10 Sean Michael McDermott ($8 Million)

Sean Michael McDermott is an American coach, 2 times NFC champion who currently coaches the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League since 2017. His NFL coaching career began in 2001 as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, he then became the secondary coach of the team in 2007. 2011 saw him becoming the defensive coordinator for Carolina Panthers. He currently earns $8 million per annum.

9 Andy Reid ($8 Million)

Another highest-paid NFL coach on the list is the American coach Andy Reid who currently earns $8 million per annum, his coaching career started in 1982 as a Graduate assistant for BYU. He was also the head coach for Philadelphia Eagles at some points in his career and he is currently coaching the Kansas City Chiefs team in the NFL from 2013 till date.

8 Mike Tomlin ($8 Million)

Michael Pettaway Tomlin A.K.A. Mike Tomlin started his coaching career in 1995 at Virginia Military Institute as an assistant coach under head coach Bill Stewart. His coaching career has seen him leading his team to 10 playoff runs, 3 AFC Championship Games, 7 division titles, a title in Super Bowl XLIII, and 2 Super Bowl appearances in Pittsburgh Steelers of NFL. He won the Super Bowl at age 36, which made him the youngest head coach to win that and this record was broken by Sean McVay in Super Bowl LVI. It's little wonder why he’s on this list with earnings of $8 million per annum because he holds the longest streak in the NFL as he has never lost a game in his 15 seasons as head coach.

7 Matt Rhule ($8.5 Million)

Mathew Kenneth Rhule also known as Matt Rhule is a former player who was most recently head coach of the Carolina Panthers of the NFL from 2020-2022. His coaching career started in 1998 as a Volunteer Assistant at Penn State, he was once a head coach for Temple, Baylor, and finally, Carolina Panthers before he was fired in October 2022. Before he was fired, he earned $8.5 million per year and was once Big 12 Coach of 2019 and AP Big 12 coach of the year in 2019. He was replaced by Steven Wilks who is presently the interim coach and currently earns $8.5 million too.

6 Frank Reich ($9 Million)

Frank Michael Reich Jr. also known as Frank Reich was a quarterback for Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, and Detroit Lions between 1985 - 1998. His coaching career started in 2006 as a Coach Intern for Indianapolis Colts before he became head coach Indianapolis Colts and he earned $9 million until he was fired on November 7th, 2022.

5 John Harbaugh ($9 Million)

John William Harbaugh was also once a Philadelphia Eagles coach who currently coaches the Baltimore Ravens as head coach with an annual salary of $9 million. His coaching career started as far back as 1984 in Western Michigan, he has coached a number of teams including Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Indiana, and for about 9 years in Philadelphia Eagles. In 2008, he joined Baltimore Ravens, he was once Super Bowl Champion, AP NFL Coach of the Year in 2019, and PFWA coach of 2019.

3 Pete Carroll ($11 Million)

Pete Carroll has had quite the head coaching career, his coaching career started in 1973 as a graduate assistant in Pacific, and from here, he went on to be the head coach for New York Jets in 1994, New England Patriots in 1997, USC from 2001 to 2009 and finally, head coach and Executive Vice President for Seattle Seahawks from 2010 till present. With annual earnings of $11 million, he’s a 2-time national champion, 4 times Rose Bowl champion, 2-time Orange Bowl champion, 7 times Pac-10 Champion, Home Depot Coach of the Year Award 2003, and AFCA Coach of the Year Award 2003.

With an earning of a whopping $18 million per annum, he’s also the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl, become AP NFL Coach of the year in 2017 and make multiple Super Bowl appearances. His coaching career started in 2008 as an Offensive assistant for Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and his head coaching started in 2017 when he was hired by Los Angeles Rams.
