

Jamie King’s estranged husband Kyle Newman claims the actress is behind on spousal and child support payments, and he’s filed a complaint with the court in hopes of making her pay up.

According to court documents, Kyle says Jamie is nine months behind on the payment, which were mandated by a court earlier this year. The Hart of Dixie star was ordered to pay her ex $429 per month in child support as well as $1,000 per month in spousal support.

Kyle further claims that he put his career on hold has a filmmaker to support Jamie’s career. This has now put him in a tough financial position as their sons’ primary guardian – and it’s only exacerbated by Jamie’s failure to pay up.

"Jaime has historically been the breadwinner of this family while Kyle's career as a writer and director was put on hold so that Kyle could be the stay-at-home parent," the documents say.

"[Jamie] has refused to pay ... child or spousal support at all, leaving Kyle and their children in dire straits,” they continue. “While Jaime still has several nannies help her care for the children Kyle has not been able to afford childcare.”

The documents also say that the actress’ estranged husband is now in debt, both to his family and credit card companies. Additioaly, Kyle says he can’t pay rent.

It continues, “[Kyle] has fallen deeply into debt, including having to withdraw funds from his retirement account just to meet his monthly expenses. Kyle also has considerable credit card debt and owes money to family members."

Kyle’s complaint also alleges Jamie “completely drained” their $500,000 retirement fund and listed their family home for $2.8 million without his consent or knowledge. The filmmaker is asking for $700,000 from the sale of the house. He also wants his ex to be sanctioned for $50,000 in addition to paying the back due child and spousal support.

A source close to the actress says that “none” of her ex’s allegations are “correct or true.”

"Kyle is not allowing Jaime to close this chapter of her life and move on,” the insider claimed.  “Jaime as a single mother is taking care of her children and is working consistently to ensure the safety and well-being of their sons in privacy."

Jamie originally filed for divorce from Kyle in 2020 after 12 years of marriage. At the time, she requested a domestic violence prevention petition and a temporary restraining order. The two have been battling for custody ever since.
