Kanye Refuses To Show Up In Court To Divide Assets With Kim Kardashian

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were declared legally single earlier this year, but their divorce isn’t over yet. The exes are still dividing their assets and agreeing to a custody arrangement in court, but Kanye is making it difficult.

According to TMZ, court documents reveal that Ye was supposed to make an appearance in court on November 16th for a deposition where he’d be questioned by Kim’s lawyers. However, the rapper failed to show up for the mandatory appearance.

Apparently, Kanye is being given one more chance to appear for the deposition, which has been rescheduled for November 29th at 9:30am.

TMZ explains that Kanye’s absence – especially if it happens again – won’t bode well for him when he and Kim appear before a judge on December 14th to conclude the divorce.

It’s possible that exes could reach a settlement before the December court date, but it’s unlikely given Ye’s reluctance to cooperate..

Kanye’s net worth has taken a hit amid his most recent controversial behavior, which includes a series of anti-Black and antisemitic comments The designer lost a variety of partnerships, including his long-time Yeezy collaboration with Adidas, who said they’ll continue to sell Yeezy products but without Kanye’s involvement.

After losing Adidas, Forbes reported that Kanye had lost his billionaire status. Now, the rapper is reportedly worth $400 million, despite once being valued at $1.5 billion.

Ye is also facing a variety of legal troubles. He’s being sued by George Floyd’s family for $2500 million following defamatory comments. He’s also being sued by numerous ex-employees and has already made pay outs to some former staff.

There have been reports that Kanye is hoping for a big pay day from Kim amid his financial woes.

Earlier this month, we reported that Kanye is hoping to have his prenuptial agreement with Kim voided.

"She's very aware that he could be knocking on her day at any point, and the chances of him coming to the negotiating table for anything less than $1 billion are pretty slim. That's just how he rolls," a source told Radar Online.

"Kanye still has a ton up his sleeve that he could use against Kim, and she knows that," they added.

The same source claimed Kim is considering a restraining order, as her ex continues to harass her and her family. Recently, however, Kim and Kanye were spotted talking during their son Saint’s sports game, so maybe there is some amicability left between the former couple.
